I don't ussually leave comments but this might help to some of you who's looking for hotels over cancun. First i asked them if they can give me a quite room but they give me a room that right next to the street so i heared all vehicles that pass by the streets. Seems like thier wall are very thin that you can pretty much hear everything. 2nd, we missed […] our tour because the front desk who check us in put the wrong name on my reservation so me miss our tour and ended up paying for our transportation to get to the place. 3rd, the water pressure is so low and your lucky if you have hot water. For the 3 nights me and my friends stay we dont have hot water on our rooms. 4th, i asked them if they can give me a hot water to cook my ramen noodles they said that the kitchen is closed and would not even help you at 2pm in the afternoon. On the plus side - the only plus - the decor was really interesting; Mayan murals everywhere. Beds were horrible, and only had threadbare sheets on the. A/C thermostat was broken; once we turned A/C on, we could not adjust it or turn it off. So we were freezing all night, and of course there was no way to get front desk attention short of getting dressed […] and trooping downstairs. The worst part? The hotel is in central downtown Cancun, so we had the expected street noise. But a full band set up outside and started playing at 2 a.m., and didn't stop until almost 4 a.m. Needless to say, we did not sleep. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is very well nicely decorated/painted. About every square inch is decorated in Mayan art. Our room was comfortable and had wifi and A/C. There was a lack of lighting in the room which was a bit annoying and there was a loud HVAC system outside our window. The pool looked neat, but it did not get much sun. […] We were offered free breakfast in the morning, I think this was the biggest disappointment...they set us outside, tho it was raining and then moved us indoor finally. The fruit was gross and mushy and they gave us a toasted hamburger bun for toast! Also, the coffee was instant coffee which came in a little styrofoam cup...we ended up not really eating anything and just leaving to go to a real restaurant. They made us feel as though we were being pests (to be honest, I am not sure if the restaurant is owned by the hotel, though they are ajoining). The price was right for this hotel, since we booked it on hotels.com, though I would not pay full price for it. If you are looking for a neat place to stay before heading to the airport, I recomment this hotel, though I would not stay here for my entire vacation. Read more

The decor was lovely. Lots of original frescos, sculpture and mosiac tile work with an historical Mayan theme. Not hokey, but the work of a person who cares about Mayan culture. The hotel was beautifully faux-painted in the lobby and on each floor hall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms looked like the pictures. The air conditioning was a wall unit that didn't quite make the room cold, just comfortable (since it was super hot-90s). I wasn't expecting luxury and the hotel room was about what I thought I'd find. […] It was quiet and felt safe. The sink was slow and the toilet flushing lever broke but they fixed both right away. There was a great fun restaurant just steps away and several great "local" ones really close/one right next door. The city bus to go anywhere (downtown tourist hotel strip) was easy to walk to and catch and cost about 75 cents-can't beat that. Just step in the street and wave and driver stops for you. People were extremely friendly to us as tourists-we just made sure we said Hola to everyone and their reaction was always great! Hotel lobby had tours to visit the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and it was perfect-tour guide was excellent, bus was comfortable (and cold air!) We got to feel the REAL Mexico for a few days instead of only the big hotel strips where everything is Americanized. It was a great taste of Mexico and made me want to go back with my younger sons. I would not recommend this hotel. it's very shabby, but the worst part is the customer service. We were not given enough towels for the number of people staying in the room, and it was like pulling teeth just to get one extra. The girl at the front desk was very rude about it. We were visiting my brother in law who lives in Cancun and this hotel gave us the freedom we needed to spend time with him. If he wanted to spend the night we would just tell the lobby and pay the extra person fee ... no hassles! This Hotel is nice & we enjoyed our stay but DO NOT expect a 5star hotel! There is no free ice at this hotel but they will […] provide you with some for a small fee. We ate breakfast at the hotel on two occasions and the food was good but I recommend you eat breakfast and lunch at a little restaurant nearby because the food was just as good but the price was cheaper! That restaurant called El Canton Toluqueno. and its located is behind the hotel, right across from the Parque de las Palapas. The Parque de las Palapas gets really nice at night, they sell many yummy snacks and play music, its the locals gathering spot. Read more

If you are planning on not sleeping at all then stay at this hotel. Windows are so thin you could hear everything bathroom window was craked and courtains do not cover the entire window which did not make me feel safe I felt like people could peak into my room. The pool was dirty and full of locals not actual hotel guests.

Great location and great, pleasant service . Nice pool and four restaurants and 3 bars to choose from. Quiet at night after midnight (local nightclub). Hard beds, not much closet space, older hotel. Elevator was out of service and it didn't look like there would be any service for a while ( The sign was tattered). Plenty of area restaurants up the street […] and within 4 blocks of the main bus station (ADO). Easy access to the buses for the Hotel Zone and beaches. (75 cents for the bus). I enjoyed the theme of being inside an ancient Mayan temple. The details everywhere, including the hallways imitating the tunnels of a temple, were interesting. Restaurants were within an easy walk, as well as internet/phone centers about three blocks away. if you want to stay in centro Cancun, this is a good hotel. the Ave it's on is good, safe and lots of food, entertainment. I liked the pool but it's a little small, but clean. The suite was supposed to be garden view. No suites have garden view. Only two towels period. No hand towels, wash cloths. No hot water for the shower at all! Continental breakfast of a little plate of fruit and dry toast. When you tell them them just smile and you know there is nothing they can do. I'll never stay here again

This is not a fancy hotel, nor is it in the hotel district of Cancun. But it was clean, simple and the bed was very comfortable. As a transit hotel before heading down to Cozumel it was an inexpensive and agreeable place. The street in front is busy, but our room faced a side street so the noise was not too bad. There was a window AC but I am not sure […] if it worked since we used only an open window and ceiling fan. It was Easter weekend and the hotel was busy. Most guests, and several of the staff spoke only Spanish which I enjoyed. Another review noted that on Sunday the pool was a gathering place for local families, which appeared to be true during our visit as well. It was crowded, but fun. Breakfast was difficult on Sunday, although later we found that the small cafe in the hotel (near the pool was open). But just a block behind the hotel is a large square with many venders that made for a very tasty brunch. During the evening the street fronting the hotel was very busy with several restaurants to choose from, with reasonable prices and a laid back atmosphere. The room was not bad on itself. However, even thoug it was clean enough, it smelled like sewage! I had to keep the toilet's door closed at all times not to have that horrendous smell. People were very friendly and helpful though. The location is amazing, just in the city centre, very convenient if u need to go to the coach station.

Fantastic maya style art everywhere and nice pool. Rooms are big and kept clean. Easy to take bus near to anywhere or little more expensive taxi. Pretty good restaurant in hotel too. Only beach is little too far but accessable with taxi or bus quickly.

Este hotel esta en una buena zona de Cancun con muchos restaurantes alrededor. Tenia un televisor flat panel y el cuarto era muy limpio. El unico inconveniente era un aire acondicionado ruidoso.
