"Great Location But Needs Some Additional Amenities"
Kind of a funky Hotel with some odd layouts. We were two couples and one room was "normal" with the other having a bathroom/shower window facing the bed with the option of a curtain across it. These rooms are small and space is obviously a constraint re the design. While trying to be avant garde in design; there are no counters or drawers to store stuff […] in the bathroom and storage in the bedroom is limited to a small free standing hutch...no drawers in the room. Kind of disappointed that no coffee machine or at least a kettle is provided in the room and unfortunately your best bet is to hit the street in search of a coffee. Quiet downtown location in general but some loud air vent noises (?) or air conditioning inside the room. I would say that security is a hit or miss as the one person on duty may or may not be at the front desk and anyone can wander in from the outside without being challenged. Overall the place is "cute" and everyone very friendly. Location is perfect in the heart of the City and easy walks to everything. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Chez Swann. Our room was a nice size and very comfortable during our stay. Be aware that the "peekaboo" shower is just that. Pulling the curtain down does not really give you any privacy so take that into consideration before booking. This is a boutique hotel that does not offer amenities like room service […] or a concierge. The front desk staff was extremely nice, but were not able to answer some basic questions about the area (i.e., Where is the nearest pharmacy?). Would definitely recommend the hotel as it is a great value in a great area - within walking distance to a metro station, near the shopping street of Rue St. Catherine, and great bars/restaurants on Rue Crescent. "Modern hotel with excellent amenities"
The experience at Chez Swann was excellent. Room was clean and spacious. The shower was by far the highlight of the stay! Staff were bi-lingual and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"love this hotel!!!"
Had a great stay. The room is beautiful, priced well, very hip and cool. A bit noisy over the restaurant and hearing the wood floors creak but its kind of the charm of the place. Had a great time and the staff was great. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, friendly staff and very accommodating also location is very centralizedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I've been to Montreal many times but this time I was looking for something a little bit different for my husband's 40th. This hotel was in a great location, within walking distance to night life and great restaurants. The hotel had a unique modern twist. There is also what looks to be a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff was aware it […] was my husband's 40th and they brought up a box of chocolates from chocolatier 99 a gourmet chocolate bar in Montreal along with a card. It was very thoughtful and the staff were accommodating. Even though the hotel looks small from the outside it was worth it on the inside. This hotel is definitely for those who like to branch out and are looking for something hip, trendy and fun which is exactly what Montreal exudes anyway. I would book with Hotel Chez Swann again. "The brightest room imaginable"
Our room had only a very small window in the corner and a huge skylight right above the bed. We arrived at 3 am and I tried to get some sleep during the day, which proved impossible due to the blaring bright light coming from the skylight that was only equipped with some sheers...the reception had some eye masks handy but those were not the most comfortable […] things to wear, slipping and sliding on my face and the velcro getting tangled in my hair. The room's brightness can only be compared with being under the reflectors in an Operating Room. Other than the light issue, it was a wonderful little hotel with 22nd century showers and elegant decor and excellent downtown location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are very spacious and clean. No clutter or unnecessary objects in the room. However, the simplicity is what I liked the most. Staff very friendly. Location is amazing, right next to Rue Sainte-Catherine, perfect for shopping. We went everywhere by foot. Except for one trip on the metro to the Biodome. Also some people in our group rented some […] kind of electro bikes and went on them to Mont Royal. Basically, everything is very close by. The only thing there is no parking at the hotel, but they give you a coupon to the near by parking garage, which cost us $42 American dollars for 3 days. This garage is right next to the hotel. Book this hotel and you won't regret it! All of the people in our group were in their late 20's. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is very modern and is nice. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The location is great! Only when we arrived was complimentary water provided or toiletries given. It would be nice if an ice machine were available so you do not have to ask for some at the front desk. Only once were there pastries available in the lobby and they were very good! […] We did not have any trouble with the internet as was mentioned in other reviews. We parked around the corner from the hotel and it was only $20/day. The hotel will give you a coupon for $4 off, but this parking lot is still cheaper. We had a great time and definitely recommend the hotel and Montreal! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel GREAT PRICE on Hotels.com!"
Some of the front desk associates were not extremely fluent in English which when we checked in was a hinderance, because we were given little information and in a few instances when asking questions were given incorrect information. E.G. We asked when we needed to be out of the garage to not be charged for a second day and were told 12 Noon. We left […] the garage in the morning and were charged extra because the time is actually 5am. Hotel check out is at noon. This can be expected when traveling to another country. However the associates that were fluent in english were very helpful. One was able to get me last minute reservations for Le Bremner and was very helpful with information about the city and its attractions. This is a nice and small hotel where in a weeks time you might only see a few people. Seems like its your own place even in peak season! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel. Great deal through Hotels.com!!!"
The hotel was great. NO KIDS! Well I mean you could bring kids but it was nice to not have to deal with someone else's mistake. If you are on the 3rd floor and have a suite, you will have a sky light in your room. If you can sleep in a bright room you won't mind, but remember the sun starts coming up at like 630am, so it is bright in the room by 730am. There […] is a bike rental (Bixi) right outside the hotel door! So you can rent bikes for pretty cheap daily and not have to deal with anyone. Real simple! Phone calls to the U.S. and local are free. Nice since it is not cheap to use a U.S. cell phone in canada. There is free parking at the end of Drummond Street, a few blocks up the hill from the hotel. Make sure you park in front of an apartment building as my vehicle was broken into. (in another location, not on Drummond) We made the mistake of parking in a somewhat desolate area. "Great hotel in the middle of everything"
I loved Hotel Chez Swann. It's modern, clean and quiet. I loved my room but the only thing I would change is the main door to the room. You could hear very easily out into the hallway. Therefore it was not as private as it could have been. Otherwise a great room. Room 202 had a view of a parking lot but I didn't mind. I like the accessibility to Rue […] St. Catherine (where all the shops and restaurants are). It was a block from the Peel Metro and about 2.5 blocks from the 747 bus stop on Rene Levesque. Very easy to get to and from the airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful rooms, but..."
Chez Swan is very reasonably priced, the rooms are beautiful, and the location of the hotel is great, but unfortunately my stay here was not a great experience. The shower did not work properly in the first room we stayed in, so they switched us to a bigger room with a functioning shower. In this second room, the Air Conditioner did not work at all. […] We complained about this to the front desk, and were told to wait 10-15 minutes for the AC to kick in. The AC never kicked in, and the room was stifling hot. There was a problem with the key card machine, so we did not get keys to the room; the front desk person had to let us in the room each time we returned to the hotel. I almost felt like I was staying at a youth hostel, rather than a hotel. The staff was nice and friendly, but nothing in the hotel seemed to be working that weekend. The Hotel Swann was just what we expected- chic and trendy. It is a combination of minimalist and decadent. The hotel is sparse, staff are SUPER friendly! The room is a good size, but the double shower is fantastic! Very luxurious! The bed is hard, but the pillows are like rocks. BYOP!! The air conditioning is cold, which was good because it was very […] hot during our stay last weekend. Housekeeping did not replenish the shampoo, conditioner, etc., but when we alerted the front desk, they brought it right up and apologized. The location is perfect - on a side street, so quiet, but centrally located so that you can walk everywhere. If you are looking for a change from the Marriotts of the world, this is your place!! "Hotel Chez Gaga"
Service was great. Called for an iron and new towels, got them in a matter of minutes. Though when asking how to get places or about the parking, they certainly lacked.Genuine Expedia guest review
Eclectic well located hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal. Only limitation is lack of coffee. For that, one must visit the restaurant/bistro that shares the building or wander down the block. A great little hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great boutique hotel"
Such a chic cute small hotel, the rain shower is the best shower I've ever taken. Only complaint is the spin room which is instead of a gym, the tv wasn't working in it and the floor in that room needed cleaning badly, but the rest of the hotel was super clean. Would def stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good,but not great hotel"
The decoration of the hotel room is kind of unique. Room is not that big, but clean. Bathroom is pretty big and clean. Nice LCD TV and furniture. One thing that I was not satisfied is the weird smell of the hotel, like leaked gas or something. And the hotel does not provide free parking and you have to pay $22 for overnight parking nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bohemian interior very pleasing"
We loved this hotel. We were greeted warmly and checked in quickly. The car Park is just a few yards down the Street but don't be tempted into the open ones across the Rd. The hotel gave us a $4 coupon and we left the car for more than 16 hours for just $22 The bohemian interior was very pleasing and the comfort of the beds and linen were 5 star.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for Romance"
My wife and i enjoyed the shower window that looked into the main room. A great hotel for a romantic weekend in Montreal. Close to all the shopping in St Cats and some nightlife on Crescent. A bit of a walk to 'Old Town' - but my wife and I walked down there every day nonetheless, even at night. My only complaint would be that the rooms should have […] a small refrigerator - a necessity for out-of-town long distance travelers. The room was spacious, so it certainly would fit. "Gr8 location, courteous people, lacks few amenities"
Location is great. Rooms were squeaky clean, unique decor, and very helpful staff. But, Parking in downtown Montreal is a hassle, and hotel's contracted parking space costs too much, not to mention once you park the car, you can not take it out for next 24 hours without paying when you want to park again. A small fridge in the room or a business center-esque […] desk in the lobby could make the stay just a tad bit more pleasant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Chez Swann Hotel Boutique - downtown Montreal"
The hotel was very nice; modernly decorated with an inviting feel. The standard room was smaller than we anticipated but the bathroom was very spacious and it was definitely enough room for two of us. The breakfast in the attached restaurant each morning, I would probably call something like gourmet breakfast pastries, different from our habitual bowl […] of cereal but very nice. Also nice that the hotel, rooms A very small amount of people so it felt homely walking in and out without getting stuck in a big crowd. The location was perfect, right in the middle of downtown Montreal, close to the Bell Centre, walking distance to plenty of bars and shops. A couple of the concierges couldn't speak very good English though so we occasionally weren't able to get a lot of tourist help from them. The only real complaint we had was that there was an unpleasantly funk smell that wafted through our room. We weren't sure if it was from the cleaning or the fan, it woke us up one night smelling fairly unpleasant but I suppose it was our fault for not asking to change rooms. "Hotel Chez Swann - unique hotel"
I stayed at the Hotel Chez Swann for 2 nights on business. I am in Montreal frequently and usually am staying by the airport in Dorval so any opportunity to stay downtown in relished. This hotel was very unique, but a great change of pace. The rooms were fairly small, but well appointed. The only complaint I would have is that is was a tad noisy the […] 2nd morning as the people above sounded like they were just pacing their room for 2 hours or so, but it wasn't a huge deal. The free breakfast (pastries and coffee) was excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect. Parking was very reasonable only a half a block down for $18/night. The one con would have to be the lack of a sign for the hotel. However, they are waiting on approval, so it's forgivable. Our room had a floor-to-ceiling window in the shower that looked into the bedroom. I couldn't get over that particular feature. "Great hotel nice and close to Crescent St."
Had an amazing time at Chez Swann. We started off in 308 which was a gorgeous room with great sitting area and bay window. We had one hiccup, really it was our own preference and no fault of the hotel, but our room just wasn't quite cool enough so Chris at the front desk quickly fixed that for us and switched us into 309 which was even better. Again, […] gorgeous bed, big bay window and double shower. The staff in general were great both at the hotel and the restaurant. Chris in particular was a great help throughout the entire stay. I would recommend Hotel Chez Swann to anyone. It's a great boutique hotel in a great area. 5 minute walk to the bell centre and close to tons if restaurants. We will be back for sure. "Needs some work."
We had the standard room and stayed for 5 nights. We were located in room 310 which seemed great to start but we found out it had some issues. The biggest issue was there was no way to adjust the shower temperature which was always set to extremely hot. We had seen other people had this issue and was hoping it would of been fixed. We had brought it […] up to hotel staff and they said they would look in to it. Our hand towels weren't changed daily and we had the same two glasses our entire trip. (We even placed one by the garbage can to see if they would get the hint but they just put it back on the table.) We only received soap to wash our hands every second day and on our second last day they took our soap and didn't give us any! The two hottest days of our trip we didn't get the complimentary bottled water we were supposed to receive but on the third day we finally got some. There is no coffee maker and no mini fridge in the room. The hotel is really pretty and so was the room (it was the one of the smallest on our floor but it was certainly not too small) but there is just some cleanliness issues that need to be addressed as well as the obvious pluming issues. The AC was great and easily adjustable. We didn't have a window to the outside in our room but we were able to block out the light from the skylight easily with the curtains.
