The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

The room was very small and a bit tight for friends. It would be nice for a couple. But the room had a cozy private terrace. And the staff was wonderful! The two desk personnel we encountered were helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a great visit and made a point of having what we needed before we knew we needed it. The hotel was clean, the food just right and always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for us. I would return without thinking twice.

Nice hotel, convenient to train station/trams/buses and cruise boats. Construction on canal and waterfront make it a little hard to get to by car.
"Great location, Very Clean and Comfortable"
Hotel is only 5 minutes from Centraal where all the trains, trams and buses are. The hotel room is very spacious & clean. We booked two rooms, each with a roll-in bed, which is as comfortable as the regular bed. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful.
"Double Tree Hilton Amsterdam - Close to EVERYTHING"
Amazing hotel with a spectacular view of the city and conveniently located right next to Amsterdam Centraal Station. It's literally a 5 minute walk away. It's especially great if you're going to be bar hopping on the Red Light District if you don't want to haggle with getting back to your room after a night out. The skylounge drinks weren't that much […] more expensive than you would expect at any bar and you get a great view of the city. The cafe food was a bit on the expensive side but delicious none the less. The only downside is that the hotel has a kind of H shape so some rooms get windows facing the hotel. "Bar and Trains"
Staff pleasant. Room not what we expected, overlooked trainlines and underneath late night bar, so very noisy at all times of day and night in room1030! Requested change of room at 8am Sat 21st April 2012 not changed until 1800 hours that day to room 879, inferior inside room, no views, smaller, not views over city and water that we had paid for. "close to all must-see sights"
They must change the sheets often and not after 4 days. The noise from disco in the roof carder was little annoying.

A great hotel. Service with a smile with nice touches. iMacs in the bedrooms, White Stuff toiletries in the bathroom and good quality and varied breakfast buffet. My only niggle is that I found the bed a little bit too hard but that is being hyper critical!

Great location, great Skylounge BUT some rooms are just in front of the train line ... very very noisy ! Be carefull not to get assigned one of that room !

"New and design hotel in Amsterdam"
We had a Junior Sute with a city view. I expected the room to be larger but it's OK. 2 Imac available in the room which is terrific. Nice view. Bed a little bit hard. Sky lounge is wonderful to have a drink.

"!st Visit Mint / 2nd Visit Not So Great"
We first stayed at this hotel in July 2011. We had a room at the front of the hotel with great views of Amsterdam. We loved it so much we decided to make a return visit in February 2012 for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. This time things did not run smoothly. Check in was a slow queue. Our room faced the noisy railway station at the back of the hotel. […] We were offered a newspaper and late check out for joining the Hilton 'club' - but the newspaper wasn't delivered nor an explanation. We were locked out of our room even though we had agreed late check out - and then joined a slow queue to check out. If you get a room at the front of the hotel and fall lucky with the service this is a great hotel in a super location. If you're put in a back room and get locked out your room you will not feel so happy. The Crown Plaza does not have such great views but is a similar price and is more reliable. We will not be staying at this Double Tree by Hilton again nor will we be using our membership of Hilton Honours. Read more

"Doubletree - Amsterdam"
Used the hotel for a weekend trip to Amsterdam, room was avaialble at 12 noon when we checked in, and we receicved an upgrade, so all was good. Booked a suite, however due to the proximity of the suites to the main railway line, it was very noisy, which was not a problem for us, however it would not be good if you were a light sleeper. Sky lounge […] was great location for drinks, however waiter service was a bit hit and miss, as you constantly had to chase for them to get more drinks or the bill. Breakfast in the City Bar, was buffet, which very good on the Saturday morning, however due to the number of guests in the hotel on the Sunday, the buffet was stripped bear by the time we went for breakfast at 10.30am, so had to make do with some fruit and toast. I would have thought the hotel could have coped better by accepting that a lot of peopel would breakfast lateon a Sunday and put more food on and more staff. Read more

The double tree by the hilton hotel in amsterdam is a fantastic hotel beautifully situated with outstanding views. "The best hotel in Amsterdam"
100 metres from the train station, fantastic views of Amsterdam. I was there for 5 nights for New Year & watching the fireworks from the terrace on the 9th floor was spectacular. Mini Bar prices were reasonable, as were meals & drinks at the Lobby Bar, but cafes & a supermarket are just across the road, you can buy everytthing you want. Everything in […] Amsterdam is within a short walk. .If you want to go to other places, the train & trams are right there for you. The rooms were larger than most European hotels, spotlessly clean, staff were friendly, polite & helpful & cared about guests.. I would only stay at this hotel when I return to Amsterdam. I have stayed at other hotels in Amsterdam & been bitterly disappointed. I was definitely not disappointed by this hotel, everything was perfect. Two negatives 1 if you dont get a city view room then its a poorer experience particularly if you spend time in the room. The views from the city rooms are special the courtyard view is poor. 2 Breakfast and prices in general were high even by Amsterdam standards. Room comfort great - free internet was great and easy to use - service was welcoming Unfortunately […] we did not get a city view and I misubderstood my booking which said city standard. Also remember the hotel is very close to the stag area of town - so people are coming back at all times of night in all sorts of states - we had some-one throwing up outside our bedroom door about 400a.m. one morning! Pluspunten: mooi modern hotel, prima bedden, airco goed afgesteld, lekkere douche, vriendelijk personeel, mooi dakterras, naast het centraal station (geen geluidsoverlast van treinen). Minpunten: standaardkamer was niet erg ruim en zag uit op andere kamers.

Vel verdt å betale ekstra for et rom med utsikt over vannet og byen. Vinduer fra gulv til tak og et perfekt rom. Stille. Baren på hotellets takterrasse i 11. etg. er også et pluss. Gangavstand til (fly)tog, buss, trikk og metro. Ellers bare å spasere rett in i sentrum.

"Sentralt og meget bra hotell"
Oppholdet på DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Amsterdam Centraal Station var veldig bra. Vi var riktignok tre voksne og bodde derfor relativt trangt på det som i utgangspunktet var et dobbelrom. Det visste vi imidlertid før vi dro, og det la derfor ingen demper på oppholdet. Meget bra service på hotellet, både mht. innsjekking, frokost, rengjøring av rom […] og oppbevaring av bagasje. Flott hotell med utmerket service . Vi ønsket oss et rom et rom med balkong og når vi sjekket inn fikk vi en terasse suite med 2 store balkonger med blomster og godt utstyrt med utemøbler . Rommet var delikat og rent ved ankomst og det var 2 store iMac til disp. På rommet . Vi hadde bestilt rom uten frokost og ettersom vi fikk en suite så var både frokost […] og daglig oppfylling av minibar inkl . Om jeg skal si noe negativt så måtte det være treg oppfylling av minibar og glass. Det var i seg selv ikke noe problem for når vi sa ifra var de på døra etter 2 min . "Muy mala experiencia con la reserva de habitación"
TEMA RESERVAS Ojo para las familias de 3. Os relato nuestra muy mala experiencia de la reserva de dos familias que reservamos dos habitaciones para 3 personas (2 adultos y un joven inferior a 17 años). Realizamos la reserva correctamente a través de Hoteles.com, por teléfono, e incluso tuvimos un contacto por e-mail (día 10/02/2012), en la que entre […] otras cosas confirmamos que éramos 3 pax por habitación. El caso es que llegamos el martes 3 de Abril, y nos dicen que “no había habitaciones de 3, les faltaban extra-beds”. Después de la discusión nos colocaron en tres habitaciones dobles con el consiguiente trastorno para las dos familias. Al día siguiente iniciamos las gestiones para enderezar el tema a las 08:30, luego a las 14:00, dándonos largas, “estaban haciendo el checking”, y finalmente a las 21:30, nos ofrecen otras 3 habitaciones dobles y nos aseguran que no hay ninguna posibilidad de tener habitación para tres .El cabreo ahora sí que es fenomenal. No entendemos la falta de transparencia, ni el poco trato digno en un hotel de esta entidad. Finalmente dormimos en tres nuevas habitaciones. Al cuarto día como creíamos que nuestra situación se había vuelto estable, decidimos hacer unas compras cuando salimos a la mañana. Volvimos al hotel sobre las 3 de la tarde a dejar en el hotel las compras y no pudimos entrar en una habitación. Fuimos otra vez a ver que pasaba y nos dijeron que ahora si nos iban a poner una extra-bed en las otras dos habitaciones. Salimos a la tarde con la preocupación de que nos encontraríamos a la vuelta, pues dadas las dimensiones de las habitaciones la extra-bed no la veíamos muy factible. Cuando volvimos, fuimos a las habitaciones y efectivamente habían colocado una extra-bed, que era un colchón inflable. Ver fotos, ya lo dicen todo. "バスタブが欲しい"
新しいホテルなのでワイファイの環境が良く、部屋にPC備付けで、とても良かった。チェックイン時にクッキーを人数分、頂いたのですが、大荷物を持っているのに封をしてない状態で渡されたので一個は、袋から落下し・・・。 デラックスツインでしたので、窓からの眺めは良く、足りないのはバスタブだけでした。 セントラルステーションの行き来は、近いのですが大きな荷物を持って、歩道やトラムのレールを、いくつもまたぐのは、とても大変なので、空港へのバスの便があると良いと思いました。

Nytt , fint og moderne hotell. Sentrumsnær beliggenhet. Gåavstand til det meste og sykkelutleie til de som foretrekker to hjul. Stor,god og variert frokost. 中央駅から歩いて５分ぐらいです。列車で到着する人には便利な立地です。部屋は機能的で特に不満はありませんが、朝食がついていないのが不満です。朝食は１４ユーロでしたが、駅までいけば食べるとこはいっぱいあります。wi-hiは無料でした。

Goed hotel. Zorg alleen dat je aan de voorkant slaapt aan de achterkant weinig slapen met alle treinen.

"Fantastisk hotell rett ved sentralstasjonen"
Hotellet var meget fint og gjennomført. Veldig behagelig atmosfære. Profosjonelt, men hyggelig, personale som gjorde det veldig enkelt å sjekke inn og ut, pluss god hånderingen av bagasjen på avreisedagen. I skyloungen kan du få utsikt over byen over en lunsj, drink eller middag. Hotellet har også to restauranter. Prøvde bare den ene; veldig god mat […] og serviceinnstilte servitører. Frokostbufféten hadde godt utvalgt, men var nokså dyr (€ 24.50 pr. pers/ dag), så lønner seg å få dette inkludert i reservasjonen hvis det er mulig. Hvis det er noe jeg skal klage på, så står det under beskrivelsen av hotellet at man skal få badekåper og tøfler, vi fikk kun en badekåpe og var to stykker på rommet. Og det trådløse nettverket til å koble opp mobil osv. var veldig svakt i den delen av hotellet vi hadde rom, men rommet var utstyrt med en iMAC hvor vi kunne se tv, film og undersøke ting på nettet - noe som var helt supert. Veldig bra hotell, som jeg gjerne anbefaler videre. Og som jeg utvilsomt kunne tenke meg å bo på igjen hvis jeg skal til Amsterdam ved en senere anledning. Read more
