Lovely spot to stay in Florence!
This hotel is off the beaten path so you'll need a car or you'll have to take a taxi to get into the city center of Florence to see the sights. It is so quiet and beautiful, though, it was worth the cost of the taxi to be there. There were even fireflies! We were sad to leave.

Wonderful View of Florence
The hotel was a bit of a hike to get into the city of Florence but for us it was well worth it. The view of the city and surrounding hills from our balcony was beautiful and the neighborhood was peaceful. The staff was very courteous and the breakfasts were excellent.

Old Hotel in nice area, but NO reliable Internet
Big warning upfront: If you were intending to use the advertised Internet access available in the Hotel to get business done during your stay, don't. They basically use a domestic DSL router hooked up to a few WiFi base stations throughout the Hotel. It didn't work at all at most times in the morning and evening and when it worked it was very slow. Complaints to Management were replied with that it is "free" and thus I can't really expect anything else. They plainly said that they don't want to spend the money to upgrade the connection. The rest of the experience fits that nicely, the Hotel doesn't seem to have seen any investments in years. No amenities in the rooms (No minibar, no Kettle, nothing), very basic breakfast with few choices and old fashioned room keys that you have to leave at the reception. It feels right out of a 1960's movie. Heating or A/C is only available all or nothing as it is centrally controlled, you just have a little valve control where you can regulate the air into the room. But if they decide to not switch the heat or cold air on (Like during our one week stay), you won't have anything to regulate... Having the windows open is no option as there are lots of mosquitos around. The only plus is the nice view from the big balcony over Florence. Not enough if everything else is so disappointing.

Nice older relaxing hotel with few annoyances
This hotel has some nice features as well as some annoying ones. Pros: nice quiet area, nice garden, parking, nice view, nice clean rooms, good restaurant and bar. Cons/issues: hot water in my shower got fairly in cool pretty quickly in the morning, internet was extremely slow, old style keys that you have to leave at the front desk every time you go out and then pick them up when you are back. Also, we had two rooms and phone didn't work on one of them. Hotel is about 40-45 min walking distance to the touristy areas. Which we didn't mind, since hotel area was very nice, quiet and relaxing. But since walk back to the hotel was uphill we usually had to take taxi (cost EUR 10-12 from the river). So, if you want a more modern hotel closer to the center, this hotel is probably not for you. But if you drive, and like nice quieter place, and can put up with "cons" described above, you might enjoy this family run villa-hotel.

Park like setting in Florence.
Great for someone who wants to be away from city center and a park like setting. Not a 5 star hotel, but more like a higher end pension.
