The hotel staff were very helpful with anything we needed and very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The hotel provides complementary water which we took full advantage of and a in room fridge. We were close to restaurants, water activities (charters for diving, snorkeling, kayaking, etc.), Duval Street and Mallory Square. Would recommend Sarabeth's for breakfast and 7 Fish for dinner (get reservations, restaurant is very small). Also, the show at La Te Da was great.

I would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Key West. They have their own parking which is very important there. Beautiful pool and hot tub. The room was terrific.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is very convenient. We were able to park on the street and walked everywhere. It was nice to get back to the hotel and have such a pleasant garden area with a hottub, warm pool and cooler pool. several different sitting areas. A little oasis in the middle of town. Enjoyed talking with other visitors during the wine and cheese time.

The Sugar Loaf Lodge was everything we expected. We wanted a quiet place away from the craziness of Key West, and the location was great. The rooms overlook a bay/inlet (something) and the ground floor rooms lead right out to a grassy area adjacent to the water. There's a Tiki bar and a restaurant attached to the lodge, but the restaurant was closed […] on Monday and there's really no option for breakfast nearby. The rooms were clean, but dated. The staff was super friendly but lets face it the rooms are a little less than desirable. it seemed as though we warped back to the 70's when entering the room. I will however say that even though the room was old it was a very decent stay. the location is excellent what with the ocean 10 feet from the sliding glass back door in the room. No coffee pots in the room which is not too bad as long as you can get coffee first thing in the morning. We are early risers and the first day had no problem getting coffee from the tiki hut when we wanted it. Huge rooms overlooking the bay, very natural and quiet, well maintained for an older property. All rooms have a view, the bar and Zaza restaurant are adjoining and are jumping. Do ask to stay away from the bar end of the building. Pool is OK and there is a salt water swimming area. Drive into Key West is doable.

It's an OK hotel; nothing is fantastic but clean and not too expensive. AC is too loud, so I couldn't sleep well. Beds and bathroom are clean enough. View is good. They offered free coffee and donuts in the morning. It's not far from Key West; just 15 min drive.

This hotel was great value. We had a clean comfortable room with large screen TV which my daughter watched. We sat on our small veranda and watched a grey dove nest in the tree as we sipped our drinks.Small fridge in room was great for cold drinks and snacks. Air conditioning was excellent and worked great even in the soaring heat. We had plenty room […] for 2 adults and one child. The Tiki bar had entertainment, we enjoyed a local singer, guitar player.We met the locals who could recommend fishing trips etc. Russell who worked there was a great character and told us all the history of the place and the dolphin stories etc. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We relaxed in the pool and enjoyed the restaurant next door, which served high class food. SugarLoaf lodge is far enough from the busy Key West area but an easy car ride to get too. We spent most of our time heading North to Bahia Honda beach which was also a short drive and shopping at Winn-Dixie for snacks in Big Pine Key and took trips to Marathon to see Dolphin place and Turtle hosp. Sugarloaf Lodge is a great base to see it all and comfortable and affordable. I recommend it. Read more

THE HOTEL WAS VERY NOISY LATE INTO THE NIGHT. IT IS A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL THEREFORE YOU HEAR DOGS BARKING ALL THE TIME. THE TIKI BAR WAS NICE AND CONVENIENT FOR AN AFTERNOON COCKTAIL. WE FELT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH CONSIDERING THE AGE OF THE HOTEL AND THE LACK OF AMMENITIES.

There was a mix up on the days we were suppose to stay had to cut it short a day early, well I guess it we didnt get caught in the memorial day traffic on the way back home! We will be back in September for poker run.

The location great, but the hotel is looking a little tired and for the price being charged it should offer more in room amenities such as coffee maker

Our stay was interrupted by a dog barking in room nearby, very minimal soundproofing in walls/floors, and an overall noisy and uncomfortable room.

The staff was soo nice and laid back and the rooms were great, they are very retro and cool. I loved it. They also have flat screen tvs which is always a plus. We will definitely be staying there when we go back.

it was just ok the picture online were deceiving did not look like that in person and there was no internet in the room like they said would be. the on site restraunt was expensive also. would not recommend the hotel.

The hotel itself is just short of a Motel 6 but the veiw is pretty. The front office personnel was rude and acted like they had better things to do. The other staff members that we encountered were delightful.

Staff gave us excellent info including a bus sched to KW. Cute, clean retro room :-) with frig. Great Tiki bar that served coffee in the morning. Only downside was broken ice machine--no problem Tiki bar gave us lots. Wonder why there was no screen on the sliding glass door? But it provided a B U D ful view. Place was quiet.
