Overall we were very satisfied. The property is beautiful and very peeaceful.Our only disappointment is the size of the veranda, balcony area. It's so small that two people cant sit outside the room and enjoy the beautiful views. ridiculously small!

the only issue was the hard bed, we fixed that by putting the sofa bed mattress as a pillowtop. room needed aired out as does all closed up rooms in Kauai, overall the cottage was fantastic and pleasant.I would stay there again because of the PERFECT location and the cottage was private.

We had a beautiful 3 bedroom 3bath partial ocean view. Great bed and kitchen was well stocked for 12. Only issue, we had to walk a half mile to the beach at the Sheraton. The pool is wonderful. Really didn't want to go home.

Our stay at Castle Islander on the Beach was really great. Had a great view of the ocean from our lanai. We watched the sunrise almost every morning -... beautiful. The beach was about a 100 feet from our unit and the pool was close by. We enjoyed cooking a few of our meals at the barbacues adjacent to the pool. The pool and the beach was never crowded. The hotel is located close to Kapaha which make grocery shopping etc. very convenient. The Cocunut Market was adjacent to the hotel and there were shops and places to eat - great breakfast place - Eggberts. Our condo completely met our expectations and the staff was helpful and polite. by Ted H from Bellingham Wa. on 03/11/11

First off, the Islander on the Beach is managed by 2 separate management companies, Castle and Aston. Castle does not have an office onsite. The Aston staff provides check-in & check-out services and that is all they can do. The room was adequate with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. However, you will need to buy your own coffee as they only […] supply enough for one pot of coffee..this really bothered me. The room looked clean when we checked in but the daily maid service consited of making the bed and replenishng the bath linens. They did not sweep or vacuum once in 7 days. There is a broom and mop in the closet but I was on vacation. You get two beach towels and they are not replenished even when I asked. The staff at the front desk cannot give us a pool towel because we were guests of Castle. The Sand Bar at the pool is really fun, the pool is great and we had a view of the pool from our Oceanview room. Please keep in mind that each unit is individually owned and managed by Castle properties..this does make a difference in the service provided. I liked the location but I would stay in one of the units managed by Aston for better service. Overall the room met our needs. Kauai is great and we had a wonderful time. Read more
