Nonsuch was a delightful way for my husband and I to end our two-week honeymoon on Antigua. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and the quality of service was exceptional. Our room was well kept and the kitchen was well-stocked with anything you'd need to prepare your own meals. Everything was very clean and easy to find. It definitely made for a […] relaxing stay. It would have been nice if we'd been given an option on which room we stayed in since the resort was not fully booked. We were placed near two families and were woken up early on most mornings due to the activity of the children staying nearby. We didn't mention it to the hotel staff, but in hindsight would have wished we asked to be moved or would have appreciated them asking our preference on where we stayed (first v. second floor, near others v. a few doors down, etc.) from the very start. The hotel offers a range of activities and we took advantage of a couple. For honeymooners the hotel offered some great treats, which we really appreciate - champagne, a fruit platter and a sunset sail. Like I said above the service could not be better. The setting is gorgeous and is pretty far removed from anything else - which makes it a nice, quiet area, but also a bit difficult to get to. They do take care of you though, offering rides to and from the airport and offering assistance with directions if you're driving yourself. It's definitely a bit of paradise at Nonsuch! Read more

We rented the townhouse (four adults and 2 children) and couldn't have been happier. The kitchen was relatively well stocked with utensils, particularly for a rental, which allowed us to cook many meals at home. It […] appears that Nonsuch was a victim of the real estate downturn as most of the townhouse units appear unfinished. However, the one we rented was as advertised, with a very nice decor. The beach is not really in walking distance of the townhouse, but is nice (not the best beach in Antigua). It is also far away from everything (good and bad points) so you'll need to rent a car, but one of the best beaches we found (Half Moon Bay) was only a quick 10 minute drive away. Other beaches and attractions are much further, but that would be the case in several other areas as well. This is ideal for a family or group of people looking to stay in a more secluded area. We stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience. The resort was gorgeous, quiet, relaxing and romantic and the staff was wonderful and answered any request we had. We went in the off season, which pretty much meant we had the resort to ourselves with just a few other couples. Make sure to book a trip to Green Island with the water sports folks, the snorkeling on this private island/beach was well worth the trip! When planning where to take our couples weekend getaway, we looked at several different places before deciding on Antigua. We had never even heard of Nonsuch Bay Resort, but I assure you EVERYONE I have spoken to since, knows about this amazing place. We have traveled a lot and have stayed in some of the best hotels, but NONE of them even come close […] to the people and customer service at Nonsuch Bay. Zoe is absolutely amazing! She made our stay spectacular. Anything we needed, they made it possible. Territa was wonderful! She arranged for someone to get us additional groceries and other items from town and delivered to our room before we returned from the island. Kimba was our water sports tour guide - he was wonderful. Green Island is a small island across the way from Nonsuch Bay that we snorkled at 2 days. He made our visits to Green Island so wonderful and if we wanted, would deliver us lunch. The customer service at this place was nothing short of spectacular! We normally like to try a new place each time we vacation, however, we will be back to Nonsuch Bay very soon. It was the best vacation I've ever had. The resort, villa and staff far exceeded our expectations. It was gorgeous with a fully equiped kitchen we used to cook meals which really helped keep down expenses. As for groceries, we did have to go back to St. John to get those. We went to the Epicurion which it is a large, US type grocery store. We rented an SUV as suggested in other reviews and […] it was definitely the way to go. It allowed us the freedom to go to other beaches and see the island without having to take expense tours. The drive back and forth to the resort does get old but at the same time that is what makes it very secluded! We ate dinner there twice. It was suggested we request curried goat for dinner since it is an island speciality. The kitchen will accommodate special requests if at all possible. At breakfast we asked and at dinner it was noted to be a special for the evening! It was terrific and it ended up selling out so it was a win win for everyone but the goat (I am a vegetarian, it was for my husband). As for the snorkeling to Green Island, go first thing in the morning or after 2pm as tour groups tend to be there in the middle of the day. We went one day at 2pm and were literally the only people there. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to vary the menus for breakfast and dinner (we didn't eat any lunches there) since they didn't change during the course of the week except for our goat dinner request. This was an upscale quiet resort , the best thing was the great apartment - 2 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, great balconies. The restaurant was high quality but a fairly small menu :( . The beach again small but the infinity pools x2 lovely. The restaurant was slow and the food fair. The sailing instructions, scenery, setting were excellent. No exercise facilities nor any tennis or running paths, very hilly. Overall the views were fantastic but long way to go before it gets anything over a 4 rating.

Bad location. Very far from everything and you travel down a dirt road with no signs at all. I booked a waterfront villa and received a sliver of water view, not waterfront. Even the staff was laughing that it's not categorized properly. We booked a 3 bedroom with kitchen and you would think there would be a minibar or drinks, water, snacks or welcome […] fruit basket, nope. No beverages of any sort. Restaurant is closed 2 days a week and we had to take a $100 cab ride to eat and that's the closets place. Hotel should pay for that but they didn't. Very limited restaurant menu when it is open. These are private villas managed by someone. Not a 4 star at all. Stay away. Do not recommend. Read more

I can't say enough good things about Anigua and our stay at Nonsuch Bay Resort. The pictures don't lie, this place was so beautiful and well kept. All the staff was wonderful, always ready to help you however they can. They remember you by name and at the restaurant they even remember all your preferences. David at the bar makes the best rum punch ! […] The resort is off the beaten path but thats what we loved about it, rent a car and drive around the Island and explore. Stop at some road side bars and restaurants and eat with the locals they are very friendly. We highly recommend this place. Read more

The grounds of this property are beautiful. If you like water sports, this is the place to stay. If you enjoy a relaxing swim in the pool, the property has 3 infinity pools, one better than the other. The restaurant is great. I think it is the best restaurant on the island.

Booked a first floor 2-bed apartment and on arrival was very pleased with location in the complex(R 311) Very close to beach, reception, restaurant etc.. Some of the larger apartments/villas are much higher up and present quite a climb. Non-Such is a wonderful sailing resort, quiet, and peaceful, definitely worth the drive across the island. A fabulous location and excellently run particularly if you love sailing. There is not much to do if sailing and swimming are not your thing and the restaurant and drinks are very expensive for what they are.

Hotel was OK, rooms (beach-front villa) very nice. Restaurant only had small number of meal choices. Hotel very quiet in off-season. Location at far end of island from St Johns, down a long gravel road makes it difficult to get anywhere on the island. Location is on windward side of island, therefore windy and water quite choppy.

First thing first: do not go there for the beach. The beach is actually very nice and well kept, but the water is far from attractive: it's full of algae and not very inviting for a swim. Everything else is perfect. Rooms (large, luxurious, and clean - we stayed in one of the two-bedroom beach cottages), the restaurant (excellent food and great value), […] sailing and wind/kite surfing. The location is remote, at the opposite end of the most developed part of the island, and the road to get there very bumpy, especially the last three miles. You need a car and the next restaurant is either in English Harbour (30 minutes), Long Bay (20 minutes) or St John (30 minutes). Half Moon bay (beautiful beach) is 15 minutes away. With all that, I'd definitely go back. The place is spotless, the service seamless and the bay itself unspoilt. Great find. Read more
