We so enjoyed our stay. We had 4 adults staying in the studio room and we never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchenette was handy and because the bathroom and shower are in a separate room from the sink and counter we were able to share the bathroom area nicely. We only had one glitch with the water not getting hot but we called the […] office and they told us how to deal with this and we were good to go. The facilities are amazing and we had a blast. It's a beautiful area. We loved the cookies that get delivered every evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed - pricey for the room"
This was a very pricey hotel room (studio room)- $200/night. Have stayed in $100 hotel rooms with the same accommodations. The bathroom does not have a vanity to put your toiletries. A Big inconvenience. The view was out to a bunch of trees. There was some wrappers (trash) under the table that was not cleaned up prior to us checking in. The TV is very […] inconveniently located to be viewed from the bed. It was an older TV directed to the very hard to sit on sofa. The walls are thin. The people in the room next to mine made noise up to 11 pm (sounded like they were opening and closing cabinets in their kitchenette.) I would not recommend this to my friends or family. Loved this place. Very easy to handle with multiple young children. Great views. Nice pools. Upbeat people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Almost no detail is overlooked - almost."
Everything about the room, the property, the dining options on site was superb. From the lodge pole pine columns to the deer antler drawer pulls, Big Cedar & the Wilderness Club never fail to deliver quality even in the minutest of details. One stark exception to this; however, was the amount of noise carryover between adjacent rooms. Our 1BR studio […] had a shared door to an adjacent unit (occupied by another party), which seemed to allow an excessive amount of sound to transfer. This flaw would not stop me from staying here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Complete Escape in Branson - Love this place!"
This was our second trip to Big Cedar this year, and we never get tired of it! If you want to completely get away from everything, this is where you want to go. My husband and I took our son a couple of times and have made the trip alone and we loved both experiences. Once you arrive at the resort you don't even have to drive - you can walk the beautiful […] paths or take a shuttle everywhere on the resort property. We took our son on the Polar Express train ride on Main Street, which is only a 15 minute drive away. The food is wonderful at the resort restaurants, but if you rent a unit with a kitchen they provide everything you need - even the laundry and dish detergents. This resort is a true outdoors resort, with horseback riding, boating, fishing, swimming, playgrounds, etc. or you can just snuggle up by the fireplace. Dogwood Canyon is nearby, and I would highly suggest going. They have 3+ miles of paved trails with beautiful scenic views. You can rent bikes, take a tram, or walk the path. I believe everyone needs to experience this resort. It's truly magical. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at Big Cedar when we were picking our son up from Kanakuk camp. We booked it online, not knowing what a great place it was. We were pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful and well-maintained resort it was. We will definitely stay there again when we head back to Kanakuk!!Genuine Expedia guest review

"beautiful grounds, great room, friendly staff, lots of trails"

i purchased two nights at wilderness club on ebay just for a getaway and was so surprised how beautiful it is here. i stayed in james river lodge and had a studio with a king bed, sofa sleeper, kitchen, balcony and one bath. the decor is all upscale and very nice. the bed was super comfortable. the lodges have exterior doors which as a woman travelling solo this time I am not crazy about--needs better lighting outside also. but overall this cannot be beat for the priced i paid. there are nice restaraunts on site, lots of hiking, things to do and you can run into branson in 15 min and shop till you drop or take in a show. be sure and check out dogwood canyon. i was married there 10yrs ago and the beauty there is breathtaking with the streams, mountains, limestone bluffs. the park is about 16 miles from here. I plan to bring the family back for another stay. i am here in winter and i'm sure it's really busy in summer. Loved it!!
"Heaven on earth!"

This place is a slice of heaven. Away from the main glitz and busy town of Branson right on the Arkansas-Missouri border. Quiet, breathtaking views, as close to nature as it gets without giving up the necessities. Clubhouse is awesome with kiddies pool and outdoor hot tub. Loved the small cove with the peddle boats, the walkways winding through the property and the views from the lodge. Great/friendly staff. Access is interesting and the hill is very steep so be careful during inclement weather. Will definitely be back for more great family memories.
"Very peaceful and relaxing!"

Stayed in a two bedroom suite, was very spacious and had everything you would need. Lots to do and beautiful grounds. Did some geocaching with the family and friends while we were there, there were many right on the grounds. Checked out movies from the club house and loved the hot tea and coffee available too! Husband got in some trout fishing close by. Will be back!

My wife received this as a retirement gift from a gratefull parent of one of her students. Spent two night in a two bedroom cabin that was top of the line. Accomodations and amenities were just fantastic.
"A great family or romantic place to stay."

This is our most favorite place to stay. From the indoor pool for the kids, lounge with tea and coffee to the Buzzards bar where we all love to eat and watch the sunset. We had a third floor room with an amazing few.
"Great Weekend Getaway"
01/09/14 ZSmithcoach Springfield, Missouri
My wife and I stayed here over a weekend and it was very relaxing. One thing I was very impressed with was the tram service offered. If you wanted to travel to any place in the resort a tram would pick you up. This kept us from getting lost and really cut down on traffic. Also in the first two hours of being in our room our neighbors were being quite loud. I understand that this is a family resort but they were being obnoxiously loud. I called the front desk and they promptly responded by having the manager Sal contact our neighbors. He then called back awhile later to make sure they had quieted down. I rather appreciated that. It snowed during our stay with a temp of -2 degrees at one point. They had employees in salt trucks and bobcats clearing the parking lots and roads for the duration of the snowfall. They put forth the effort to keep people safe. The restaurants were delicious. I feel that normally when you dine in a resort the chefs just heat something up in a microwave. Our food actually had flavor and service was always great. We had a Sunday brunch at the Devil's Pool and dinner in the Buzzard Bar below. On one evening we went to the Billiards Bar which is 21 and up and had a relaxing evening. All in all it is a great couples getaway and a fun place to be.
"Beautiful place not sure not sound proof..."
01/02/14 beachbumwantabe arkansas
This is our 3rd visit to Big Cedar Wilderness and our 2nd time to have problems with noise. I called the front desk (8:00 am) after our first night and ask if we could be moved to the upper floor. I told them that it sounded like the people above us were wearing concrete shoes and moving furniture. She ask me if I had called last night to complain because they could go talk to our upstairs guest. I said No, I hadn't because it really wasn't during quiet hours. Two hours later the noise had not stopped. I called back to the desk and ask again if we could be moved. She said that they were full (which there is no way that was true because days before there had been an ice and snow storm and the place was basically empty). She offered to send up a fan to give us some "white noise". I knew this would not help. We were gone all day to SDC and when we came back that evening....back to the noise. I went upstairs just to see what was going on....and from outside of that room, I couldn't hear a thing. The guest were not being unruly so I did not want to complain against them because it is just the sound proofing of the rooms! On our last stay, it was the room beside us. You could hear their conversations like we were in the same room. I really hate to complain about this, but it is a problem. I have now seen other guest of complain of the same problem. It's a beautiful place but it's not very relaxing if you have guest above you or beside you.
"Big Cedar Wilderness is Off the Charts especially at X-mas!"
12/25/13 nuftravel Chicago, Illinois
Big Cedar Wilderness Club any time of year is great, but Christmas is extra special. We spent X-mas at the resort and there were wonderful activities available to participate in that were free. Big Cedar had a Christmas Eve nondenominational ceremony in the convention center complete with hot cocoa and beautifully decorated sugar cookies. Santa pulled in on his horse drawn carriage on Christmas Eve. It is always fun to bring a bag of carrots or apples to feed the horses. We find the best deals for Big Cedar Wilderness Club on Craigslist St. Louis. We like the two bedroom lodge units the best as they offer the most space 1,350 square feet and two kitchens vs. the cabins 1000 square feet. Breakfast buffet at Devil's Pool was delicious for !3./person. A free shuttle on property makes getting around the resort a breeze. The cookie lady visits every evening dropping off cookies and you receive a free newspaper M-F at your door.

This location has something for everyone. Located right on Table Rock Lake with a private marina. This is a wonderful place, very comfortable rooms, excellent amenities. We will definitely be returning.
"Worst customer service EVER!!!"
12/17/13 TRRIDER Arkadelphia, Arkansas
We live 4.5 hours away. We stayed Thanksgiving and were to return 2 weeks later with work. We forgot our bag with shoes in it. I called, the next day the sweetest lady called back and said she was putting them in lost and found and I could call Sal when I got back 2 weeks later and get them. I call him and tell him we are an hour away. We get there 1.5 hours later and Sal, the manager, tells me he hasn't had time but I can wait. I sit and wait 15-20 minutes, get the bag and go to my room. After going through the bag I realize I'm missing my son's new nike shoes. I call a total of 7 times, talking to several people, all telling me they will have Sal look and finally getting to talk to Sal he says he will call someone else to check. Needless to say none of my promised 7 calls were ever returned. I went to find Sal as I was checking out, he promptly looked down at what he was doing and told me "oh yeah, they said nothing else was found". He never once looked at me while speaking! I find it very hardto believe that that one pair of shoes fell out of my closed bag but regardless I deserve an answer!!! I have since emailed the address that is asked to be emailed at the end of all of these reviews, and guess what....no response!!! I'm so disappointed because we spent our honeymoon here, we have spent almost every Christmas here and this past thanksgiving and I have to say, I think I'm done! I have never been treated like this, EVER!
