Very nice place to stay. The rooms are downright luxurious, and the whole place was nearly spotlessly clean. The gym isn't much to write home about, and the food in the restaurant wasn't great. That's a bummer, since the area around the hotel doesn't seem to have much to offer. The staff spoke very little English, but we managed to get by just fine. I would definitely stay there again.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights...staff is not particularly friendly, but they were efficient. Rooms were fairly large for an inexpensive Shanghai hotel. Rooms were clean and spartan. Walking distance to the "Bund". I would stay here again.

The Swissotel is a good hotel with an excellent location in the jing an area. However the rooms are small and the wireless Internet service is very very slow and unreliable.

It is only as short distance from the Bund, People's Square and close to the Nanjing Road, Xin Tian Di, historic Yu Garden, Lujiazui and Huaihai Zhong Road central business and leisure districts as well as Historic Duolun Road where provides you with easy access to an unforgettable shopping experience. The hotel is very nice, staff is excellent. Management were very attentive. The food was very good. Just don't eat a hamburger.
"Great hotel"
I was there from sept 10 to sept 17. Initially I booked three nights, but later I decided to stay at the hotel for the remaining days (cancelling the other one that I booked). the main thing is that the metro station is just a few steps away, and it saved so much time while we wanted to visit places. Pro: the hotel is excellent. The stuff were friendly […] - in fact we remarked that they were the friendliest service stuff that we have met in our trip at Shanghai. I noticed Shanghai service people lacked smiles, but Shareton did a good job in training their stuff. They were polite and attentive and speak good English. Our room was big and the beds were comfortable. Cons: The hotel is not in a posh neighborhood. We had problem finding a decent restaurant within walking distance. However, decent restaurants do exists within 5 minutes of cab ride. I would recommend this hotel if you don't care much about the neighborhood but want a comfortable and high end hotel for your trip. "Fantastic hotel, location not so great"
The hotel is a proper 5 star hotel. It was fantastic, rooms were spacious with breathtaking views. The food was excellent. The only problem we had was that taxis would not drive us back to the hotel. We could not understand the reason.

I had a very pleasant saty at this hotel. The rooms are large and most comfortable. The locations is OK and most sightseeing and shopping spots can be easily reached by taxi on a short drive. You may also make use of 2 subway lines that are just across the street. The staff is most freiendly and you get along pretty well with english. I enjoyed my stay […] and will be back again. Staff unsmiling. Good rooms. God facilities in the Hotel. No cigarettes sold in the Bar. No shops or cafes outside the Hotel. Difficult to get Taxis.

"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in"
Everything about this hotel is perfect. It is right next to a subway station serving lines 4 and 10. You can be in Nanjing road and the skyscrapers of Pudong in a few minutes. The hotel itself is brand new and the service is amazing. Everybody greeted me with a smile and the staff could all speak English. I will most definately choose that hotel again […] and I can recommend it to anyone! Read more
