"Excelent location, at The heart of Miami"
The best location ever. Front bayside, nearby everything. By location, 5 stars, by confort, they owe me 2 stars.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better called "Bates Motel...""
This was the worst place I've ever stayed. While it is close to the cruise departure point, furture guests would be better off staying somewhere else in Miami (not downtown) and paying a shuttle service to take you to the docks! The room as cold (had to sleep fully dressed) no heat (at least on my floor). Reported it to the Manager. His response was, […] "I'll make the air conditioning less cold..." Wireless internet did not work on my floor (4th). Overall condition of the hotel was old and horrible! Looks like something right out of the 1930's. Had to take the stairs. Had an ancient elevator....like something out of a Hitcock movie. Only hotel staff could operate it! If you are going on a cruise out of Miami, stay somewhere else. This hotel DID NOT set a good tone for my first cruise. Hotels.com should stop doing business with this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't even bother....."
Should have been listed as dorm, not hotel, wifi did not work, bad beds, rooms absolutely stunk no other words for it. Shower did not work no hot water morning or night. Glad it was only one night. Had read other reviews and yes it really was that bad and worseGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't take your shoes off!"
The best part of this hotel was checking out. Our room had 3 mechanisms on the door: a security latch, a dead bolt and a dummy door knob. The door knob on the inside was missing so we had to use the small piece of latch to open our door everytime we were exiting the room. The bed skirt was heavily stained which matched the bodily fluid stains on the […] carpet right next to it. The bathroom was tiny if you sat on the toilet you had just enough room to shut the door against your arm, this door didn't close properly neither. The tiny room had water stains on the ceiling, cracks on every wall and dim lighting. This room makes any dorm in america look like the Ritz. I went downstairs to ask for a manager to come to the room and see what my obvious complaints were. The woman at the front desk said there was no manager on duty until Monday (this was Saturday afternoon). Nor could she leave her desk because there was no one to cover her. Later she and 2 housekeepers that spoke no English came to the room with terrible attitudes, took some pictures with a cell phone and replaced the heavily stained skirt with a wrinkled as a pug looking one. By check out the next morning there was a line of guests waiting to get on the elevator from our floor. We waited for over 5 minutes ringing a bell for the elevator operator to come to our floor. They're using the same system style the hotel originally used over 120 years ago per one of the operators. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old and Smelly"
Bed smelled strange, very uncomfortable and the bathroom was tiny. The elevator is not up to date it requires a person to manually start it up. The whole hotel was a motel... lo quality. If you're looking for a cheap room for one night I guess you can chance it like I did.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to all the most important area"

"Sleep in the car! It's a better plan!"
I called to report that the remote was missing for the television! No one ever came! Then I noticed that the television could not even be turned on manually! The only positive thing about the "crap hole" is its close proximity to Port of Miami Cruise Docks!Genuine Expedia guest review
"It's OK if you're on a budget. Not bad, not fancy"
The main problem I had was that I asked about parking, knowing that many Miami hotels don't have any. Not surprisingly, I was told the Leamington didn't have any, but there were parking garages nearby. Unfortunately, no one mentioned the fact that the parking garages shut down by 11-11:30 p.m., even on weekends when there are major events going on. […] That meant a late night was followed by a blindingly early morning to pay for the parking meters. On checkout, the clerk was too busy chatting on the phone to acknowledge us in any way. Very annoying. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"La Murder"
There was blood on the third story floor deck door, with shattered glass in in the window. It looked like someone got badly hurt but no one bothered to clean it up. There also was a lot of prostitution going on during my one night stay. I felt like I was in a Nightmare On Elm Street, this is not a place for women & children.Genuine Expedia guest review

"It's alright...not bad, not great, just alright."
More like a Bed & Breakfast than a hotel, but it's still not bad for a 1 night or 2 tops. Elevator is antique and very easy to figure out how to operate it, in case there's no one there to do it. "Continental Breakfast" is actually more like "bunch of breads and coffee" because I couldn't find the "Continental" part of it Not recommended for long stays […] or large groups like families but ok for a backpackers, students and people who REALLY won't spend time at the room. Wow. This place is pretty grimy. Old facilities with rust, mold. In window AC unit that barely worked. Door knobs that didn't work....not a nice hotel, but was as clean as it could be, I suppose. Staff was nice enough. Old TV that was barely working, old furniture, nasty carpet....the list goes on. Lotta people hanging out in lobby... anyway, don't […] come here expecting a nice hotel...but it is cheap relative to other hotels within 5 blocks of it - the location is central. "Great price and location."
Excellent rates compared to other hotels close by on Biscayne Blvd. Personnel was courteous and helpful. Continental breakfast was good. Bath towels for each guest in the room and hooks to hang clothes and towels would be helpful and convenient. More lighting needed. The best part and most surprising was the guy at the reception desk on the morning […] of 11/30/12 was outstanding. He handled a lot of guests simultaneously checking out, printed boarding passes for the plane tickets, and when the pick up bus to the airport did not show up, he arranged for taxis for each group and paid for the cab ride. That was fantastic. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for sleeping and taking a shower"
This is an old hotel perfect if you only need it to sleep and take a shower. The hallway smells but the rooms are ok. The staff is really helpful. The location is great! We were there to see the Miami Heats and we couldn't ask for a better location. We went walking to the AAA. Also, Bayside is right across and that place is great, This mall has everything […] from stores to restaurants and fun stuff to do. "Felt like I was in a bad horror movie"
This hotel was really the worst place I've stayed in. The rooms are not clean, the bedding had hair in it and after you took a shower you feel as if you're dirtier than you were before you showered. The metromover runs right next to the hotel so you feel as if there's a train track running through the middle of your room. The elevator still needs someone […] to operate it for you. The area itself is pretty dodgy at night. Some good points to note was that the staff were nice and really helpful. Like I said before the hotel is close to the metromover so you can navigate your way through downtown for free. Also the hotel will store your luggage for a few of $1 per bag, which is handy if you have a later flight and want to wonder around a little more without hauling all of your luggage around. Honestly though I would never stay here again... Even if it were a free night Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superbad"
I really don't know how the place has not been condemned yet. There was one elevator that holds literally three people at a time, one of whom is the operator. The hotel was so old that all of the wood was warped so badly that you could see the hallway even when the door was locked closed. The bathroom was grimy and super small. The continental breakfast […] was comprised of solely bread, a toaster, butter and jelly. I was kicking myself for trying to save 50 bucks-If you can't afford the extra few dollars to stay at a normal hotel then I sincerely suggest you find a different option. I would have slept in my car had I brought it down to the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

THIS HOTEL WAS GARBAGE AND SHOULD BE QUARENTINED!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL, BECAUSE YOU WILL WANT TO SLEEP IN YOUR CAR INSTEAD! "Absolutely Stay Away!"
The hotel is very old, and does not look like it has been renovated in a long time. The paint was peeling off all of the walls, and the walls all looked very dirty. The carpet in the room was deplorable, and I never took my shoes off. The shower water never really got hot. The sheets on the bed seemed clean, but when I pulled them back, the mattress […] was stained and nasty. The elevator looks like it is literally from the 20's. But not in a cool/retro way. It could only be operated by an employee so every time you wanted to ride the elevator, you had to wait for someone. There were almost no amenities. One small bar of soap. No shampoo or conditioner, etc. I went to the front desk to ask for a blow dryer and they did not have a single one in the whole place. I asked for an iron, and they told me to be sure to bring it back because it was the only one that they had. Overall very scummy and run down. Also a big negative, was that there was NO PARKING. I had to pay to park in a garage that was 2 blocks away, and it cost $30 PER DAY! And if you left and came back, you had to pay again. Expedia did not warn me about this extra expense! For all the extra I paid to park, I could have stayed in a nicer hotel. Disappointing overall. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Below expectations on all counts"
This hotel is very old, close to a hundred years, which in itself is fine, however they have not kept it up, if you walk across the room (and I have been in three different rooms, same thing) in your bare feet, just once across, they are black, they never clean the carpet, the sheets appear to have been laundered but have stains, the beds sink (6 beds, […] counting all three rooms) all sink in the middle, the glass in the windows is plate glass so it is very thin and you can hear all the street noise all night long. Towels (in all three rooms) feel like you are drying off with sandpaper, the tubs are very very old and have been stained from around the ming dynasty. A few of the staff were very friendly, but I have tried calling the hotel for hours at a time, during the day and the night with no answer, I even had this site try and they did not get an answer, and while standing at the front desk I watched as the clerk either ignored the phone completely or picked up the receiver quickly and hung it right back up. It is very close to Bayside Market place but no matter the added costs, neither my wife, family or any of my friends will stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Leamington, Its well worth It!"
We arrived @ approx 11:00pm,the sign to the hotel was torn and half missing, although it was well lit. The location was perfect for cruise travelers, as it was near the Port of Miami. Its 2 blocks away from a 24-hour drug store (the legal kind), a bank/atm, and a department store. We checked in with the friendly staff, both the front desk, and the assistant/manual […] elevator operator?! Yes, the building is an old 4-story, sort of NYC style, the elevator was built back in the early 30's. Hence as to the musty smell and why you had to ring a bell to the call the elevator (which by the way did not operate after midnight), so down the stairs it was if you wanted to spend the night out in town. The room was ok, the bed comfortable and sheets were clean (I personally pulled an inspector mode analysis). Our room did not have a/c and our window was screwed shut. We asked for a fan but told it was not readily available. It must have been a cool night because, again no a/c on a warm day in a sealed shut windowed room, humm? They had a "continental breakfast" which seemed tempting, but no thanks. For the price that I paid, the staff we encoutered, the location, it was WELL WORTH my money. "horrible"
Surrounding is great just across bayside marketplace. The hotel is terrible. We had two rooms and they were not clean. I think they didn't change the bedsheet because out was rumbled and it had stains. "Clean room but old buidling that needs lots of...."
Only a one night deal........Convininet location, rooms were clean, but the building is old and needs a lot of maitenance and upgrading. The linen appeared clean, but the hotel and rooms had a strong mildew smell. The bathroom were clean but lots of rust and paint chippings. Stained ceilings from leaks and missing blinds. The carpet definately smelled […] like it needed to be changed. It might help if management left the a/c on- hot and stuffy and smelly once we walked in the room. The ladies upfront were friendly but the daytime elevator/maintenace man apparently doen't like his job. "Good for a quick stay"
I'm giving 4 stars because of the price to location ratio. The room was clean but quite outdated. No A/C control in the room, but the temperature was comfortable.Kind of smelly at the lobby, but no odor in the room . Breakfast was nothing special ,coffee toast and jelly but again, the deal hard to beat. If you just need to stay for a night or two at […] that location than it's a place to go.
