Not happy
I was charged a lot for during check-in, for the extra person, which I feel was a rip-off and unfairly.

Good location in Ueno (ToKyo)
A very good location a few blocks from Ueno station. Stayed for two days before returning to USA, lots to do in the area and well stay again. Nothing fancy, typical Japanese business style hotel.

Great stay and convenient
Room was a bit cramped for me but I am of an average American. This is a budget hotel for business people. Usually Asian. Service is splendid here. Very polite and business-like. Also, very close to the train station and the world famous Ueno Park and zoo.

Showing some age
Tiny rooms, but that's normal in Japan at this price level. What was surprising was the old-style use of metal keys on long plastics sticks that you leave at the front desk when going out. Rooms were clean, but had no pot for boiling water. Bathrooms very small. Desk staff ultra-friendly. Convenient location in quiet neighborhood. Overall, it reminds me of hotels in which I stayed 20 or 30 years ago in Japan.
