Upon our arrival they told us the hotel was closing. Was terribly run down and going out of business. Potentially it was sold and being refurbished, but the day we were there it was a wreck as old owners were moving out. Peeling wall paper. Good location, 5 minute walk to Wangfujing shopping street. Small convenience stores nearby. Rooms are a little old but the price is great so I would stay again.

Old budget / backpacker hotel, worth about 30 bucks a night. The Jade Garden is right next door, 3x better but twice the price. The location is great, minutes from the night market (it is small and you can finish it all in about 2 hours) and about 15 mins from the actual Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and subway (1 mile). The first room smelled like […] mildew, so we switched to room 108 which only had a slight smell and noisy AC. The hotel had a western style cafe / bar. Although the food isn't the same (hamburger was a soy patty and tuna melt had no cheese or tuna and was cold) they played western music and it was a nice attempt on their part and brake from all the Asian food. Wifi worked great in the lobby and wired internet was slow in the room. The staff spoke good English but will not call a taxi or arrange for any car services to the airport. They have tour packages for about 250 RMB. Safer than getting the services off the street for 100 RMB. But will still make you go to stores and want a 100 rmb tip at the end. Read more

The staff was great, despite the language barrier. Please note that the Chinese gov't blocks many internet sites and prevents attachments from opening,, but other than that the internet was OK. The bed springs that you could easily feel was the biggest gripe. . Buy a bar of laundry soap in any convenience store, and wash your own. A few minutes will save you heaps, that is if you will be here for a few days, as that is how long it will take to dry. This is a nice budget hotel. Room was small and a little rundown but everything worked. There was a nice cafe in the lobby with free wireless (also free wired internet in the room). You can just hang out in the cafe and read the plentiful supply of newspapers and listen to the music. I did not try the food or order drinks. They can arrange tours to the out of town sites although I did not do this. Seems to be a hangout for the more adventurous travelers of all ages from Europe and the United States. This hotel is in the center of everything. Just finding it was difficult the first day. I had to pay a rickshaw to get me there and of course I got ripped off, not too bad. If u land from the airport. Take the shuttle 2 xi Dan and get off at xi Dan, the last stop. Then u can go take the subway number 1 and get off at wongfujiang and walk two blocks […] to the hotel. Great location but there are other cheap hotels close by that look far cleaner and nicer. Rooms are not made or cleaned each day. Our room was made up but I dont think sheets have been changed in quite some time. There was still rubbish in our bins and rubbish on the floor. My children refused to sleep on the sheets provided and that is saying something […] since we have been budget travelling for 7 months. We normally stay at places that are affordable and cetral in the cities that we visit. This hotel was that. The fact that it had a bar and restaurant where my son could get his "western" food, was a bonus. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was about 10'x10' with a queen size bed. it was not room to walk around the bed, smelled mouldy and with my allergies, didn't sleep the two nights i was there. it wasn't any place to put any clothes, except for some hooks on the wall. the shower in the bathroom was on top of the toilette site and the only window was facing the hallway witch […] had the lights on all night. 一番安い部屋は、窓がなく円形のベッドで天井も斜めで大きな鏡が張ってありました。日本で言うラブホテルな感じです。２～３泊ぐらいなら安いし問題ないと思います。もう少し宿泊するのであればフロントで窓つきの部屋にアップグレードしてもらうと良いかと思います。 バスルームはシャワースペースとトイレの境がなく最初は戸惑うかもしれませんが、近隣でこの価格帯のところはどこも似たような感じのようです。 私が宿泊した時期には、欧米、東南アジア、南米からのカップルや一人旅が多く、ロシアからの家族連れもいました。 ロビーのカフェのドリップコーヒーはシッカリとした感じの味で２０元、夜は中国の生ビールジョッキで１２元と手頃でした。その他パスタやサンドイッチもあり。

When stay for one or two night, no problem that book to cheap room without window. However stay for more that I'll recommend to up grade to with window. Cause I got upgrade to room for take fresh air and see to outside that extra pay 20 RMB per a night. Then come with writing desk too. en primer lugar, aun llegando entrada la tarde, tras un viaje de mas de 24 horas, la habitación estaba sin limpiar y muy a nuestro pesar tuvimos que esperar en el pasillo 5 minutos que es lo que tardaron en limpiar la habitación, por lo que os podeis imaginar lo limpia que estaba... habia una cantidad de polvo debajo de las camas, la ducha no olía a […] limpio, aunque las toallas si que las cambiaban a diario. La otra sorpresa de la habitación es que la ducha no tiene pie, asi que te estas duchando directamente en el suelo, mojando todo el aseo, el water, espejo... es bastante incómodo la verdad. Las chicas de recepción tampoco son de lo más simpático, de hecho, le hicimos una consulta a una de ellas y muy descortesmente nos advirtió de que estaba ocupada y no podía hablar, cierto es que ya no eramos huéspedes pero lo habiamos sido durante 3 días y qué minimo que un poco interés, además tienen una cafetería/bar pero cierran super pronto, porque estando alli con unos amigos tomando una cerveza, un sábado por la noche, a las 10 y media nos dijo la camarera que no podía ponernos otra porque iba a cerrar... internet no nos funcionó el primer día tampoco y la conexión tampoco era muy buena la verdad. Метро рядом, минут 10 ходьбы (хотя первый раз, выйдя на станции Тяньаньмень, мы очень долго искали отель и даже полицейские не могли подсказать где он находится, а нужно было находясь перед Запретным городом обогнуть его справа и метров 500 пройти вперед вдоль дороги). Поблизости […] торговая улица Ванфудзин, улица с китайскими деликатесами, Запретный город, много недорогих продуктовых магазинчиков и ресторанов. Номер был маленький, очень чистый, окно выходило во внутренний дворик, ванной нет, только душ, туалет. Персонал отзывчив, хорошо говорит по-английски. В отеле есть ресторан, завтрак вкусный, несколько вариантов, стоит около 25 юаней, меню на русском языке. Интернет бесплатно, телефонная связь только внутри Китая. Остановимся там еще раз. The hotel was guite OK for the price, but there is few things you should know before you book it: The double room are terrible: the beds are round and small, so anyone who's height is 175 cm and above won't fit in there; they have no windows and are very tiny. The twin room is much more comfortable, but a little too loud. You have to be aware of setting up anything with a very long-haired receptionist, because she cheated on us: The day before we were checking out, we asked the receptionist if is possible, that we stay a half day longer for free as a compensation for that other day and she said is OK, but in the evening, when we were leaving, we had to pay for the late check-out.
