"Guesthouse Vatnsholt"
The location is a bit off the beaten track but if one needs lodging in the area it is fine particularly since the room rate is reasonable. Tho we had thought the rate included breakfast and it apparently didn't which added an addl per person fee. Sharing a bathroom when most of the rooms are occupied can be inconvenient. The individual rooms are a bit […] smallish, but the shared common areas are quite spacious and comfortable so you can get out of the room and perhaps even meet some of your fellow travelers. We ate dinner at the guesthouse and were extremely pleased with the price and offerings; the food was excellent in fact. The buffet breakfast is also quite nice with a good variety. If one likes to go horseback riding then that is available right there as you are staying on a farm with horses and other animals. If it were not for our stay there we would not have found out about a wonderful set of falls/rapids not too far away on the way back to the Ring Road. "Overnite stay with dinner on our way to SE Iceland"
Our stay was the last week of October 2012 and there were not many tourists at that time. The owners were very friendly and helpful. This wonderful husband and wife team spent time with us to be sure our sightseeing itinerary included all of the tourist attractions. "Very nice place to stay"
It's location is pefect to explore the whole sout-west of Iceland by car. The view form the guesthouse is beautifull. The service was excellent, the owners are a friendly couple wich gave us awesome tips about where to go in Iceland. The guesthouse itself looked brand new, with good rooms and a great shower. "誰にも教えたくない素敵な農家民宿"
