I have used this hotel for over 20 years and it stays great in all ways., the staff is helpful and the quality of service is great. Old but wonderful.

The hotel is a bit far from the center of Antigua, but not too far that cannot be walked. The room is relatively small but had all the expected amenities and then some. Nothing was missing. There was no air conditioning but the weather was so nice it was not needed. In a hot day, that may be a problem. Breakfast was just OK, a bit below par for a B&B. The OJ was not natural.

"5 days in Antigua"
After volunteering in the Highlands for 8 days, coming to the Don Rodrigo was like going to heaven. We stayed 5 days during the Lenten period, and the service and dining at the hotel were superb. We especially liked having breakfast on the patio, watching a woman make tortillas. We stayed in 2 rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, and both were quiet […] ,well-lit, and comfortable. The dining room served authentic food, and the folkloric dancing and marimba players were wonderful. We recommend this, as well as the sister hotel in Panajachel. Read more
"perfect!"
Hotel, staff, location, city, food.... you name it. Perfect all around!! Not much more to say.
This is an enchanting place. When we first stepped through the doorway from the street it was as if we went back in time 300 years. Everything was authentically old from the huge door to the room that opened with a big skeleton key to the fountains in the courtyards. On the downside would be the hard beds (probably typical) and the weak wi-fi.

Nice location, good location!! But price is not worth it!!!No amenities, soap, shampoo,hairdryer, coffee maker...the fine tuning,

Exceptionnel. Un des plus beaux, charmants, plein de cachet que cet boutique hôtel de toute l'Amérique centrale et d'Amérique du Sud. Bien sûr, il y a quelques imperfections mineures mais rien en comparaison avec tout ce que cet ancien couvent plein de charme et de cachet en plein centre d'Antigua offre et que seul plusieurs centaines années peuvent […] construire. "La Posada de Don Rodrigo (Antigua): Fantastic!"
We just spent 4 nights at the Posada de Don Rodrigo (Antigua). It was a wonderful place to stay. It is very centrally located for museums, shops, the central plaza, restaurants, etc.., and very safe. The hotel has a delightful, peaceful, colonial atmosphere, with all the amenities guests want and need. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. […] We loved it! Only two caveats: the rooms along the main street coming into Antigua are a little noisier because of the cobblestones, and the afternoon marimba music, while good, is a little too loud and too long, in my opinion.
