"Good hotel to relax."
Very charming and rustic hotel. The hotel environment is very pleasing with trails and very nice swimming pool. The ambiance was fantastic. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of hot items.Genuine Expedia guest review
"overpriced and poorly maintained"
The resort is overpriced for its condition. The trails in the resort are poorly marked, and it seems that the butterfly garden is not tended at all. We stayed at the hotel for one night. We drove from Mount Verde and planned to go to the beach that afternoon. When we checked in at 3PM, our suite was not ready yet. We were told it would be ready in 15 […] minutes, but we ended up waiting for two hours. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"LaForesta was a good experience."
Very nice over all. We saw monkeys in their nature preserve and the pool is small but nice with a hot tub also. The staff was great. The only complaint was hard beds. We would return to LaForesta.Genuine Expedia guest review
"La Foresta Nature Reserve"
Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and restaurant were nice as well. However, it is not close to Quepos or Manuel Antonio, which meant transportation was expensive. The beds were also truly awful, very old and lopsided from use.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great customer service - everyone at the front desk and the restaurant was very friendly. The hotel is very nicely situated and perfect for a quiet weekend in a resort.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff at La Foresta Nature were wonderful and welcoming. When you enter the resort it is exotic looking and fun. The lay out is easy to navigate. The rooms are very big, but the furniture in the sitting room is not very comfortable and the tv is in the kitchen (odd). The bed is very comfortable, but you can hear the street tragic from some rooms. […] The shower is temperamental and not very good. The water didn't always come out, and got cold quick. Overall it was good experience. The Canopy TiTi tour is great! and it is a bonus that it ends right at the hotel. I think for the price I expect a little more, but it was good. The staff truly made it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Room without windows or curtains. Wedged between the highway and airport noise never stops. Furthermore the hotel is 5 kilometers from Quepos. Even if staff do their job properly, that is not enough to offset the discomfort and constant noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Near a noisy road, but nice people"
The 2 bedroom bungalows were nice enough, but kind of hot with minimal air conditioning and quite a few ants in one. Nice small pool and bar. Very nice jungle path, easy to walk, where we saw lots of monkeys both days (hint- go out around 6:45 - 7:30 a.m. We didn't see them in the afternoon). Biggest problem is that it is right next to highway 34 which […] is quite noisy most hours of the day and night. It is also quite far from Quepos or Manuel Antonio - don't stay here if you don't have your own car. People there were very nice and we enjoyed the 13 segment zipline tour offered there as well. "A Carefree Stay in a Beautiful Place."
Resort staff are all friendly, helpful and personable. Prompt attention to our needs, and day trips planned efficiently. Any minor changes were communicated to us in a timely fashion - no need to worry - just enjoy. Good food aplenty! A particularly wonderful atmosphere for families with small children through teens. Lots to do - Zip-Line right into […] your resort!!! SO much fun. Definitely a recommend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

quepos […]
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Horrible experience with hotel that closed their doors and never told me"
01/11/14 Jesswest22 Denver, Colorado
I was all set to leave for my vacation to Costa Rica and thought I would just call to re-confirm my hotels before I left since I had learned this was a good idea from past experiences. I called La Foresta a few days before my departure from the U.S and was told by someone that answered the phone for the zip line tour that runs from there, that the resort had closed down in October. I was so surprised to find this out since no one ever contacted me from the resort to let me know or offer me another suggestion. I had made my reservation in August. Thank goodness I called to confirm or I would have come to the hotel, just to be turned away with no reservation anywhere. I had to scramble to find another hotel at the last minute at premium prices. We even drove by the resort when we were out there to find it was empty and there was no one to even talk to. To add insult to injury, I received an e-mail the day after I would have checked out, thanking me for staying there and asking how I would I rate my experience? Seriously? It was a terrible experience. I wonder if anyone else had a similar experience with this hotel?

La Foresta was a great spot to have it all. Access to Quepos, Maneuel Antonio National Park, wildlife, zip lining, and trails on the property. Food was great and lots of variety, staff were pleasant and helpful. The pool although somewhat small was a really nice trip after being out for the day. Loved the squirrel monkeys and the army ants. Had a great visit.
"Make me a Tica QUICK!!! Love La Foresta"

We were fortunate enough to find this little slice of heaven in Quepos for our wedding, vacation and honeymoon. How did I get so lucky, I must be living right! The location, service, food and the STAFF were absolutely amazing. The rate included breakfast which was great with plenty of wonderful options. There is so much to do on the grounds of La Foresta, Zip Line and the trails are amazing we spent three and a half hours on the trails and experienced more wildlife that we did at Manuel Antonio. The zip line and Titi Canopy Tours were exceptional!! We did both the daytime and nighttime Zip Line and the Titi Canopy Tours set up all of our fabulous excursions from the catamaran (includes snorkeling, Mangrove tour, Waterfall Rapelling, ATV tour to the Rainmaker! 200 characters is not enough to share all the wonderful things we did!! The memories will always hold a very special place in my heart!! again 100 times better than I expected!! We will be back

This was the place where my daughter was married on Feb the 9th, the staff and owner went above and beyond to make this one of the most beautiful weddings I have attended. The breakfast was great with a lot of options. In the morning we got to see monkeys and beautiful butterflies, there are 3 walking trails, an easy one for us old folks and the other two for the more adventurous. The flowers are absolutely breathtaking especially the flower arrangements for the wedding and the tables. We booked several great tours through the front desk and were never disappointed in their suggestions. Can hardly wait to go back and explore some more of what Costa Rica has to offer. I am definitely going to try my hand at sail fishing next visit.!!!!!!

My niece was married on the grounds of La Foresta and the ambiance was serene and breath-taking. The staff was very accommodating, amiable and well trained. All planning was made by the staff in a timely manner for the different and varied tours and rides that included transportation. There was never a time to just be lounging at the hotel since there was so much to take part in; Manuel Antonio nature guided tour, horseback riding, Canopy Zip lines, the beach, downtown shopping, ATV rides and eating out or at the hotel. The flora and fauna at La Foresta included beautiful flowers and trees and the different monkeys, birds and iguanas; all a passion of mine. Looked forward to the free breakfast at the restaurant every morning. La Foresta is a hotel for partying or just plain lounging; totally wonderful. Can't say enough positive about the place! As the owner, Chris makes sure all needs of the guests are promptly taken care of and to their satisfaction. I'll be back again! Pura Vida!!!

Just back from a fantastic voyage in Costa Rica made all the more enjoyable by La Foresta Nature Resort. Attended best friend's wedding and could not be more pleased with the fantastic accommodations. Breakfast every morning with titi monkeys, toucans, and iguanas within eyesight. My room was spacious, clean, air-conditioned, equipped with cable TV and refrigerator. The food at Los Senderos Bar and Restaurant was truly delicious and affordable. Housekeeping and concierge services were attentive and thorough. My zip line tour, waterfall rappelling, rainforest hiking, ATV tour, restaurant seeking, and beach bumming were all handled seamlessly by the La Foresta staff. Daily shuttles to Manuel Antonio Beach are free and convenient. Our party was sizable but everyone's needs were met without exception. La Foresta Nature Resort will meet the needs of families and thrill-seekers alike. I will be back!
"Beautiful Scenery, Great Location!"
Went for BFF's wedding, awesome hiking trails and ziplines on property! Beautiful wildlife, great service. Easy access to town and Manuel Antonio. ATV tour to The Rainmaker was like nothing I have ever experienced. Night time zipline was great, always felt safe. Great place to bring kids! Wonderful breakfast and dinners! We cannot wait to come back! Thank you.
"Good Experience. Recommend it."

This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. The location makes it very convenient. Service upon check in and at the restaurant was excellent. Enjoyed the pool and hiking trails. Hammock outside the room and chairs on the patio made it very relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings.

Good hotel, the rooms are spacious, nothing fancy but Ok. The food was average. Manuel Antonio beaches are great, we spent a lot of time there so we didn't even use the hotel's pool. I will recommend this as Ok.

We felt the rooms looked like army barracks from the ourside, but the inside surprised us; it was more comfortable than we would have expected. The bathroom was spacious with a big walk-in shower, and the room provided room for a fridge and a little seat. Unfortunately, despite the room's comfort, everything about the hotel screamed faded glory; an early 80's american style. Although the room was clean the pool wasn't; the water smelled odd and we saw bandaids floating around, also in the jacuzzi area. Dinner was average, but what was funny is that the restaurant seemed to be used as a personell hangout; very loud music, people walking in and out to have a beer at the bar. We were grateful that the waiter at some point asked whether we preferred the music turned down a little (because honestly we could barely hear each other), but to us it only confirmed this hotel has seen better days. The location isn't very interesting or cozy next to the main road either.
