We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The pool was great. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the splash pool. The steam room and hot tub were wonderful. We wished they could be open a little later. The bunk beds were loved and the surprise cookie for the kids in the afternoon was a great treat! Shower was easy to work & had nice water pressure. The staff were very nice & helpful. The restaurant had good food and good service.

The hotel is located right next to the train station and castle. The staff is great. and the room was comfortable, but not great.

I could not have been happier with my choice of a place to stay, it was perfectly located, very easy to find, and the owners could not have been more helpful with great advice for some things to see while in the area. I will go back, absolutely, if the opportunity arises to travel into the area again. The breakfast was one of the best I had this trip, extra stars for that.

thiscountry this is probably the nicest B&B we have visited in England. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. breakfast was individualized and delicious. I wanted to stay longer. It is not convenient to the train station but there is a taxi service at the station.

I can higly recommend this hotel which is situated outside of Carlisle. On arrival, the owner Martin was extremely friendly and welcoming, explaining the lay-out of the hotel etc. As we had arrived by taxi, Martin also gave us directions on how to get back into Carlisle. The walk is approximately 20 minutes long, along a busy main road. Martin also […] gave us plenty of leaflets on the places to visit. Our room was nicely furnished, central heated and the bed was the most comfortable "hotel" bed we had ever slept in, even the pillows were lovely and soft, so no neck strain the next morning. A full English breakfast can be ordered if wished, there is a good selection of cereals, small amount of chopped fruit. Tea and coffee in abundance. The hotel restaurant isn't open on Mondays, but there are several pubs and hotels close by which serve food, so there is no need to go into Carlisle unless you want to. All the hotel staff who we came into contact with. were all polite and friendly. We will be going back again. Read more
