Hostel is located in Wanchaq, so not right in the center of Cusco with all of the tourist attractions- to me was worth it for the lack of noise at night. Cheap taxi to Plaza de Armas. We stayed there one night on our way up to Machu Picchu from Lima. We had arranged with Mercedes for a driver to pick-us up at the airport in Cusco. We also had Mercedes arrange the driver service to go the following morning to the train station in Poroy and a pick up service the following evening on our way back from Machu Picchu, and lastly drop off […] service the following morning from the hotel to the airport. Many details of the itinerary where exchanged all in one email and to our surprise everything worked out seemlessly. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, genuine, beautiful people, kind, warm, caring, and they made us feel very welcomed and appeared really happy to have us there. The hotel itself is charming, rustic, simple, and there is an indoor patio/garden with beautiful flowers and birds. We all had a wonderful experience. The only easily forgotten issue we had was the low end bathroom. There is only a shower curtain separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom so the whole bathroom floor gets wet while you shower making it unpleasant to use until it drains and dries. And the hot water takes a while to get warm. Without a doubt, when considering the asking rate for the night, this is truly a great deal. Read more

The hotel is not in the center, on a pretty dirty street and its pretty loud at night. The first night water in the shower was barely warm, on the second night there was NO WATER AT ALL! i would rather pay a little more and stay closer to the center in a place with water.

I would say all of them are SUPER friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the airport. The room was clean and had drawers which you can lock, and thick blankets (this was important because it was cold in cusco when we were there). Breakfast includes bread, jelly, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, and juice. Only reason I'm giving them 4 star is because […] the hot water didn't come out that well. The temperature in cusco on August went below zero at nights. They did not have heaters but I feel like that's how it is for most of Peruvian places. I've even been to my Peruvian friend's house who's at least upper-middle-class in Peru, and they also did not have heating system at home. I was actually okay taking a shower with lukewarm water, but my friend caught a cold and the water was too cold for him. There was a kitchen and we actually used it for cooking noodle soup. 15-20 mins walk (or 3 soles taxi ride) from the city center, which is not too far. However, if you book a trip to sacred valley through travel agencies, they usually pick you up from your hotel, but all of the travel agencies we contacted said our hostel is too far, so they won't come pick us up. Cusco is a small city, so relatively it's far from the city center. We were going to Machu Picchu early in the morning, and the owner gave us some bread we can bring there in case food there is too expensive. They always had drinking hot water on a table in the dining room, so you could get hot tea anytime. Read more

The hotel room was very big with shower room. They have hot water at all times unlike some places have no hot water. The hotel staff was very helpful. Not much surrounding the hotel and you need to take a taxi to city centre which is less than 10 min drive and costs less than £1.

This place may be cheap but it's in a pretty bad state of repair. The location is off the beaten track. The staff are friendly but don't expect too much. I'd recommend paying an extra $10 per night and stay somewhere central & nice. I was shocked by the high customer rating...I cannot fathom how people can rcommend this place.

The location is a bit removed from the main action, which can be great or a pain depending on what you want. The neighbourhood has fantastic seafood restaurants where the locals go for lunch. The rooms are basic but fair for the price. The owners are proud locals who encourage their guests to enjoy cusco with some cultural sensitivity.

They are willing to pick you up from the airport if you get into contact with them beforehand, which is very useful, because whilst it is very close to the airport and within walking distance normally, Cusco is at 3300m altitude and for first time visitors […] with luggage it could perhaps be a bit more difficult. It's a little difficult to find the front door at night for the first time if you left during the day so it is worth really making sure that you know the name of the street it's on (Avenide Infancias 548) and checking some local landmarks so that you know where to get your taxi driver to stop. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller needing friendly, affordable and comfortable accomodation in Cusco. The real star of this hotel is the owner, Mercedes, who goes out of her way to ensure that visitors stays are comfortable and enjoyable. She speaks near perfect english and her german is very good too. Nothing is too much for her, after picking us up from the airport she welcomed us with tea to help with altitude sickness, she arranged tours for us, made sure we were accompanied to the tour bus departure point in town, ran errands to pay our bills for us while we were out for the day, she helped us make phone calls, use the internet (WIFI was good here). バスでクスコに到着してすぐ、少年のひったくりに遭ってしまいました。このホテルに到着し、その旨を伝えるとすぐに英語のできる女性スタッフを呼んでくれ、ツーリストポリスへ一緒に連れて行ってくれました。そして、滞在中に誕生日を迎えた妻に、ケーキを持ってきてくれたり、咳をしている自分に気を使ってくれたりと、滞在中もこの女性スタッフがずいぶんと気を使ってくれました。おかげで、嫌な気持ちだった心もかなり癒されました。この宿を去る際、気を付けるのよとハグをされ、見送られました。とても、心に残る思い出となりました。また、クスコに来る際は、必ず訪れたいと思います。
