Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Schiphol - Hoofddorp

Did not have a restaurant for dinner but one was available in a nearby Crowne Plaza hotel. Breakast was included and was very good. Very reasonable price for at hotel at Schipol. Shuttle from airport to hotel is free but return costs 7.50euro

Would not return to this property. Not up to HIE standards. No soap or shampoo in bathroom. (Shower soap dispenser empty.) Unbearably hot room temperature because west wall drapes were left open to the afternoon sun. Windows could not be opened and heat/ac centrally controlled. Receptionist's suggested solution was to close drapes and wait for room […] to cool off. One window without drapes had broken window shade which could not be closed for privacy. Reserved seats on airport shuttle for morning of departure and was shocked to find at check out that there was a shuttle fee of 7.50 Euros per person. We were not advised of this when we reserved the shuttle and I have NEVER EVER paid for a shuttle from an AIRPORT HOTEL. A most disappointing experience which might be my last at HIE.. Read more

Was a nice stay

This was an excellent and very comfortable hotel in all ways. The staff were wonderful and my room was not only clean and fresh, but was one of the most comfortable places I have every stayed. The hotel had an excellent and free internet connection and the TV channels were very diverse with many in English. The shuttle from the airport was free, but […] there was a charge of 8.5 Euros for the return which was reasonable as the drivers were great and got me back to the airport the next morning by avoiding a horrific traffic jam through the back streets. The only drawback to this site was that there were no close places to eat that are reasonably priced. There are drinks and sandwiches available for sale in the lobby, and the desk staff had a large assortment of food delivery menus for pizza and pasta dishes which they were willing to assist me in ordering. I would stay at this site again, but I would definitely eat in the airport before going to the hotel. Read more

The hotel is new and is still working out some rough spots in their operation, e.g. the air conditioning system, the fickleness of the system which requires room keys to have electricity, the sensitive fire alarm system, and the poor soap and dispensers. The hotel is starting a shuttle service from the airport on Monday, so the transportation from the airport should be better - I took a taxi, which cost 30EU (ouch). The hotel is extremely new, so it is quite nice. This was a very convenient and nice hotel. It offered a free airport shuttle service, complimentary breakfast, and a great bathroom/bed. Everything that one could ask for while away. Make sure that you get the front desk to give you a card showing that you were a guest at the hotel so that you can ride the shuttle to the airport. Hotel room was rather small, but very functional. Clean, fresh, attractive. Great shower! The breakfast was more than a continental and of the 4 hotels we stayed at in The Netherlands, this was the only one that offered it free. Regarding the shuttle, take the Crowne Plaza Hotel shuttle. You then walk across the street to the Holiday Inn Express. No biggee. The ride from the airport to the hotel is complimentary BUT for a return to the airport you have to purchase a voucher at the Holiday Inn at a pretty high cost OR you can do what we did and take an easy15-minute walk to the train station for a very inexpensive, 5-minute ride to the airport. We had the luxury of staying 4 nights at this hotel during our trip to Europe. This was the best hotel out of the 4 that we stayed at in Europe. PROS: Hotel workers spoke multiple languages which were extremely convenient and they were friendly/courteous/polite/helpful. The hotel was actually a renovated office building but they did an awesome job with […] renovations (modern and comfortable atmosphere). Breakfast was complimentary/free. The beds were extremely comfortable. Satellite offered a few English speaking channels (not like you’ll be sitting in your room watching TV). The train stations can be reached within a mile walk or via the hotel shuttle bus to the airport. In reality, I believe this is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed. Free internet access. CONS: They are still a new/up-and-running hotel, so they had some technical issues with their card reader system for the rooms. Coffee is limited to the morning breakfast service time. Not close to the city, so the view is limited to parking areas/buildings. Local phone calls cost. Hotel supports (well most of Europe actually) the “Go Green” theme with its recommendations on use of towels and electrical use (must have a room key to activate the lighting in the room). OVERALL: 5 star hotel, highly recommended to anyone thinking about visiting the Amsterdam area. Read more

Nice, new hotel and a good choice unless security is of any importance to you. Please be warned that all suitcases, breifcases, etc should remain with you at all times- drag them to the breakfast buffet line , keeping them on your body or you risk them being stolen from your table, as ours were. Though they said to ask for anything we would need to help us, when we asked for someone from the hotel to take us to the US Consolate (Amsterdam can be confusing to navigate beyond finding Central Station) they arranged for a driver to take us. However, it was completetely at our cost. If we wanted a taxi, we could have called one ourselves. The "manager" witnessed the whole event and never identified herself. Intstead she had us wait for sales director to deal with our "problem". So much for security and care of any "guest" staying here. Not the best or the worst of anything - distance to anything (airport, metro), amenities, cleanliness, size, or anything else

A comfortable, clean and functional hotel. Recently refurbished from the look of the hotel however the only downside was the location. A good 10-15 minute walk from Hoofdorrp station the hotel is not that easy to find. This hotel was about 5 minutes from the airport and there was a shuttle every 30 minutes. It is also close to the train station. For the price well worth it.

if the hotel is nearer to train station, it would be better and easier to get to there. there aren't many food shops around the hotel. there's no hot food for breakfast at the hotel.

The room was very quet, clean and comfortable. Wireless Internet was useful. Breakfast was modest. If you want to access to Amsterdam central, you should be noted that there are not many trains to Central, maybe 2 per hour. Totaly I was satisfied with this hotel.

Very clean, modern, new facilities and convenient location (walking distance to train station, 15 min from airport- 30 min to city). I recommend this hotel for any business travellers.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced stay near the airport you should check this out. It is a 4 minute train ride from the airport and a 10 minute walk from the Hoofddorp station. In return you get a brand new, stylish hotel and good value for money.

The Holiday Inn Express is a very nice hotel, it is located at about 10 minutes walking to a train station, so its well connected to Amsterdam and other cities. The problem is the neighborhood, which is a business area, meaning after 6 the place is deserted, with no convenience stores around or things to visit if you go for a walk. The shuttle back […] to the airport is charged and has an schedule, but from airport to hotel is for free. The sole receptionest was kept busy but coped reasonably well, she also ran the bar and more staff would enhance the service. The hotel was a little out of the way, a free bus from the airport and a minimal charge to return but a taxi ride was euro30 ! The hotel service was okay. I payed for One Double Bed Nonsmoking but when my wife and I arrived at the hotel we received a room with two single beds. I am not sure what could cause such a mistake. Airport shuttle dropped us on other side of the street (at the Crowne Plaza). This was very inconvenient with several luggages. Even at hotel there was no ramp to roll luggage and entrance not wide enough. Elevators too small for luggage and didn't worked properly. Room was clean and comfortable.

I really didn't know, how many star does the hotel have? but I wouldn't be surprized even if it is called a 4star hotel. Clean, kind and helpful staff, cozy area ... It worth giving it a try, you won't regret it. :)

Nearby restaurants quite pricey, but walk 5 minutes farther down the road to a convenient shopping mall for more reasonable dining options. Peaceful park nearby; 20 minute walk to the train station. Room was very clean but uncomfortably hot from the sun, and it didn't cool off at night. Notwithstanding the instructions in the room, the control panel makes it clear that the temperature is centrally controlled. Good luck working out how the lights switches work - you need to put your key card in a slot at the door before any lights come on, but by saving on a few light switches the designers have ensured a lot of future frustration for guests. Very nice hotel, parking was good, but as a North American I was hoping to be able to drive right up to the hotel entrance. But the room was very nice, the hotel was very organized, nothing but compliments!

Hotel is brand new, nice rooms and staff, great value. The shuttlebus to take is the Crown Plaza bus.

We waren eigenlijk te kort in dit hotel om een goede beoordeling te geven. Het ontvangst was in ieder geval netjes. De kamer was prima, vooral de badkamer vonden we super! Het ontbijt zat bij de prijs in (ook incl ontbijt was dit hotel de goedkoopste in zn soort op het moment van boeken) maar omdat we om 07.00 met de shuttle naar schiphol moesten, konden […] we er geen gebruik van maken. Pent hotell, fresht interiør, god service. Stor dusj og digg seng. Kort vei fra flyplassen hvor du blir hentet med skyttelbuss. Et lite minus for at moms ("city tax") blir lagt til regningen når du sjekker ut (ikke oppgitt ved bestilling), og at du må betale 7 euro for skyttelbuss til og fra flyplassen. 虽然叫Holiday Inn Amsterdam Schiphol，其实是在机场旁边一个叫Hoofddorp的小镇子，也可以说是荷兰Schiphol机场附近的一个办公区和物流区，所以我的荷兰同事都说名不符实，感觉很别扭，呵呵。旅馆离火车站不远，走路5分钟就可以到，只是不容易发现，尤其是在晚上。旅馆很新，据说是2011年4月才开张的，所以设施都很不错，也很干净，前台的服务也很热心，符合荷兰人热情的特点。就是离Hoofddorp的镇中心稍有距离，走路大概要10分钟以上，买了东西拎回旅馆略显费劲。

Selvom hotellet ligger et godt stykke uden for Amsterdam centrum, så er det bestemt et besøg værd. Min kæreste og jeg var meget tilfredse med den service der blev ydet og den rene og hyggelige atmosfære. Alt er holdt simpelt, men på den gode måde. Vi bodde på dette hotellet i sammenheng med en lengre reise dagen etter, og hadde det igrunn veldig trivelig. Hotellet ligger ikke langt fra flyplassen, men siden det er relativt nytt, måtte vi gjennom flere taxier for å finne en som visste hvor det lå. Resepsjonen var imøtekommende, og rommene var som forventet, det samme var frokosten. Shuttlebuss […] til flyplassen dagen etter viste seg å koste litt, men alt gikk knirkefritt. Jeg anbefaler dette hotellet for noen som skal fly dagen etter, men vil du oppleve Amsterdam kan jeg anbefale å finne noe som ligger nærmere byen. Read more

Hyggelig resepsjonister og shuttle-sjåfør. Veldig fint rom, moderne og med alle fasilitetene. To typer puter å velge mellom, deilig dusj og bra frokost. Det mann ville foventet fra et nytt hotell ved flyplassen. Eneste ulempe er at det er litt langt fra flyplssen, og transport til hotellet er gratis, men returen koster 7.50 eur. A new hotel which gives comfortable entrance. Breakfast - like supermarket self-service to pick from the shelves. No free film channel on TV although it is mentioned in the booklet. Good with free shuttle to the nearby Crown Plaza and walking distance across the street. Unnecessary 7,50EUR for this shuttle on the way back to the airport, but can be […] exchanged by a train (walking distance to the station, takes just 7 minutes) which goes every 115-20 minutes to Schiphol as the next station. L'hotel est très agréable le seul reproche que l'on pourrai faire est la distance par rapport à la ville d'Amsterdam. Il manque aussi d'information concernant le fonctionnement de la ville : le coût des parking en centre ville est exorbitant, préferer un parking en bordure avec le systeme de relais-bus (8/jour)
