The doorman was lovely. We travelled with a baby and he didn't want to take our tip for helping us with our mounds of luggage/gear. Tried to get 2 rooms for 2 nights directly at the hotel, but the front desk girl told me the hotel was sold out for Sat night. Went to nearby cafe and did booking via hotels.com. Front desk girl was surprised and said they'd […] have to contact expedia etc to tell them to cut the rooms off as they were fully booked. Don't think she understood how the third party sellers work. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, shops & pubs nearby on 5th ave, within walking distance. Never felt unsafe in the area. Hotel was clean and well presented. Note however, that they say they have refrigerators in the rooms, but that is not standard and we didn't get one, which was annoying as this was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel in order to keep milk for our baby fresh. They did however offer to keep it in their main refrigerator for us. Only stayed here after having no luck with the couchsurfing/apartment rental options we tried in the area. Parking at hotel is very limited but we got free street parking easily - just check the street signs for any restrictions. Can't comment on ease of getting into Manhattan as we spent most of our time in Williamsburg and caught subway into Manhattan from there only once, which was easy enough. Read more

I want to commend how helpful and nice the Front Desk Associates treated my daughter and I. My daighter had a dance competition and the Front Desk assisted me from getting from one side of Brooklyn to the other. Total stress free!! Thank you so much!! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!!

The 4th floor is vulenable to street noise at night. There was also hall noise between 12 nidnight and 7 am. That is not acceptable.

We have stayed in two other hotels in the general Park Slope area of Brooklyn. Each of these others was a Holiday Inn Express. While these other hotels were fine, the Fairfield Inn was better, and only slightly more expensive. The room was very comfortable, well appointed, and all elements and appointments functioned well. The hotel is in a surprising location, at least for how nice it looks. It was extremely clean and the staff was more than helpful explaining how to get certain places. Room was very nice, small, but nice. The area is deceiving, but is safe to walk around. The only downside was they shut down continental breakfast way too early, 9am.

Stayed here over new years weekend. Short 10 minute walk to Atlantic Ave MTA, Barclay's, and mall. The neighborhood between the hotel and Atlantic Ave is a little sketchy, but we walked safely through it around 2am. Subway to Penn Station is about 30 minutes. Was visiting my niece in Brooklyn on Christmas day and stayed one night. The hotel was clean and modern. The room was large and comfortable. The only complaint about the room, and a minor one, was that location of the switch for the bathroom light was on the wall behind the door and I had to close the door to reach the switch. I stayed at this hotel for my girlfriends 20th year anniversary/vow renewal celebration. Since everything was taking place in Brooklyn, it was hard for me to locate a spot that I felt comfortable in, until I located this place. My room was small, but for one person, I really didnt require much space. I had a king size bed, and my bathroom was updated […] with nice fixtures. I fell in love with the shower, but was a little annoyed that the water didn't stay hot very long. The staff was very helpful in directing me to food establishments all around the 3rd Avenue area. I felt very safe. The only reason why I gave this hotel a 4 for location convenience was because my cab drove right past it initally. It's small and if you are not paying attention, you will miss it. I enjoyed the breakfast, and their attention to detail. It wasn't your southern style breakfast, but it was enough to fill me up and get me going with my day. I also loved the fact that when I needed a cab, the staff was very helpful in locating a car quickly; however do not expect yellow cabs to come and pick you up, they only us town car service. The only complaint I have is that the price of the hotel dropped after I had locked in my rate through Hotels.com, and was told I couldn't get the lower rate. But if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, nicely rentavated space, this is it. Read more

Very convenient for attending events at the Barclay's Center. And I would serioursly consider this location for any trip to NYC. It's $100.00 to $200.00 less than hotels in Manhattan and every subway in the city stops within three or four blocks of it.. Very nice staff, too.

Parking is an extra $25 if that's a concern, but its NYC, and does include in and out privileges which is very nice. They have two lots apparently - one out front and one next door across the street, so parking spaces should be plentiful. It is an impressive new hotel in the hearth of Brooklyn. However, the location of the hotel is not great but manageable. The hotel staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean but small compared to the hotels we are used to in California. The complimentory breakfast is great.

My husband is very fussy when it comes to hotels and the Fairfield in Brooklyn was a great find. The hotel is very modern decor and clean. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The free breakfast was good but could run a bit longer on the weekend (say 10:30 or 11:00 am). The rooftop sitting area was fantastic as was the lounging area with flat […] screen TV on the hotel's lower level. The parking was on site and very reasonable ($25 per night) and there were two computers with printer for guests use. We were 3 blocks from the subway and cabs were all over in the area.The BEST part of our hotel stay was the STAFF. The front desk, the housekeeping, the breakfast coordinators, and hotel management went OUT OF THERE WAY to make our stay pleasant and accommodate our needs. The hotel was conveniently located within a couple of blocks of the subway. However, the area was a bit run down. The staff was very accommodating and even lent us their personal umbrella during a rainy afternoon. They also allowed us to park free of charge the day of checkout until 6 p.m.
