The hotel is very modern, which is nice, but almost too much so, to the point that everything is a little too functional and you lose comfort. The rooms are very spacious and very clean, but the beds are hard and could be much more comfortable. The location also is just ok. Its really not a far walk from certain areas, but its not as centrally location […] as I would have liked. About a 25 minute walk to Brandenburger Tor, 25 minute walk to Hackescher Markt. There is pretty good public transport nearby, so if you would prefer the underground, its very close to the hotel, but I prefer walking and its a little far from some of the best places in the area. Overall, it was a nice place, but not great. Also, there is free wifi only in the lobby. If you want wifi in your room, you need to go to the lobby and sign for a tmobile account, which was very odd. While the hotel is a bit out of the way for sightseeing, it is very conveniently located on the same block as an Underground stop. There is also a section of the Berlin Wall left standing and a very nice memorial within a short walking distance that one of the waitstaff told us about. Normally this may not be a problem but for a group of technology business people it turned out to be a huge issue. One of the female receptionists was quite rude. When I first arrived to the hotel I was a little put off by the surrounding area. Lots of construction going on and not much else, but the hotel was very nice and clean. Don't be discouraged! I really enjoyed my stay at the Tryp Hotel. My room was comfortable, large and quiet. The hotel was modern and very clean. The hotel had a workout room also. I especially liked having the in-room safe. I didn't want to carry valued items with me daily. The location was excellent. A tram line, a bus line and a U- Bahn line stopped right by the hotel. […] The U-Bahn line was especially handy. The line connects easily to the Tegel bus. Until the new airport opens the public transportation situation is not ideal but this hotel is very convenient and is located ideally to get to and from the airport. The hotel is only one stop from a major U-Bahn, S-Bahn and DB station.Two grocery stores and a post office are located with a few blocks of the hotel. The Museum Island is very close to the hotel. This is an excellent hotel. Despite it is located in a not such a touristic region, it is well located, very, very close to a metro station (Naturkundemuseum), what give us facility in going to everywhere. The instalations of the hotel is exactly how they appear on the advertises. Very modern room, a big bathroom (adapted to disabled persons), a little […] wardrobe with a minibar inside. The staff was very kindly, helping me in a satisfactive way everytime I needed (very good English and Spanish). The only negative points are: no free wi-fi access and no breakfast included. The price for the breakfast was too high, but there were other possibilities nearby the hotel, including a small "bakery" just outside the metro station and a supermarket two blocks ahead, where we could buy anything. The hotel appears to be new but is not conveniently located. There are no restaurants, bars or entertainment places near by. During my visit, I observed building constructions going on and the closest metro station and streets seem dilapidated and full of graffiti which gave an unsafe impression of the local area. Although there were a few small glitches ( horrible internet connection) and the hotel is at the edge of Mitte, the staff made up for everything. they could not have been nicer or more helpful. We upgraded to a "superior" room and had an amazing king sized bed. the hotel is brand new! the bed is great, shower is great! the decor is pretty basic modern but kinda chic.. on a very ikea kind of chic. but somethings i might say just for the record: 1 - the blankets are short! dont save on blankets size! the bigger the better! half my legs were uncovered and im 1.75 - not that big! 2 - the cleaners never replaced […] what i consumed 3 - the cleaning was pretty basic, just lazy cleaning... not 4star kind of thing 4 - i asked one of the cleaning staff how to get off - cause i entered a wrong elevator - the guy toured me all over the hotel talking and talking and finally showed me the way out on the back and asked me if he could visit me in my room later that night. so thats not good. i was kind of afraid he would knock anytime - and i didnt give him any kind of sing or anything. so there. but the hotel is good! i got a good rate and it was a good deal! later on i tried to go back for the same rate but it was 3 times more expensive - a week later. i would stay there again for that price! We would highly recommend this hotel, very close to the subway stop, the staff was very friendly and helpful, arranging theatre activities for us. The hotel is brand new and shiny, as well as sylishly designed. The hotel strikes a nice balance of cool and stylish, without being overly hip. I was there during fashion week, and it certainly looked like a lot of fashion people in town like me for the week of trade shows. There is a cool bar and the restaurant was good. A limited menu, but a good […] one. Service was excellent throughout the hotel. There was a gym with brand new equipment, although not perfectly functional. dumbells but no key to change the weights, and only one treadmill. It was small but still nice. There were a couple of kinks that need to be worked through but minor, such as the key to change the dumbell weights. The fire alarm went off at 1am one morning, clearly a glitch in a brand new system, but it was dealt with quickly, alhough they could have kept the guests informed a better of the situation. I have no hesitation in recomending this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It is on the outskirts of Mitte, a great district, but it really is the outskirts, not the center. But it is very close to the U Bahn, so easy to get around, but not much in the direct area if you just want to pop out and grab a bite, but the German public transport system is flawless, so its never hard to get anywhere with ease. The floor of the bedroom and bathroom were not clean. I asked that my shower be cleaned, but it wasn't. The temperature in the room was way too high for comfortable sleeping. No free wireless and very expensive to buy time on the hotspot service. The only english tv channels were BBC and CNN.

Hotel just by entrance to U bahn station Naturkundemuseum on line U6. Did not have breakfast in hotel as there are a number of coffee shops nearby which are much cheaper. If you cannot sleep with noise request room away from the main street as quite noisy due to bus and tram. Bed slightly too hard for my comfort but husband was happy. No tea or coffee […] making facility in room.Mini bar fridge in room with no silly dictate that you cannot keep anything else in it or you will be charged as we found in Cyprus. Were given a family room as a couple so we had lots of space. Berlin has lots to do so you will be out from morn til night. It is possible to walk to many places on the sightseeing agenda from the Tryp. The rate for the hotel varied considerably over the 7 nights we were there so choose your dates carefully- we found out later that the Berlin AIr show was on that week which may have accounted for the variance. The hotel was well placed for the M6 tram and the Naturekunde Museum Underground stop. It was modern, clean and comfortable with helpful English speaking staff. We had a room facing the busy street on the 6th floor but with windows closed the traffic did not disturb us. We found this hotel really excellent. It's very modern with great detail in the design. A beautifully appointed room (everything worked !) and very good breakfasts (extra, but half price if you sign up for the hotel group card). The staff were intelligent and courteous. The immediate location isn't pretty but it's 2 stops on Ubahn 6 to Freidrichstrasse […] which is the sort of centre.Berlin doesn't have a 'centre' in the normal way so it's a bit confusing geographically until you get the hang of it. Public transport excellent and 6.30 euros for day ticket. We didn't have great eating experiences. The Geman food we had was a bit heavy and stodgy. Prices similar to most capitals.Would definitely recommend Hotel Tryp. Read more
