Quiet hotel in a noisy city, so a very welcome getaway. Staff was very friendly and room was top quality. The breakfast was not great for westerners but fine. "Two sides to Blossom Hill Inn, Lijiang"
This hotel is described in lots of travel guides as a "traditional courtyard hotel", however, there are two sides to Blossom Hill Inn. We were put in more recently added rooms behind the reception desk with no courtyard view and backing up to a construction site - quite disappointing! The day before our departure to the airport we asked the receptionist […] for help calling our airline to insure our flight was on time and in order. He said he would gladly do this as he had our passport numbers. When we arrived the next day at the airport they had no record of our reservation! Again, quite disappointing! "Picturesque, romantic, and very basic"
Nice in-floor electric heating, but takes time to come up to temperature. Room has no AC. Our room did not have a tub as described in our confirmation. Western breakfast consisted of eggs and toast, rest was Chinese breakfast. Breakfast did not start until 8:30, which is makes it difficult when tours starts at 8:30. Breakfast was located at Blossom […] Hill Inn Aromaland which is 50 meters away. Taxi cannot drop you off at the front door so you have to carry your luggage from the street which is 100-150 meters away. Setting is romantic and the streets are cobblestone which makes it difficult to walk and drag your luggage. Many restaurants in the area, mostly Chinese; however, there is an Italian restaurant at the northern end of the old Town near the Water Wheel. Many similar shops selling much of the same things; drums, scarfs, silver handicrafts, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and beautiful place"
Staff were some of the nicest people I've met on my travels - super helpful and very relaxed. The hotel is a beautiful boutique location and there is courtyard space all around where people sit and relax together drinking tea - a nice experience. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, all looking out into a courtyard. I would definitely stay […] here again but 2 things to note: the location is great - in the old town but right near where cars can park so easy to get your bags to (a problem for many other spots in the old town) but it is noisy during the day time so bring ear plugs if you want a good nights sleep. Breakfast is quite acceptable but not great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This was a wonderful hotel. The rooms were charming as was the staff. The hotel is located in a quiet part of old town, but an easy walk to the shops and market. The breakfast was wonderful also and we ate a great dinner at the restaurant, too. The rooms included space and bed heaters that were completely adequate for cool February evenings. Some sleep […] was sacrificed to the screeching cats outside, but I don't know how that could have been helped! Just a note: don't expect English speakers. "Not cheap but satisfying"
this is called an "inn" rather than a hotel, stayed here during the winter and recommend to use the humidifier provided as lijiang atmosphere is really dry. Breakfast is a must, decent simple variety of food and a cook is provided to fry your eggs and any other desires. Located a far distance from the main entrance of the old city, recommend you ring […] up the "inn" for them to pick you up from airport, or some well known location near the old city, otherwise you will be walking around the a maze for hours... you will be lost and frustrated. TV is not great if you don't understand mandarin, but they provide fast wifi, good quality toiletries, and nice simple touches such as Chinese tea, afternoon tea, heater, and wooden bath tub!!!! Very friendly staff, always keen to help, and some cheeky cats roaming around inn shall amuse you. Overall its not cheap, you can find inns about half the price which on the outside look the same, but grass is always greener isn't it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel was lovely. The rooms had so much character and the staff were very friendly. Overall they spoke little english, but the manager, who did speak english, went out of her way to help us. Hotel was in a good location in Old Town. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room overlooked the main street which was noisy and the room was dark. The service was extraordinary. The people are so genuinely warm and welcoming, we even invited one for lunch because he showed me his favourite humble little restaurant. Truly enjoyed my stay at Blossom Hill, Neverland. It's is a very quaint and beautiful boutique hotel with a wonderful courtyard and well designed spaces. The staff there was very helpful in giving advise on booking tours in and around Lijiang. Even had English speaking staff which was a major convenience. Spacious and very well decorated room. We've got a very helpfull staff (thus, only one person speaking english): free pickup from the airport; they guided us to the bank to solve some credit card issue, and also took us to the bus station. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful Stay in Li Jiang"
11/17/14 Khimming Melbourne
As you may already know, there are several Blossom Hill resorts in Li Jiang old town. The one that we picked to stay was Springland, located half way up the hill with main access from a turn-off from the (in)famous bar street. We did go pass some of the other Blossom Hill resorts and concluded that this one was probably the best. Springland is close to the happening Four Square street with a lot of dining and shopping options. Also it's very close to the main entrance to old town, meaning you can get out of the old town (believe me, you will) for other dining options, modern shopping and tours. Springland also has another secret weapon. As it's located half way up the hill, you get exclusive access to their open balcony at 3rd floor. You'll love it. The balcony is also where you have your breakfast. There's even some sofa facing the mountains and a telescope to use to take a closer look at the beautiful mountain range of Li Jiang. When it comes to services, I give the good people at Blossom Hill 10/10. They picked us up at the airport on-time (even after a mixed-up the day before caused by our cancelled flight from HK. They waited for us for a long time). They carried our heavy luggage through the uneven stone paths to hotel. Throughout our stay, the room was tidied promptly and the staff was always smiling and welcoming. They arranged our day trips and transportation to Shangri-la upon our request with professionalism and accommodating manner. Traveller may be concerned about its close proximity to the bar street. Based on our experience, it's not a big worry. The bar scene starts at around 8pm and they must close at 11:30pm. During this period, you may notice some noise, but nothing loud enough to stop you from enjoying your conversations or watching TV. And before you know it, the noise stops abruptly at 11:30pm. There's a lot good points to say about this hotel, such as free tea and snack sessions, free use of washing machine, free computer use and internet access, really good breakfast and the very well-kept, beautiful environment. The price could be on the high side but it's worth it. I'm happy to recommend this hotel to any of my friends travelling to Li Jiang.

In Lijiang it is difficult to find a quiet place but this was quiet and comfortable. The staff is attentive and helpful. Pick up and drops are easily arranged. The room has a balcony which is great to sit out in and is itself large and comfortable with nice touches like perfumed essences, great toiletry and painted masks all over the ceiling.
"Quiet, very nice room, friendly staff"
08/19/14 FellowTaveler2 Philadelphia, PA
In a town that can get noisy (crowds, nighttime bar scene), this was a quiet refuge. The room was large, with all the amenities and modern bath/shower, sitting room, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering tea and to help with logistical travel arrangements. A little hard to find, up a hill on pedestrian-only paths, but well worth it. Nice view from breakfast area, but breakfast was minimal if you are not feeling like having a Chinese vegetable and dumpling breakfast. Still, they were accommodating. Be careful as there are 6 or so Blossom Hills in the area, this one is in the old town, up a pedestrian walkway from the center.
"Beautiful hotel, "meiyou" service"
08/08/14 christoph w beijing
We rented 2 rooms for ourselves and 2 kids at the Blossom Hill. The one at the top of the hill of Lijiang "Old-Town" is the biggest (14 rooms approx.) and is the most expensive one (approx. RMB 1500/night). The setting is beautiful the location and hotel itself very relaxing. Very relaxing is also the staff. Although we booked directly 2.5 month in advance they couldn't mamage to give us 2 rooms next to each other. A lady with her daugther checked in shortly after and had reserved one of the rooms which had just been rented to us. The following conversation to solve the issue didn't lead to anything but annoying the guests and waste of 45 min. of our time. Craving for a cold beer to enjoy the romantic sunset, they ran out of beer. Cold and warm. The staff was so nice to get some Dali beer from the local shop. The following mornings followed with breakfast supply shortages which ended in a total lack of coffe, marmelade and toast. The rooms where made up in a very relaxing style, that I thought the kids had done it themself. All in all nothing to worry about when you book this place just to get out of town and are acustomed to mainland service. When you want service; well, they are building an Amman resort next door, but don't expect the Amman service you may have experienced in Indonesia or elsewhere. Just enjoy what you get: A nice hotel in a nice setting. Bring your own Champagne if you need it or just refer to the free herbal tea.
"The best place we stayed at in China"
07/26/14 Jennifer C Moscow, Russia
We were a young couple that stayed at the Blossom Hill Aromaland in June and it was the best place we stayed at in China. Feels like home - very cozy, but at the same time authentically Chinese. New, clean, spacious, a big bathroom with both big bath and even bigger shower, all really stylish. Great, very helpful staff. They helped to manage our trip to the Tiger Leaping Gorge (took quite a lot of time for them). When we asked for a nice restaurant nearby they didn't point at it but went with us there and helped us to order food. Will definitely go to this place again, unmissable experience. It's always difficult to describe, but it worth going...Nice courtyards and living rooms as well, many greenery and flowers.
"Wonderful staff, quiet, authentic"

There are several Blossom Hill guest houses in old town LIjiang and we stayed at the one subtitled Lotusland on Zhongyi alley. The guest house is very peaceful and relaxing with a lovely courtyard. The staff were very nice and friendly, including the two adolescent cats that we would find intertwined and asleep on a chair outside our room in the afternoon. I really enjoyed just relaxing at the guest house after a long day of walking. Our room had a large bathtub fit for two. Breakfast was served at another of their guest houses about a block away. The first morning was chaotic with too many people, no clean forks or cups, and people pushing to get to the food. The second day was better. There were a lot of Chinese options but really just white bread and eggs if you prefer western food. Still, I highly recommend Blossom Hill.
"Traditional boutique hotel with helpful staff"
05/04/14 JandP_Cotswolds Stroud, United Kingdom
There are five Blossom Hill locations in Lijiang, we stayed at Joyland which is inside the city walls and a pleasant, traffic-free 15 minute walk from the Old Town centre. Lijiang has streams running along some of the streets, including where this hotel is situated. This small, boutique hotel is built around a courtyard in traditional style. We found the young reception staff extremely helpful and concerned for our happiness. They spoke reasonable English and helped us find good, nearby restaurants. Service was excellent and we were offered a choice of rooms. We chose a large airy room with a 7m high ceiling and a big sitting area. The bed was a proper double bed with a double duvet (unlike other places we stayed where two single mattresses were pushed together) and very comfortable. The room had good heating and air conditioning. Everything was very clean and the shower had good pressure and temperature control. Wifi was a little faster than usual in Chinese hotels. No cars are allowed in the city centre; this hotel is a 5 minute walk from the car park. Hotel staff came to the car park to meet our taxi and help us with bags. We wandered round Lijiang each evening and felt very safe; however, it should however be noted that the main streets in the city centre get very crowded at night. The bars outside the hotel can be very noisy in the evening, but they shut at 2300 (including Friday and Saturday) and everything goes quiet. So this was not a problem for us, but might it be if you go to bed very early. Breakfast was in another building 2 minutes walk away. The choices and quality - both Western and Chinese - were not as good as they should have been: a bit of a disappointment. We left Lijiang before breakfast was available on our last day; reception helpfully provided a packed breakfast that was better than the restaurant. Overall, a good boutique hotel run by a young, helpful staff: we would happily stay here again.
"The staff make this hotel!"
04/22/14 lovetravel29 London
We stayed 3 nights at the Blossom Hill Inn Joyland. We stayed in a room upstairs. The rooms are a good size, comfortable bed, nice linen. The breakfast is served at another inn around the corner but if you have an early start - like we did 2 mornings they arranged a packed breakfast for you - egg, apple, yoghurt, cake of some sorts and a porridge type pack. The female staff were all fantastic!!!! So friendly and helpful. 2 of the girls - who are all in their early 20's and smiling and delightful - speak pretty good english. Even though they claim it is a little - it was more than enough to help us book drivers, guide us toward places to visit and arrange massages for us. We had arranged for the hotel to pick us up from the airport - which they did and it is worth getting them to do this, because the old town is a very confusing place when you first arrive. The old town is quite a noisy place especially if you stay near any bars. We found Joyland to be relatively quiet - although their neighbours out the back are building, nothing Joyland can do about that. But we weren't kept awake at night by noisy singing - which there is a LOT of around Lijiang. Beautiful traditional wooden buildings do not make for great soundproofing. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks to the staff for making a memorable trip to a beautiful place even better.
"A Very Charming Inn"
03/26/14 Ling101028 Singapore, Singapore
We were a group of 10 people with 2 couples among us. We stayed there from 18-22 Mar 2014. The inn has 2 storey. The rooms upstairs were the bigger with themes. Some themes were nice and romantic but there was one with the head of the Yak hanging above the king bed. It was originally assigned to one of the couples. However, the head of a yak scared the hell out of the wife. They swapped with a single guy in the group. So, do check the room designs first to see if you are comfortable. The other "complaint" for those on 2nd floor was noise. They could hear very clearly people passing by the inn late at nights. I was lucky to stay in a standard room on the ground floor. It was quiet and my roommate and I had very good sleep for the 4 nights stay there. Access to the inn was not that convenient. We have to walk about 10 minutes from the main road as most of the lanes in the old town are not accessible by car or bus. It was down-slop from the main road when we were getting in. However, we have to walk up-slop when we are coming out. So be prepared for some walking. We got the inn to engage 2 men to trolley our luggage. Breakfast was okay but coffee was poor. For real coffee drinkers, you may need to BYO ! Overall, it was a pleasant stay for us as the staff were friendly and helpful. The inn has cozy areas for tea/ coffee/ drinks. They sell wines but expensive. So it's better to drink the nearby bars.
"A nightmare to find"
01/05/14 Carlos A London, England, United Kingdom
We arrived in Lijiang in the evening and started to look for the hotel. The cab driver did not know the address on the printout from Hotels.com but took us to the city centre where there is a tourist office near the location in the printout. In the tourist office they did not know the hotel. But hey!, we can use the map to navigate a little we thought - despite the rucksacks. The city is a labyrinth noone bothered making a proper map of (at least not in English, I checked numerous guides). After about 30 minutes of walking we found the street. The exact address was a closed door without a ringbell. We tried calling hotels.com but after a few minutes we asked in the restaurant next door and they told us we can enter through the restaurant. They spoke really basic English and could not read the printout from hotels.com. After quite a few odd minutes they made a call and we realised we there were more than one blossom hill in Lijiang. Like 5 or 6 actually. What on hotels.com appear to be different rooms are actually different hotels (joyland, neverland, lotusland etc, all over Lijiang). They tried to explain us the way but as they realised we did not understand them one of them volunteered to accompany us -thank god. We had to walk about three quarters of a mile with our heavy backpacks on. They spoke a little more English in this second hotel but they had a problem with 'here' and 'there' to explain us that the breakfast was serve somewhere else. All in all I don't recommend this otherwise good hotel because we spent two hours trying to find it. The address provided by hotels.com was wrong (it was from a different blossom hill) and their lack of English makes it harder. If you go in the morning with little luggage it may be ok, but if you arrive in the evening and don't speak Chinese simply avoid. Apart from that the rooms were really nicely decorated and roomy. Great shower. Breakfast was average.
