This was great place to stay, no screaming sring breakers. This is an adult oriented all inclusive hotel. The food was excenllent, you have to try the rotisserie chicken on the beach!

"Amazing Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Na Balam got some underserved poor scores. The location happened to be the best location on the island (as far as beaches go), and fairly convenient to excitement of down town. The grounds were spectacular, and for such a reasonable price. Front desk and beach bar staff were not amazing, but not bad either. They could do some training on customer service in order to make it a more magical experience, but all in all, it was acceptable service.
"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Wow! What an amazing time we had staying at the Royal Solaris!! We spent our 19th anniversary at this all inclusive resort for 4 days and never even had the slightest urge to go into town or leave the hotel. Friendly staff checked us in. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and there was no waiting. The Time Share lady who offered us a "quick tour" of the hotel but did not get pushy or upset when we told we just wanted to get to our room and then hit the beach. She asked that we come see her, but we never did and we never got bothered with Time Share talk the rest of the time. The multiple pools looked like lots of fun, but hey...we have a pool at home so we spent every waking minute at the beautiful beaches. The "vendors" walking up and down the beach were not pushy at all and after each one made their 1st pass/effort, they didn't bother us the rest of the day. Benjamin and Kike (pronounced kee-kay), were our beach waiters over the weekend and both of them were absolutely tremendous!! We could not have asked for a better experience. The room was clean, it had a comfortable bed, and plenty of water pressure for our showers. Oh...and pay the little extra to get the beach view room...spectacular views of the sunrise and gorgeous blue waters!!

"Nice property"
We stayed for 5 nights and overall the property is very nice. Staff are very friendly and willing to assist, Davinos restaurant has great food and the rooms are lovely. It is a timeshare property so be prepared for the sales pitch. The location is quiet, and the area is developing- in a year or so will be more to do within walking distance. Chichen-Itza […] tour took 14 hours- was an amazing site, but the tour was ridiculous. Go on your own- its worth the extra $. Read more
"Brand Spankin New"
Since I am the first to review this new hotel, I will try to say good and bad things. We stayed 4 nights between Christmas and New Year's a couple of days after it opened. Stayed in the 1 bedroom. The hotel is being built in 3 phases and the first phase is underway with about 1/3rd completed. The main lobby and pool have not been built. There were only […] two resturants and 1 bar open. There were a lot of things still being "fixed" when we were there. However, everyone was about as nice as they could be. Having stayed in a number of places in Cancun and Cozumel, I would say these were the nicest, friendliest staff ever. The food was really good. Being an all inclusive, it was nice to get room service with two kids and sit on the large balcony and eat. The room cleaning was spotty. The hot and cold water taps were switched on the washer. There were no dish towels in the room. The water pressure was hard that it was painful, so no one took showers for 4 days. We had to run the bath for a while to get rid of the sediment. We weren't allowed to check in to our room until 3 even though we got there at 12. We were told it was because other people were in the room, but it was clear when we got there, we were the first people to ever stay in that room. Place is very beutiful. Beach is calm - but water is colder because it is nearer a deep channel. All in all - we enjoyed it and wish we had stayed longer. It is expensive but so is eating anywhere in Cancun. Keep in mind that it is the fartherst place from anywhere! A cab to the airport is going to cost you about $60 dollars. Read more
