Lindisfarne House - Guest house - Windermere

Pleasant and comfortable describe our five day stay. The hosts were helpful and gave use great suggestions for dining out. Breakfast was delicious. The Hotel is a little too distant from town centres for less able people to walk, but a very easy drive.

Very basic, ok if backpacking.breakfast OK but nothing exceptional. Very costly for B and B, but I guess its the location, didn't get a chance to compare but there are plenty of hotels and B and B locally. Bedroom fairly small, bathroom very large, pink, looked like something from the sixties.

It was a family vacation and we had one en-suite and one room with private bathroom outside the room, both on the top floor. The rooms are not huge but cozy and clean. The breakfast was good and there are yogurt, cereals and fruit besides the full English breakfast. Good points: Allocated parking at a nearby school, much better option than on street parking on the narrow roads 15min walk to Windermere Lake Free internet in room Very comfy bed Friendly hosts Room for improvement: The breakfast was a bit of a let down, especially for a 4*. We recently stayed in a 3* elsewhere in the UK, and the cooked breakfast […] was much better and offerred three different options. At the Lindisfarne you get the same English cooked breakfast everyday, which can get boring. Also we felt that the ingredients were not of a very high quality. Conclusion Good value for money at this conveniently located b&b and with the added advantage of off street parking. However given the huge amount of choice of accommodation in the area, we recommend that the hosts improve their breakfast to remian competitive. Read more

The room was very spacious, clean and tidy, well maintained. The bathroom was also spacious with bath/shower. Overall the room was better than my expectation given its relatively lower price. It offers free breakfast, free Wi-Fi (our room didn't get good reception, can bring your laptop to the common room at ground floor) and free parking along the […] street (should be able to find plently of space just outside the guest house). Very conviniently located, quite and close to the centre. Only 10 mins walk to town centre, walking distance (15min) to Windermere lake, Highly recommended to self-drive travellers (you might need a car to explore the lake district), also recommended to travellers by foot, 10-minute walk to town centre is totally acceptable. Our stay was delightful, the room was spotless as were all aspects of the guest house, The owners were completely unobtrusive but available if needed. The breakfast was superb. I would definateley stay here again. Thank you for making our break a comforable one.

Typisch Engels, heerlijk Full-English-ontbijt, aardige eigenaren en een nette kamer met super douche. Ik raad de B&B eerder voor wat oudere koppels aan, maar het is met de goede locatie precies tussen Windermere en Bowness in een prima accommodatie voor iedereen die van de Lakes houdt.

是很好的度假小屋。房间干净，主人也很友善。不足之处是距离火车站有点远，路上提着行李上坡很辛苦。距离湖边也是差不多同样的距离（走路10~15分钟），一路上风景还好所以也还可以接受。

場所は　湖のほうと街への間くらいにあるので、ウォーキングが得意な人なら問題なく　両方へ歩いて行けると思います。 でも、タオルが３日に１回の交換しかしてもらえないのがゲストハウスならではなのだと、言われてしまい　タオル交換は一度もなかったので、同じタオルを３日朝晩使いましたが　それは日本人にはすごく無理があると思います。 特に自分は潔癖気味なうえに、朝と夜にお風呂に入るので、かなり耐え忍んだ感があります。しかも　寒い日が多かったのですが、まだ季節じゃないということでヒーター限られていて　タオルは濡れたまま使ったり・・・でした。 ヒーターについてはお願いしても、点けてはもらえず、現地の人や他のユーロの人には寒くはないのだ！と言われてしまいました。私にはすごく寒かったので、ただ部屋で厚着をして […] 紅茶をいっぱい飲んで震えてました。 ゲストハウスのご夫婦がひどい人というわけではないのですが、親切さはあるんだけど、かなりシビアなのが英国人らしさです。共に暮らすには、ちょっと日本人には合わないと思います。ホテルとはやはり違いがあります。部屋やバスルームは問題ないです。ただ、温度とタオルのほうが自分には重要でした。 Read more

I stayed at the place for 2 nights and I really enjoyed cozy atmosphere of the accommodation. The room was really clean and comfortable. Though the place had steep staircase, but the owner helped me bring up and down a heavy suitcase. I also enjoyed full English breakfast very much.

　熟年の夫婦が切り盛りするゲストハウスで、私の感じではＢ＆Ｂと同じでした。ウインダミアの駅とボウネスの中間当りに在り、レイクロードから横道に入り、約２ブロック程行った所に在ります。夕食は駅の近くか、ボウネス港の近くですることになりますが、ボウネス港の近くの方が沢山のレストランがありました。 　数組の人が泊っていましたが、朝食はほとんど皆フルイングリッシュでした。部屋は極一般的なもので、別に不満な所はありませんでした。私はあまり聞きませんでしたが、もし聞けば御主人は親切に答えてくれそうな感じでした。

I gestori sono molto carini, ma la stanza n. 5 ha il bagno esterno ed e` piccolissima, la colazione e` buona e comprende frutta fresca, non usuale da queste parti. Windermere e` lontana dal lago e non ha alcuna attrazione. Il postocomunque e` silanzioso e pulito.
