Overall I was very pleased with this hotel. Hotel serviced was excellent, free breakfast was good not great, and the free happy hour is well worth it. As most people have said, parking is the only downside. You have two choices for parking, first you can use the hotel valet which is $30/day or you can choose one of the many parking lots located around […] the hotel which is $10 for day parking and $20 for overnight parking. So if you are going to be there during the day and overnight you might as well go with the valet parking through the hotel. If you get upset over the $30 dollar parking fee than make up the difference at the bar for the free happy hour! Overall I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this hotel to everyone. "beaware of parking"
the only problem we had with this hotel is that they charge $30 a day for the parking. they only have Valet parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All was good except they didn't keep towels available at the pool. If you called, they would bring out maybe a dozen, which would almost instantly be gone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outstanding rooms, breakfast and value!"
Out go-to spot for Houston. Perfect for Toyota center games/events. Good-sized, comfy, fashionably-decorated rooms. Breakfast is top-notch and managers mixer is nice too. I have always felt the staff is very well trained and accommodating. Stayed here for biz many times and with kids, too. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location to Minute Maid Park."
Everything was great. Just didn't like the sliding bathroom door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend with family"
The hotel was nice but for breakfast they need more seating area and staff. Valet parking was like no valet because valet was full and parked my own car. Rooms are nice except the bathroom door didn't have a lock just a slide door. overall I give the hotel a 3.5Genuine Expedia guest review
"Parking is a rip off"
Nice hotel once inside. Between the class of people walking around the place at night and the price of the parking regrettably that is what I will remember. I understood the only option for valet parking after seeing the folks walking about outside the hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"My Houston Experience"
The accommodations were superb. The staff were very courteous and professional. The breakfasts were out of this world good. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Embassy Suites to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time at the Embassy Suites downtown... The hotel's concierge was great - always willing to help with anything and very welcoming when arriving to the hotel. The free shuttle service in the brand new GMC Yukon was very convenient! The breakfast and free happy hour were the icing on the cake. We stayed at the hotel while taking in a few […] Astros games at the park nearby. I will definitely recommend this hotel to any future travelers to Houston. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Easy walk to Minutemaid Field"
Always enjoy this hotel...spacious room, courteous service, & a variety of breakfast options are all great. Minutemaid Park, Discovery Green! & George R. Brown Convention Ctr are all close by. After a long day of running around, it would be wonderful to enjoy a pay per view movie (not available) along with popcorn (in room microwave) & beverages (in […] room fridge). "Very clean, great service and lots to do!"
My Husband and I absolutely *loved* this Hotel. We've stayed at other Embassy Suites in various cities but this one topped them all BY FAR. The rooms were so modern and very clean, the walk in shower could easily fit 3 adults, the grounds were clean, the staff were professional and very warm, the pool area is small but that's to be expected for a roof […] top pool but it was clean, lots of sun beds and in a great location of the Hotel. The only negative I can report is breakfast. The food was good but the line was pretty long however, there was a convention a the time of our stay so there were a ton of guests. Maybe in events such as this they can allot more staff to counter the rush. Still, the breakfast being free made me not really care too much about the wait but I know some people wouldn't be happy. We recently went to Houston to take our 2 grandsons to a Red Sox / Astros game. The hotel is very nice, and the staff were so considerate and helpful. I would stay there again without hesitation!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Houston Astro's & College Visit"
We loved the hotel; breakfast was great and the staff worked very hard. Pool needed some attention but we informed the staff and they will look into it. Valet parking seemed a bit high to me $32.xx per night - being downtown and out of town didn't know where to park for a more reasonable rate - nonetheless the valet staff was very nice and helpful. […] Internet speeds could be a bit faster but understand when you have a zillion guests everyone gets a small piece of the Internet. Would go back again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The embassy was very nice and clean, the pool, and entrance and parking at front was a bit on the smaller side. The rooms were very nice and large. It was a bit strange that the restrooms did not have a lock on them. Oh yeah the free breakfast and nightly social was nice. I did sense that the staff was not all briefed on the time schedules for the restaurant […] and bar because i got all different times from different people. Also one thing that I did not like was that there was no self parking it was all valet? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Everything was perfect for my business needs at the Convention Center in Houston .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Extremely accommodating to dogs and families. Pool is very nice! Breakfast was delicious and very filling and free drinks and appetizers during happy hour were great. Hotel was very spacious and clean. Even had a free shuttle to grocery store. Staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great room, especially for the price. Plenty of space with separate bedroom and living room. Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries were a plus. Great views of downtown Houston. Only complaint is not being warned about the lack of hotel parking. You either have to park on the street and pay the meter every three hours, or pay $20 to stay in an adjoining lot […] that might already be full. Less than ideal, but overall I would definitely recommend the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Downtown Houston Location"
I have nothing negative to say. Even after thinking about it...nope...still nothing negative. Very polite staff, nice clean rooms, good food. Ticked every box. We enjoyed the close proximity to discovery park, where my kids had a blast running through the fountains in the Houston heat, and where we went to watch a movie on a big screen in the evening. All […] in all...a very good experience at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"FYI: your room type is not guaranteed!"
Excited about our trip to the 2014 Rugby game between USA Eagles and Scotland, we booked our room far in advance requesting and booking into a double Queen with sleeper sofa. When we arrived we were told we had been " upgraded" to a a corner room with a King and sofa sleeper. We explained that we did not sleep together they said well there is a comfortable […] sleeper sofa. We do like to sleep in the same room! The sofa and king are not together:( Then when using the shuttle to go .09 miles to the stadium we were assured that we would have no problem getting the shuttle back.( we had two children in our party under 4) you guessed it, the shuttle never came! So we walked. It was a lovely night but after waiting an hour with 3 promises from the hotel that it would be there in 10 mins. It was frustrating. We could have walked straight away instead of waiting the hour. The hotel is lovely. These were just FYI things for you to know before you book. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I had a wonderful, weekend stay in the Downtown Houston Embassy Suites. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, breakfast, and comfortable room furnishings. "Charged me the wrong amount"
The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is that they charged me $100 more than what I booked it for on expedia. After I showed them proof they refunded me the difference so make sure there is some kind of confirmation you can present at time of check in because now it will take a week for the refund to be given back to me. This was a mistake […] on their part Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Our experience at the Embassy Suites was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We were a large group traveling with 20 children under the age of 9. Not once were we made to feel like we were intruding or shouldn't be there. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly at all times. The facilities are of high quality. "Worth every penny"
We needed to get a good night's rest in Houston as we were going to drive to El Paso the next day, so we decided to splurge and stay at the Embassy Suites downtown. The location is great being next to a park with several bars and cafes within walking distance. The staff, room service, rooms, and breakfast/cocktails were all excellent. Overall the stay […] was worth every penny and we made great time to El Paso the next day being well rested and energized. The only downside to the stay was that we didn't know parking works through an automated ticket machine located in the middle of the parking lot, so when we arrived we were taken for $20 by a gentleman selling parking passes at the entrance to the parking lot. This was mostly our fault as we should've looked into it before arriving or asked the staff first, but still disappointing since the lot was right next to the hotel and appeared to be under the hotel's control. "Great Value for your Money"
We were pleased with this booking, great value for our money. The room was clean and spacious, perfect for 3 adults and a 1 yr. old baby. The furniture and decor were contemporary and I loved the bright colors. We got the breakfast included and it was worth every penny, plus we got snacks (veggies with ranch, potato wedges, spinach dip, chips and salsa/beans/humus) […] to go with the open bar from 5pm-7:30pm. The only thing I didn't don't like was the fact that the hotel is on a corner and had really no space for guests to park and go check in, it was like literally on the street, no covered, drive through area... Plus, the only parking is Valet parking (through the hotel) but I failed to read that :) there is an adjacent public parking for $10 per day or $20 overnight but is Not In and Out and some parking on the street with meters. $30 plus tax will give you valet (per day!) which is convenient and in and out. However the hotel should give an all stay rate rather than charging per night. There is a pool, decent size and a jacuzzi, location is right downtown, across the street from discovery green and the convention center on the other side, very peaceful in this Memorial Day weekend. We were pleased and will definitely go back again. Hope this helps you in the decision to go for this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The "condition" of the air............"
The hotel room had a couple of "quirks" that we should have been advised of. The room was HOT. We immediately turned it down. It wasn't cooling down. I called the desk and they said that it takes about 15 minutes for it to come on. We turned on the TV. Scrambled on every channel. I called the front desk. She said "put the TV on channel 6 and within […] a few minutes it should work". This information was not shared with us. The AC came on and didn't cool. Next morning, maintenance checked it all out and said it was, but agreed that it was warm. He said they were pretty empty so we should change to a room at the end of the hall because the unit in the room was larger. He said he would speak to the manager and we should call. We did and she stated that the hotel was "booked' and we couldn't be moved. A few hours ago they were "practically empty"? We called and asked for a fan so we could at least sleep. They brought us a small round fan that was metal and sits on a table top. AND if you turned it on, it shook itself off of any surface you put it on. Managed to get thru the night again. On Sunday AM. the manager asked if we wanted to move to a room at the end of the hall because "we are not that busy". So we moved. However my boyfriend flew out that Sunday evening. Once moved, the room was SO comfortable and cool. Finally was the bathroom door. It is a sliding door with frosted glass. You couldn't see thru the door, but it also had no lock! Ugh.... Hotel was great except the tvs weren't working and the staff said someone would fix it but they never did. But that really didn't cause an issue. It is an awesome hotel in a great location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a whole new Embassy Suites experience as the hotel decor is much more geared to an urban clientele, though families could easily still stay there. The only issue I had with the room (and my traveling companion said the same about his, was that the thermostat had two settings--at 69 degrees it was like a refrigerator in the room and at 70 it […] was hot.
