Carousel Inn on the Beach - Fort Myers Beach

Was a little nervous after reading some trip advisor reviews but fortunately we found Our room to be spacious and very clean. We loved having the kitchen with all of the tools to make breakfast. They did not provide coffee or paper towels however after we asked the office they provided both. The only negative comment I have about the actual accommodations […] is the beds. They were pretty hard and there was some kind of plastic covering beneath our sheets that was pretty obvious and crinkled when we moved. Yes the establishment is older and I wish we actually had a beach view from our room, but overall the area was really nice, the beach was gorgeous, and we even liked the couple of chairs in front of our room so we can sit outside and hang out. We also really enjoyed the pool and hung out there all day. Off of the pool where the bathroom is they also have a shower which we liked so that way after we checked out we hung out all day at the Pool and then were able to take a shower and get dressed and do something else even though we didn't have a room available to us at that point because we had already checked out. This is an older, updated hotel. Overall it's clean and seems well maintained. The staff was very pleasant and we loved being right on the beach. The only complaint was the parking, but it wasn't a real problem. We would definitely stay again.

It's difficult for me to not want to give this hotel a one star. The hotel overall is a fine place to stay, clean and comfortable. BUT when I booked the hotel the description called for gulf view. When I got there we were put in a room that was next to the pool at the front of the hotel (no where near a "gulf view" room). I even tried the sofa bed to see if it was any better - it was just a half step worse. Nothing bad to say, just a short drive to the main shopping area downtown, grocery store just down the road, and a great restaurant right across the street! Complete kitchen with stove, and refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and all you would need to cook. Can't wait to go back!

The hotel was OK for me, nice pool and very close to the beach. The available free parking is a plus especially in Miami beach. the only min point is that there is no wifi in the rooms only in the lobby.

For an older hotel, this one is quiet charming. The room was large, WI-FI worked good. Having a kithenette was wonderful for a family - cook your own food. Need to bring coffee as they don't have it in the room or at the front desk. But bed was very uncomfortable. Our family enjoyed our stay. We had never been to Fort Myers beach before. It was quiet the four nights we stayed, the room was clean and it was nice having a full kitchen. I had called ahead, twice, to let them know we would be checking in late. The girl said we needed to get there before 10pm, or we would have to find our keys taped on the door. She wasn't kidding. We pulled up, and there was our envelopes with our names on them, taped to the outside of the door, as she was getting ready to leave. We ran in to the desk […] to sign the paperwork, and I looked down at the time on my phone. The time was 9:55. So, we actually pulled up at 9:51. It wasn't 10 yet, and she was leaving alittle early. And what if we did get there later? Who else could have taken those keys on the outside like that? Our other complaint would be, that if you are a hotel/motel by a beach, your guest will be showering alot because of the dirty sand and salt. Sooo.....there should be a complimentry blow dryer in the room, manditory......but there is not. So we had to go find Wal-mart to get one. And it would be nice if they had a full length mirror on the outside of the bathroom door, so when there is more than one person trying to get ready, it would help alot. And to see all of yourself. We were getting ready for our sister's wedding. And also, the closet isn't for long dresses, large shirts, anything long. And, light bulbs were out in the bathroom and lamps. This hotel's greatest asset is location, location, location! Right on the beach and near local shops and the movie theater for those afternoon rain showers. It is perfect. The room was clean and the property well kept. Front door balconies allow each room a view of the beach. Pool was not much to speak of but we were there for the Gulf anyway. At first we were in room 131...stay out of there. Then we were moved into #125. Very nice room. Kitchen not well equipped with utencils if you plan to stay long, but ok. Great beach location.Very well maintained. Very good value. BBQ pits need cleaning.
