Casa Rosa is located right next to San Pedro Claver in the Walled City and it's close to everything. You can walk everywhere. The staff was very nice, although they spoke very little English. They made a nice effort to make special breakfasts for my father and I. There were only two downsides - the TV service went down during our stay due to an unpaid […] bill and the shower had very, very low pressure and no hot or warm water. The TV situation wasn't too bad, they did their best to fix it and when we were exhausted from the heat and walking around, we read instead. There wasn't anything they could do about the water pressure and temperature but they made an effort to see if it could be fixed for us. Overall, nice little hotel. The location is definitely one of the best things about it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very small room, but great location for the price compared to other hotels we saw. Close to the nicer part of the walled section of the city. Very close to the entrance through the "Plaza de Reloj". Beautiful view from the top floor where they have a jacuzzi. All in all, great place to stay if you're not planning to spend too much time in the room.
"Terrible experience, insulting staff"
01/09/13 beenaround31 Medellin, Colombia
I paid $260 for the night in this hotel. The drapes in the room were very thin and the light from the lobby came in until they turned them off around 4AM. The refrigerator clicked all night, non-stop. When my friend came by and I wanted to bring her to my room, I was told she couldn't come in. There was a lot of discussion which ended in the manager of the hotel asking me if she was a prostitute and me convincing her that she was not (verbally, their prostitute detector was broken apparently). My friend was very embarrassed by all of this. Accusing an upper class Colombian of being a prostitute, especially when dressed conservatively and not looking the part even a little, is a huge insult. The staff was condescending to me from the moment I entered. The gentlemen who was there most of the time laughed at me, as if he was making fun of me. My Spanish is perfect, so I'm really not sure what his issue was but when I brought anything up, he would just laugh. When I complained about the lights, they said I should have gotten out of bed, gone to the lobby, and turned them off. If it was my house, that would be true. In a hotel you are paying $260/ night for though? There are two flights of stairs to get to the rooms. If you have knee problems, keep that in mind. The room itself was ok, but small and a strange shape. The TV was off at a 90 degree angle from the beds so you had to crane your neck to see it. The AC worked well and the bathroom was very nice. They only accept cash to avoid paying taxes. There is a paper on the wall in the lobby stating this. I asked about paying with a credit card and was told in an unpleasant manner that I should have noticed the paper on the wall which said cash only. The booking.com reservation said credit card. Horrible service all in all. When I left I was fairly frustrated at paying so much and having such a poor stay. I calmly told them what my experience was like and they said goodbye by saying: "We hope you have a good day and don't get upset about anything you encounter" and laughed. I would sleep in the street before sleeping there again. I felt insulted and cheated.
"Great place to stay in the old walled city!"

I stayed here for one night and wish that i'd found it sooner because it is a fantastic hotel. Great location in the San Diego neighbourhood of the old walled city with very reasonable pricing. Lots of restaurants and attractions in the blocks around the hotel. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The grounds are beautiful with lush plants everywhere, a refreshing pool and rooftop patio with a jacuzzi. The rooms are small but very comfortable. A continental breakfast is included.
"Nice hotel, very attentive service. Perfect stay in Cartagena!"
First of all, this hotel is perfectly located in the old town of Cartagena de Indias. From there you can walk to any restaurant or other attraction in the city. If you come by car, there is a parking lot very close to the hotel (well, you have to walk a bit, but it is still doable...) It is a small hotel, so you cannot expect all the services that bigger hotels offer, but location and service are perfect and compensate for that. Lina and Jose are very attentive and ready to help every time. Rooms are very clean and decor is modern and stylish. Bathrooms are very nice as well with fantastic shower. The house is very cosy and you feel like at home. The hotel also had free internet access (and a computer/printer in case you do not bring your devices with). The biggest drawback is that you cannot pay with credit card, so you need to draw money from the ATMs during several days in order to pay your stay, this is a bit annoying...

if you want a home away form home you must stay at Casa Rosa, Cartagena. The location is the best possible and you are pratically a guest of Rosa and Vicente, a couple of spaniards who own the place and make all the efforts so that you can feel at ease. And last, but in no way, least, there is another Rosa in this small guest house/hotel, with the biggest smile you have ever seen and a good temper that make the staying even more agreable - she provides everything you need and gives you a feel of cosyness only possible because she is special!!! And don't forget to ask Vicente where the good restaurants are - he knows best - you can forget the rest!

Inesperado! Lugar simples bem aconchegante. Sem frescuras ou muita burocracia. A proprietária Dona Rosa é super agradável embora nao fale inglês! A decoração é bem típica e fofa. O quarto era otimo! Um banheiro super limpo. Cafe da manha bem saudável! Cereais, suco, frutas tudo fresquinho!
