"Can't wait to come back."
We absolutely loved our room. We could have stayed for weeks if we had wanted to. The room had everything included. Washer and dryer and barbecue and a full kitchen. The shower was awesome, too. Compared to Banff the price was very reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Ok but not outstanding"
No pool was a big downer, but the location outside of Canmore was quiet and very pleasant. The room itself was very clean, but the refrigerator kept beeping at us even after they sent two people to come check it. We finally gave up and just reset the alarm every time we opened it. The pool area was a big disappointment and we met several other families […] who were sad about it. I'm not sure what a 1 1/2 foot relaxation pool is intended for, but it's not for swimming. The couples seemed happy with the hot tub though. The wifi was not strong, but we had a great time in Banff and this was a fine place to stay, particularly for non-families. "Nice family vacation stay with 2 small children"
We had a great time staying at Solara hotel resort. All the room amenities were top quality and everything was fully furnished. The kids loved the shower especially of the 4 different shower heads. The beds were so comfortable and we loved the multiple flat screen TVs and fireplaces and the use of PlayStation. Everything was a plus except for the pool. […] It was great to have a little water splash area for the kids but we would have like to have an actual swimming pool for the adults. We also loved the huge theater and game room for the kids. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place! "Very modern, but not a lot of room"
The suites at Solara are owned by individuals and rented out to guests by a property management agency, so it is possible that each suite is furnished a little differently. That said one bedroom of our 2 bedroom suite barely had room to walk around the bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

wonderful place with a full kitchen and living space. nice if you are staying for a wee bit and need some space. good locations too, canmore is beautiful!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is a wood frame building and very noisy. The alarm went off at 6am as it wasn't shut off...very hard when you want to sleep in, due to noise the night before. Person above was very heavy footed!Genuine Expedia guest review

We were in a suite right inside the entrance to the Bow building and we could hear everyone coming and going, it was very noisy. We had a wonderful experience at the Solara Resort. Our 2 bedroom Condo was clean and modern. Our family would stay here again.! We're very picky about facilities and cleanliness, we give them a 10 . "Very classy resort, poor housekeeping staff"
The Solara is a lovely resort, the accommodations are large, very classy, and comfortable. On our first stay there, we had a problem with the WiFi; but on this stay, that problem had been fixed. This time, we had a problem with the maid staff. They were to come each day to take out trash, make bed, etc. But, twice they didn't even show up. Once they […] came, bagged up the trash, then left it sitting on the kitchen floor. For the price we paid for this resort , the least they could have done was the small amount of housekeeping that was promised on check-in. Our daughter and son-in-law were also staying there and had the same problem. Other than that, we were pleased with the Solara. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"nice place to stay"
Although this resort is beautiful, they had a lot of communication problems with the staff. They were supposed to clean our condo on the 4th day, and though we were out of town, never came the day after to do anything. We requested robes for the spa for 3 days and finally got them. The stove was confusing as it was celsius and not farenheit. It was […] a trial doing the conversions and no one could seem to help us. On a brighter note, The tubshower combo was awesome and so was the Bed. Very comfortable. The kitchen could have been stocked a little better though. On the last day as we were leaving the elevator went out and we had to walk our luggage down 4 flights of stairs. That stunk!!!! I think this property is in need of better Management but would recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

All in all the stay was enjoyable. We had a few maintenance issues that never did get resolved but no big deal. "Great place for family with teens/adult children"
The Solara Resort in Canmore was a great place to stay! We enjoyed our 2 bedroom condo with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, kitchen appliances and fantastic shower in the main bathroom. The only complaint that we had was that the cleaning staff was very inconsistent. They obviously did not follow a checklist of items to leave in the room or things […] to check daily. One day the bed was half made, several days they did not replenish the coffee and tea, another day they forgot to leave clean towels. All that we expected each day was fresh towels, coffee and tea, and for the staff to make the beds. We did not care if any other cleaning was done. Our recommendation is for the cleaning staff to receive better training and to follow a daily checklist of things to do in each room. The location of the Solara is excellent - we stayed here for 7 nights and drove daily into Banff National Park and into Kootenay National Park and up to the Icefields Parkway. We loved our vacation in this area! The weather was great and the mountains are gorgeous! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great resort, but no reliable wireless..."
The Solara is a beautiful place, very classy, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Our only problem was the reliability of the wireless service. I am from Texas and left my cell phone at home, counting on using the wireless to stay in touch with my husband. The first two days, we had wireless, but we were without for the last two days. This […] was my way of communicating with home ( my daughters also), so it was disappointing. It was explained to us that there were so many folks using it that it was unable to keep up. If you promise wireless, then you need to produce wireless. Other than that issue, the resort is a great choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A place to avoid"
The hotel has quite a choppy feel to it, right from the moment you arrive. There were some really odd things about this hotel - such as there really are no amenities such as a lounge, restaurant or food service and there is no pool. Instead there are two small hot tubs for the entire hotel with a tiny indoor water "park" for some brief ankle deep fun. […] There is no room service or way to even get a bottle of wine after 7pm - on a Saturday night. The pull out couch came with no bedding and when we called the front desk to have some brought up, the bedding was too small for the bed. When I called again, I was told that there the bedding was standard and that however it fit the pull out bed, is how it fit. When I asked for some extra blankets I was asked to come down and pick it up ourselves. There was a really cool theatre, but that's not the setting we were looking for. For the price we paid, we would definitely never stay again, particularly if you have children. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our family holiday"
For the most part, we enjoyed our stay. I had specifically asked to have the sofa bed made up, but that was not done, so I was not happy about that, and on the first night they did not have enough duvets left so my daughter had to make due with some thin blankets. The sofa bed was not comfortable at all, perhaps some feather beds for those who need […] to use them would help. We could have used more towels, but the staff was quick to get what we needed. Some more pots and pans would be helpful, so we will bring what we need next time. We had a ground floor room, which was great for the dogs to go in and out, and made the stay more comfortable. We had a great time on our visit to Solara - the rooms are beautiful and there is every appliance you could ever need so making meals or snacks in your room is a breeze. The room wasn't dirty by any means, but it was clear that a few corners had been cut when the rooms are cleaned, there was spills/splashes etc that were not properly cleaned before […] our arrival. "Generally a nice hotel"
I came from Vancouver, booked it online specifically requesting a fireplace. At the front desk at check in I asked again if the room had a fireplace and was told yes, it had three, one in each bedroom and one in the living room. There were no real fireplaces in the entire suite. They were the fake electric light ones. Personally I do not call them fireplaces. […] A fireplace to me is either a wood burning fireplace or a gas fireplace with "real flames". not an electric light. It reminded me of one of the television channels that you can get at Christmas time show a burning fireplace. A huge disappointment. I believe this borders on false advertising. The rooms were amazing, very comfortable beds and everything was very clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We have stayed at some of the other resorts in the area, but thought we would try Solara based on the reviews and ratings. The area is great and it is near downtown Canmore and restaurants etc. When you walk into your room, at first glance it looks wonderful, but upon further inspection, there were scuff marks all over the wall, the tile floor was filthy […] (it showed on our bare feet) and the couch in the living area was pulled out slightly, revealing some nasty dirt behind it. I may be a little OCD, but I expect the places I stay at and pay money for to be at least as clean as my home. Its unfortunate, because the space was great, but I probably wouldn't book here again, knowing what to expect at some of the other places we have stayed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room in a great location."
Solara met and exceeded all of our expectations. The location is perfect for visitors to Banff who are spending multiple days exploring the area. The hotel is just off the Trans Canada in Canmore and the entrance to Banff is just a few minutes down the highway. The room itself is great for families or couples or anyone who requires more than 1 bedroom. […] You'll save significantly by staying in a multi-room suite rather than purchasing multiple rooms in a standard hotel. Plus, these rooms are essentially fully-stocked condos with a kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots/pans, dishes, cutlery, glassware, wine fridge, coffee, tea, etc.), dining area (table for 6), living room (fireplace, cable tv, playstation 3), washer/dryer/ironing board, a deck with a bbq (ours had outdoor dining furniture as well), multiple bedrooms (clean, comfortable beds, with bathrobes, extra pillows, fireplaces, tvs), multiple bathrooms (all of the usual amenities). This is a place you can really settle down for a few days or a few weeks and do some relaxing on your vacation. Plus the kitchen helps you save on food costs by not eating out for every meal and allows you to make a lunch for your day in the Rockies. As an added bonus, we saw more wildlife (moose, elk, bunnies) on or near the resort than we did our entire time in Alberta. There were elk eating the bushes right outside our room one evening. This place is truly a home away from home. Stay here! We'll be back for sure. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Your location is a perfect get away. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. Yet you are still close to the restaurants and shopping. The condo style suite was beautiful, decorated in a modern lodge style with top of the line appliances and decor. It was spacious and fit a family of four very comfortably. "Great condo / hotel close to downtown Canmore"
Stayed at the Solara Resort and Spa with my 4 kids on a recent trip to Canmore. We had some delay getting checked in because our room wasn't cleaned yet. But the second time we stopped in to see if it was ready the front desk girl did some switching and upgraded us to the bigger suite with no extra charge. Hotels don't make a great trip, but a bad experience […] can put a damper on what could be a great trip. And the kids, ages 14-7 all loved the room. Was very impressed with the hotel staffs willingness to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and help us have a positive stay even though we were 3 hours late getting into the hotel on day 1.Highly recommend larger families to stay in one of the 2 bedroom suites, and that has everything your house does as far as a full kitchen and BBQ on the deck. We didn't eat every meal there by any stretch, but did save Dad a few dollars by not having to eat out every meal 3 times a day. My 7 and 9 year old were disappointed by the pool. Knew from the pictures its wasn't a big pool, but if you have kids that live in the water like my youngest 2 the wading pool and play area was fun for about 30 minutes and then they were bored. For youngers kids yet it would be perfect. As far as being in heart of the Canadian Rockies, and being able to experience that and everything Canmore has to offer, it was a great hotel and will stay there again my next trip that way. "Solara Resort and Spa August 2014"
The room was clean upon arrival. Marketing and in-room literature described the suite as condo style rental, complete with dishes, cooking utensils, starter size dish and laundry soap, linens, etc. Basic room upkeep daily to include making beds, tidying and replacing used towels and garbage removal. We had a sum total of 1 salad plate, three bowls, […] minimal cutlery and cooking/serving dishes. Our room wasn't ever tended to - we did not have any dish soap nor kitchen linens to wipe counters or wash dishes, etc. The entire suite was overheated with no A/C to cool things off for sleeping. Staff was sparse and grossly undertrained at best. This suite was far too expensive for mediocre amenities and daily upkeep! Will not go back, will not recommend to others! Very disappointing.
