I have stayed here many times when it used to be Premier Inn. Nothing has changed apart from the introduction of FREE Wifi (yey!! -- had been asking that for ages!) and upgraded flatscreen TVs with digital channels. The facilities available in the motorway service area are a bit basic but the town in only a 10 minute drive away if you want a wide choice […] of take-aways, restaurants and pubs. At short notice I required a hotel that was en route to a business meeting. The Days Inn at Cannock Norton Canes on the M6 Toll road was in the right location being north of Birmingham. It does seem odd having to pay the £5.50 toll fee just to stay at the hotel, but I suppose it is similar to paying a parking fee at other places. The room was basic […] but very clean. The furniture was rather tired looking wooden plywood with veneer, but I wasn't paying for the decor. The room was surprisingly very quiet, given that it was near a Motorway. This is mainly due to the services being set quite a way back from the road, as I couldn't hear any traffic noise even when outside. The bed was very comfortable, much more so than those in another very well known chain being advertised by a large comedian from the Midlands. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I found the pre pay voucher scheme for breakfast useful and it saved me some money. I would stay here again if I was in the area and will try Days Inn at other locations. Read more

The room was really nice and surprisingly good. My only concern is the location. If you need to go back towards the North you will need to pay for M6 Toll..fortunately the Hotel Staff were very helpful and allowed me to exit via the Staff Entrance directly into Cannock.

The hotel has two entrances - one off the Toll Road and one off Bettys lane, Norton Canes. On Bettys Lane there is a small road sign saying 'Travel Inn' which points to a road gated by a pair of very large green gates giving the impression that this entrance is not in use. You have to drive up to the gates and call Reception by pressing a button on […] an intercomm. Better signage would be useful especially at night. The hotel looks like an office block and the public areas are basic but the bedrooms are of a good size, clean, modern and well laid out with everything you would need including tea/coffee making supplies and TV. The bathroom was of a good size with good towels and shower gel dispensers on the wall. Our room overlooked the car park and was very quite and we were able to sleep with the window open. There is a restaurant/cafe on site and pubs and restaurants a few miles away. The hotel offers very good value for money and we would use it again. Read more

We thought the hotel and staff were very nice, the room was clean, comfortable and the bed was confertable it had everything we needed, we had stayed at another groups hotel again for an overnight stay this one was not a patch on your hotel we asked the lady on the front desk of your hotel could she reccommend somewhere to visit on our way home that […] was around the area, she asked us what was our interest and came up with the Trentham Monkey Forest and we had a lovely time there. the room was fine and clean. It was quiet. we arrived after 8.30p.m. to find we couldn't get a hot meal only sandwiches. The advert on Hotel.com said complimentary breakfast, that is not true, what they offer is you pay £7.50 and you get a £10.00 voucher, saves you £2.50!! The room itself was fine though and free parking, just beware of my 2 points […] as we were caught out. I still would of booked even if i knew, i wish we were just informed. Read more

The room was very clean, brand new, and the bed was comfortable. The location was excellent, and being connected to a food outet was very useful. I will stay again quite soon.

In terms of the room itself, no complaints. The standard of service at reception however, needs to improve. We stayed on a Saturday night, and on waking on the Sunday morning discovered that we'd been given only 1 set of towels for 2 to share. I popped down to reception to find no one there, just a sign saying push this button and the receptionist will […] be with you shortly. I waited 10 mins and nobody came to serve me. Very disappointed, what if it had been an emergency? So we had to share towels, and were also unable to buy the breakfast vouchers which give you money off in the neighbouring service area. It was a shame, as the receptionist the night before had been very helpful and friendly, and the hotel itself is well located. Just left with a very negative feeling about the lack of service available that morning. Read more

It took ten minutes to work out how the find the right car park and entrance to this hotel having just come off the M6 toll road. If you want a challenge you will not be disappointed.
