Chelsea B&B - Guest house - Bath

Very large, well-appointed room and en-suite bathroom in traditional Bath urban townhouse, with off-street parking, on busy street but quiet because of double-glazed windows.

Staying at the Chelsea was a very pleasant experience. The room was nicely presented and clean, and the reception we received was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and generous in portion. We really enjoyed staying here. It's out of the city centre, but easily accessible by bus - the manager was helpful in directing us to […] bus stops, and he provided a local map for the attractions of the city. This b&b has a great location for the price. Its right outside a bus stop with very regular service and has off road parking which instantly saves you the nightmare of trying to drive round bath. The owner is very pleasant and the service was very good. Our room was quite large and spacious. There were all the facilities you'd expect for the price. Bad […] points: Mattress was lumpier than the surrounding countryside Bed clothes were more tired than I was, I lived in constant fear they'd disintegrate. Most of the furniture was falling apart - the wardrobe was particularly hilarious. The shower had two modes - arctic and tropical. It chose these in random order to keep you on your toes. Shower/bathroom needed some renovation. I did have a nice stay here, would definitely go back if some of the problems were addressed. Oh and it was lovely and quiet! Read more

Spent 1 night here with 2 people. Gentleman who ran the b/b was very nice, great with directions, recommending restaurants, etc. Room was large, clean, quiet. In the neighbourhood is some shops, bakery, etc. One downside is the shower was very hard to use, with little pressure. Didn't have a chance to have breakfast as we had to catch a train but looked […] nice. If you don't have a car it is a 2 mile walk to the city, or a 5 pound cab ride. Read more

Excellent value and friendly hosts, good quality hotel value for money in a city that is very expensive for accomodation

I stayed at the Chelsea for one night in February 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were charming and clean. Our hosts were friendly and offered information on Bath. At least 10 pounds of the cost of your stay is more than made up by the breakfast. When we came down in the morning, the host greeted us and offered us tea, coffee, and a full […] English breakfast that was made to order while we could eat fresh fruit, yogurt, and toast as well as drink juice and tea. The breakfast was delicious and large enough to last us throughout the day. The walk from Chelsea to the center of town was about 30 minutes, but there is a local bus that runs every few minutes that takes you into the town quickly. Read more

Haben 1 Nacht in diesem B&B verbracht und können es für so einen Zeitraum ( Kurztrips) auch weiterempfehlen. Das Haus liegt an einer viel befahrenen Straße. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war englisch und total ausreichend. Der Fußweg über den Victoria Park, an Royal Crescent vorbei ins Zentrum ist an sich schon ein […] Erlebnis und dauert ca. 20 Min. Die Altstadt von Bath und die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind nah beieinander und man kann wirklich alles gut zu Fuß laufen. Read more
