The French Country Inn Lake Geneva - Lake Geneva

Dated, however has lots of potential. Dissapointed to see the restaurant and bar was closed indefinately. Location was exceptional, all rooms have lake (lake como, not lake Geneve) view. Great history, the Inn just needs to be refreshed, and branded better, it has the potential to be a high end retreat.

The hotel was nice. It was quaint and quiet and romantic. The room could have certainly been cleaner, but nothing really bad. My biggest complaint is that the water smelled like rotten eggs. Went on a romantic getaway and wanted to sit in the hot tub, but the smell of the water really ruined that.

I stayed here during a holiday visit in Dec. When I arrived, I was assigned a room, but there was literally no wireless signal there. The Expedia site clearly lists "Complimentary wireless internet in rooms", so I was not happy. The management stated that the wireless signal is not guaranteed to reach all the rooms - in direct conflict with site. To […] their credit, they put me in the upgraded wing where the wireless router is downstairs from my room and the signal was able to reach. I think this hotel has very little knowledge about networking since the coverage was so spotty and the network name had the default router name of "Zyxel". The rooms are spacious and quaint. Bigger tubs are nice too and the heater worked well. The bath was on a second floor but there were no bath amenities there (only on main floor of room). The bed was mediocre - a little soft. In general, the rooms were a bit tired looking and dated, but clean at least. The parking lot was kind of dangerous with ice patches after the storm the day before I arrived. It did get better after the first day and I did see someone spreading salt. The weekend breakfast was really not good at all, offering coffee/juice and some scrambled eggs and oatmeal. The bacon tasted a bit rancid. The baked goods were not good quality. So, all in all, the breakfast was not a selling point. My wife and I got married on Saturday and we checked in that night and the staff (Eric) was super nice. The room was just as we expected. Sheets were so soft, the room was so clean, and the view of the lake was awesome. At checkout the staff even took some photos for us which was so nice of her (Debbie). This will be our anniversary spot as well.

Ove the years we have always wanted to stay here. Now that we had the chance, we're glad we did. This is a beautiful location with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. Their complimentary breakfast was a pleasant surprise and was easily a $25-30 savings. We plan on returning again in the spring.

Nice, quaint romantic getaway. Good location on lake Como, but a ~3 mile drive from downtown Lake Geneva. Service was good & the breakfast was pretty good as well with plenty of options (eggs, cereal, bagels, pancakes).

This hotel is great for couples! Right on the water (I could have fished off the balcony!), and secluded. The room was nice and the staff was very accomidating. The hotel is located just outside the hustle and bustle of Lake Geneva. It is very quaint and quiet. The rooms are a little small but kept in good condition. My girlfriend and I spent a Saturday night at the French Country Inn. We got a king room with a jacuzzi. We've stayed in jacuzzi rooms before, and this was by far the biggest and nicest.
