This was the first time I have stayed at a hostel and it was a fantastic experience. I was pleased with the welcome and the emphasis on comfort and a comfortable experience in an aggregate setting. They set a high bar for service and comfort.

The HIC was very nice in keeping clean. Rooommate(s) were courteous and quiet. Customer Service was there whenever a question needed answered. GREAT STAY & UNDERRATED !!!

This is an amazing city and the Hostel is the best way to stay in the city. It's less then a 5 minute walk to the EL trains-- the Orange Line will get you to Midway Airport. It's close to the Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park and many other attractions. As far as ammenities go... The Hostel provides breakfast. It's not a fancy egg and […] bacon and pancake breakfast, just your staples: toast, bagels, fruit, and cereal which for $34 a night was fine with me. You do clean your own dishes which once again was fine with me. My room had 4 bunk beds, but there was consistently one not being used. I guess your experience will depend on the people you share your room with. The people who I roomed with were polite and respectful. The 2 sinks and 1 toilet and 1 shower were always available when I needed them so I had no problem sharing. Overall this was a great experience and I can't wait to go back again. Word of Advice: Buy a City Pass! It's $94 that will get you into 5 attractions and you get to skip the line. Saved me a 3 hour wait at the Aquarium! Read more

The staff members at the front desk were very helpful! Excellent location, in the middle of the Chicago Loop. Conveniently close enough to the rail system. The hostel offers walking tours around the Chicago area every weekend. At the information desk, they provide lists of events around town during your stay. Highly recommended hostel!

You got what you paid. If you're not picky, it's a good choice. Be ware, if you're not a club memeber, you'll be charge additional $3. I just stayed there for one night. There are 3 other persons in the room. My bed is very soft. I'm very lucky--there's no roomates snoring. The hotel is near the subway. So you can hear the voice of the train. At first I was disappointed at getting a hostel to stay at, but I found out this is not your average hostel! The desk people were friendly and informative, the room was large and very clean, and not to mention had the warmest blankets I had during my whole stay in Chicago! La Salle and Jackson CTA stops are a short walk away, and the State Street shops […] are right around he corner, providing many clothing and pharmacy shops. There are many restaurants around, big chains like McDonald's and Dairy Queen but also some local fare, Pauly's Pizza was the best pizza I've had in a long time, and Max's Take Out offers burgers and hot dogs at really cheap prices. Both had extremely friendly workers and are great bites on a budget. The Willis (Sears) Tower is also within walking distance if you're like me and like to take it by foot. All in all, I was extremely happy with my stay and am recommending it to my friends who are coming to visit in the summer. There are computers for pay by use, laundry facilities, and a cafe attached to the hostel, and free wifi if you brought your laptop. Great service, awesome location, and all the public transport around will definitely cut your cab budget by a lot. It was he perfect place to relax during the weekend and I'd stay here again. Hostels aren't for everyone. I personally loved it! I got to meet a lot of awesome people. Everything was phenomenal. The hostel is safe, huge, and has all the amenities you could possibly imagine. The 2nd floor lobby is great for getting work done, and there's free Wifi everywhere in the building! It's much different being a bit older & staying at a hostel... I understood that going in, so I can't be dissatisfied, but it does remind me how I value my peace & quiet. Dorm room setting & obnoxious young college-aged & below being loud in the hallways... Can't beat the price though... I guess it all balances out...

If you are older and are getting a dorm room. Ask for a lower bunk upper bunk tricky for some of us that are of a certain age. But a very economical way to stay in Chicago if all you need is a place to rest.

Nonetheless, the location and cost pulled me in, and the opportunity to meet a variety of people. I was not disappointed in any way. The facility was clean, comfortable and quiet.
