Location was great and room was spacious and bright and king bed was good. Staff seems very efficient. However, sheets seems filmsy and unfortunately our shams and sheets were not chaneged until we ask. I think it is normal to be changed unless we put a sign of ' do not change it' but here it seems normal not to be changed unless changing was asked […] cause after it was changed due to our request, it was not changed again next day. During our stay, strangely amenities were not filled for 3 days. We drank coffee or tea once a day and it was not replaced two days and a part of amenities were missing for 3 days. I hope it is just a mistake (no one is perfect so it could happen but after 3 times, I am not sure). I am also concerning about environment but I like my sheet changed after sweaty sleep of traveling, shampoo and toilet paper replaced if it is used more than half unless I say no but those didn't happen here and those annoyed me even though there were many strong points which this hotel has. Hotel was just as described, quite luxurious with all the amenities you could want. Front desk staff was all English-speaking as well. The neighborhood was so-so and we had a difficult time finding good restaurants nearby. The hotel suggested Ginger nearby but it was terrible! Hotel was beautiful and comfortable though.

Perfectly clean/maintained. The front desk staff always greeted us with a warm smile and a sincere interest in making the most out of our stay. David was a life-saver!! His english is better than ours! LOL We wanted to find a custom guitar maker and he found the place, called for the shop hours and left the hotel phone number in case the craftsman couldn't […] communicate effectively with us: he couldn't say a word of english and so David, via phone, acted as our liason. Perfect!! The breakfast buffet was pricey at around $20 Eu, so we only did that once, but it was very good. Bed linens were top quality but the bed was a little hard; still slept fine with 0 noise/distractions. Asked hotel maid for down pillows and she literally RAN to go get them! The staff was outstanding and spoke English, so this helped so much when we needed directions and help planning our day. The room was beautiful but unfortunately the air condition was motion sensored and shut off when we were out for the day, so we were welcomed by a warm room each night. We put out a do not disturb sign for a few days and we were startled […] one night with a phone call and knock on the door asking if we needed towels. Another evening about 7:30 or 8pm we received a knock on the door asking if we needed anything laundered by the housekeeping. Otherwise the stay was pleasant, the room service was great and the hotel restaurant was amazing. The hotel was centrally located but they did not have a pool or jacuzzi. When I inquried about it we were directed to a SPA around the corner that wanted $30 euros a day to use their facilities. Read more

We stayed two nights at the hotel in mid-September. The staff were incredibly helpful - absolutely great service. The breakfast buffet was off the charts - a real work of art besides being delicous array of options. The location is perfect to see all the sites - Prado, Plaza Major a short walk etc. Highly recommend this hotel.

This an excellent place to stay. We were fortunate to have been upgraded to a "superior" room and it was gorgeous! The wood beam ceiling, wood floors, rain shower, free Internet, friendly and helpful staff, and a big comfortable bed made our 4-day stay here absolutely wonderful! The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of all Madrid's […] main attractions, except for the bullfights. But the Metro was close by so we had no trouble getting there. I rarely do ratings, but my wife and I both had an initial response that basically said "Wow." We were stopping at the hotel on our way home from a family vacation and wanted a comfortable, nice hotel to rest in before we returned to the States. The quality of everything was topnotch. The only issue we had, and this is a minor one, was that both my wife and I love to go to bed to movies, and there were only a couple of movie channels, both in Spanish (well, it is Spain, so I suppose that's to be expected). We would have liked a couple of non-news channels in English, but what can you do? The neighborhood was nice, but it's right next to a couple of streets lined with bars that appear to be populated mainly by foreigners. Thought NH Palacio de Tepa was a very nice hotel. I did a lot of internet searching before deciding on this one. Picked it because it had great reviews and a pretty good price. I booked 2 standard rooms for family of 4 and when checked in we were put into superior rooms on the top floor without asking (assume because they weren't that busy). We were […] there early - around 11 am and they were able to let us check in right away. Very clean room and bathroom. Bed and the pillows were slightly harder then I prefer, but room was quiet and dark so still slept very well. Front desk staff was very friendly as was the concierge. All spoke English. Internet is free with a code which they gave to us freely. Area around the hotel was not necessarily upscale, but we felt totally safe and it was a lively neighborhood with lots of cafes and all types of stores to keep us busy. Less then 10 min walk to Plaza del Sol with metro and hop on hop off busses. Would be happy to stay there again. Really no complaints at all. Read more

Everything about this hotel was "OK, but no more. Exactly 2 of each kind of towel per person, but no washcloths or spares. Room done neatly, but no turn-down other extra services. Staff that answered questions politely, but no real value add. A concierge who recommended good restaurants for tourists, but nothing like the cuisines or atmosphere we said […] most interested us, so we ended up selecting restaurants on our own. This contrasted sharply with our hotel immediately preceding in Barcelona - Casa Fustra - where all staff exceeded expectations, and very skilled concierge staff listened carefully to our personal preferences and satisfied them perfectly, rather than sending us to places on their standard list. The first "Superior" room we were given was on a top floor, with a sharply sloped attic ceiling, complete with window having a view only of the sky, plus a minimal bathroom sink. You literally hit your head on the ceiling while trying to sit in the chair. Fortunately, we could talk them into a room having normal walls and ceiling, plus a decent bathroom. We didn't use the hotel's restaurant, so we cannot comment on the food. The design though was so coldly modern, vs. all the more interestingly designed places nearby, that we never even checked the menu. Read more

The room was fantastic. Had wood roof with a view from the rooftop. great ammentities and the room was always clean. Also in a great location. The only issue is the room wasn't cheap which is fine as we were on our honeymoon and were willing to pay for quality, but the breakfast was not included. They were gonna charge us $25 EACH per day for the buffet […] or $20 if we prepaid at time of checkin. We stayed at two other hotels on our trip, both 5 star resorts and they both included breakfast for the same cost.
