The hostess, Elena was very friendly/helpful. The room was very basic, but clean and in an "authentic" neighborhood. Good breakfast at the bar next door. Good access to bus service to all destinations. I would return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and friendly in a unique, connected 'hood"
First off: Elena, the manager, is fantastic. She had our room ready ahead of schedule to match our arrival, setup a free crib for our 7 month-old, gave us a thorough bus / walking route overview (including a GREAT spot on the Aventine hill), and was generally a happy and energetic presence during our stay. Our room was simply furnished, and spotlessly […] clean. The B&B is on the 3rd floor (we'd say 4th in the U.S.), but there's an elevator if your legs are tired. The neighborhood is not heavily touristed (yet), and is home to a handful of theaters, several good restaurants, a nice market, and lots of Romans who aren't in tourism industries. So we generally spoke our poor Italian there (though not with Elena, who has a good command of English) on our way to a couple of the best meals of our trip, and one or two slightly chilly receptions. Although the neighborhood is a longer but pleasant walk from the main postcard sites, there are bus options, and its train connections were great: we walked to the B&B after arriving at Ostiense from Florence, walked back to Pyrimide for the short ride to and from Ostia Antica, and then back to Ostiense to catch the train to Fiumicino airport. The breakfast was coupons for an Italian-style (a coffee drink, a delicious pastry, and some juice) colazione at the cafe downstairs, but if that's not your style, you can cash out the coupon for a few euros instead. We had a great experience and would certainly stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The manager was very helpful and gave us directions to get around the city. She also recommended a pizza place that had the best food I ate my whole trip and it's just across the street. Located in a nice residential area with a lot of small cafés close by. Short walk to public transportation but we walked to all the sites. It was a little loud outside […] at night but nothing too bad. I would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rome among the locals"
My husband and I really enjoyed our 5 day stay in this quaint B&B in the Testaccio neighborhood which is a family-friendly location overlooking a park. Elena(manager) speaks English and was so welcoming and helpful with directions! She gave us the large room with a balcony overlooking the park (request this room)where we enjoyed watching the friendly […] Testaccio locals. The room was reasonably priced, clean and spacious with a private bathroom. The beds(3) were comfortable and there was ample space in the closets for our things. It is close to buses which we used to visit the many sights in Rome. We had a voucher for coffee and a pastry each morning. We would definitely stay there again! "Great location, close to city but without tourists"
On arrival Elena gave us a detailed review of the area and invaluable information to help us find our feet, e.g. bus routes, restaurants, places to see. Elena was always available to contact but she left us to find our own Rome giving the B&B more of a apartment feel. Brilliant breakfasts downstairs in the cafe gave us the real Roman experience with […] Italians dashing in to drink their morning espresso. Would really recommend pizzeria Remo on the opposite corner of the piazza for a great dinner! A lovely holiday. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

With an extremely helpful and friendly host, this B&B is ideal for exploring Rome, close to convenient bus routes and a mere 20 minute walk from some of the city's finest sites. I stayed at this B&B for 4 days. Everything was great. The room, the view, the building, the cafeteria downstairs where I had breakfast everyday and of course Elena. She is a brilliant host. "Very Safe Residential area and a GREAT Host!!!"
This is very centrally located BnB with a lot of bakeries around. We had opted for the the biggest room with the attached balcony. It felt like home!So clean and comfortable! Its more of a residential area with a beautiful park in front which is mostly crowded and makes this place very safe to stay in Rome. The host is one of the most helpful ,cheerful […] and imformative host I had ever met!She gave us a map of the city and explained to us in detail the routes to reach all the attractions. It was because of her that our trip was a success because we didn't have to spend any time researching which bus/ train to take to get to the colosseum etc.If I ever visit Rome again I would only stay at this place! If you are a couple do take the room with the attached balcony and toilets. "Nice B&B in a very good location of Rome."
This is a very nice B&B in an excellent location of Rome. Elena is the host and she is wonderful - she guided us will all relevant information about Rome. Only a minor concern is the shower room was bit small (it was OK for us with vest size of 32/34 but could be a problem for a wider person) - we opted for private bathroom room. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Rome. The room was very nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is good near the bus and subway. "All good except Shower is like up right coffin."
This is a private apartment which is modified in to rent accommodation, Location is good, close to the main attractions, Caretaker is a very friendly lady who is more than willing to help. Just about every thing with in walking distance, Access to the building is ok, there is a small lift that barely fits 4 person, however it is handy to take your luggage […] via lift rather than steps. Down side is the bathroom, I must warn people if you are slightly bigger than size 40 inch around the waste , you are going to have very serious problem getting in to the shower, Shower is like upright coffin, you can hardly move in to it, let alone trying to wash your lower part of the body. It is ridiculously uncomfortable to take shower, if you try to wash your head your elbows will hit side screen. Other than that bathroom it self is ok, it is the darn shower that is built on little square and it put me off. Room is ok it has large window, lots of light, you have air con, WiFi works, bit slow to let you do face time, When not many using the internet, you may do face time. If the shower was a bit bigger in size, would have rated the place 5 out of 5 value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel for seeing Rome on a budget"
Helena couldn't have been more helpful. She gave us all the information we needed to see everything as cost effectively as possible in Rome. The B&B is in a perfect location, 5 minutes bus ride from pretty much all the sights and there is a supermarket right below. Our only critasism was the cafe below were you get your breakfast - although the food […] was fine, we found the staff quite rude. This however, is no reflection on the B&B itself and we would reccomend it to anyone wanting to see all that Rome has to offer on a budget. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Rome is fairly pricey, Testaccio B&B is not and still it's fairly close to the center of Rome. Travel times range from 20 minutes walking to the Colosseum and 50 minutes or so walking to the Vatican. The four of us (parents, 2 children 17 & 11) walked in and out of the city each day. What really makes staying at Testaccio B&B special, however, is Elena. […] She is fantastic. "no frills but fine"
This B&B is in an apartment in one of the blocks around the square: situation extremely convenient for our purposes, and Testaccio in general is a great area. There was a balcony, which would have been nice had it been spring or summer. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was ok, although some of the pipework in the block probably needs […] updating. Breakfast is in the bar next door: you get vouchers entitling you to coffee, a pastry and a fruit juice. The owners were very helpful: I got a call before I even left home to arrange a convenient check-in time, and when we arrived it was no problem at all to put an extra bed in the room. I travelled with my partner and children (2 and 10) but this would suit a variety of clientele. Not amazingly cheap by any means, but not too bad for Rome I suppose. Happy to recommend it.

Visitekaartje in B&B aanwezig. Ga voor de pasta met Gorgonzola en courgette, hmmm! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Calm, convenient, welcoming"

I experienced the B&B vicariously when we put my mum up there recently for 5 nights. Elena was so welcoming, and spoke excellent English (my mum has no Italian), plus did a great job explaining breakfast (vouchers for the downstairs bar). Mum's very spacious (double) room had a really lovely modern en suite bathroom (which she rated highly), loads of wardrobe space, and a huge window overlooking what's currently our only Piazza (till Piazza Testaccio is finished...). Piazza Santa Maria is a lovely oasis of trees, kids playing, dog-walkers (me), plus lots of bars, a pizzeria (Remo — v good, but not actually my favourite in Testaccio), a bookshop, a gelateria. There are small supermarkets nearby, enoteche, many restaurants, a few excellent bakers, and Testaccio market. Overlooking a lively square some street noise is inevitable in the rooms, but on the third floor I think it's fairly muted (no complaints about nighttime noise from my mum). Friendly, clean, excellent value, comfortable bed, Mum definitely wants to stay here again!

This B & B is within walking distance to the historic center of Rome, and close to the metro, train station and bus stops . There is a supermarket downstairs which is very convenient. It's located in a nice neighborhood, and Elena was a great host. Breakfast downstairs consists of a large croissant, juice and a cappuccino which was quite filling and very good. Our room was quite big and airy and we also had a private bathroom. The shower is a little too small though, not ideal for a big person. The common areas of the apartment is need of renovation, however the rooms are quite nice and modern. Highly recommended.

A great B&B in a lovely neighbourhood just a short bus ride away from Rome centre. I really enjoyed my stay here, and Elena was very helpful and friendly. I chose this B&B based on the reviews here and I wasn't let down. Transport links nearby are good, and the breakfast you get at the cafe downstairs is lovely. Hopefully I can visit Rome again in the future, and will definitely stay here again!

Elena is truly a great host, she provides us with maps and explained routes and places to see. The location of the hotel is a walking distance into town about 20 mins. . We did get tired though as we took longer routes than necessary and got lost often in Rome haha :) nonetheless, there are train stations close by to the station. Testaccio is a great location to stay if you want to stay near the locals rather than mass tourist areas. The best pizza in town is located a square opposite the hotel which is called pizza Remo ! It's crazy busy and tastes amazing please do visit ! Breakfast - vouchers were given for a cup of capachino and a pastry from the downstairs cafe. Such cute elderly locals eat abd drink from here it's lovely. It's a safe area and free wifi ;)

Stayed here for 3 nights, our first - but definitely not last - trip to Rome and this B&B could not have been better. Ideally located near some fantastic bars and restaurants, a 20 to 30 minute walk from the centre of Rome and near to local buses and trains. Plus Elena is a fantastic host and spent time explaining where to eat and drink and how to get places. She could not have been more welcoming and friendly. If only every city had a B&B like this, it's an absolute gem!

"Friendly b&b in a great location"
03/07/14 katie-likes-holidays Barcelona, Spain
Stayed here in feb/march and was really happy with it. For what we would have paid per night in one of the central hotels, we got three nights here, and it was just what we were after. The b&b is spotlessly clean, well heated, and well located. Breakfast of a cake and a coffee downstairs in the cafe made us feel like we were part of the local scene. Elena gave us loads of useful tips on local buses, so don't even think about bothering with the tourist bus or the roma pass! Normally, I'd run a mile from anything with a shared bathroom, but seriously, it was fine. Staying here felt more like being at a friend's house, and the amazing restaurants of Trastevere are a short walk across the bridge. Special mention to AK Bar for pre dinner drinks, and Le mani in pasta for dinner (book!).
"Perfect Place and Position"

I stayed here for a week and it was perfect for my needs. Elena is also the perfect host, very friendly and gave me everything I needed, such as a jug to boil some water in my room, cup, cutlery, as there is no kitchen facility. She also gave me a map and took time to describe the bus Nos. and routes, and places of interest. She picked me up from the station in her little car, as it had just started to rain and I had a heavy suitcase. I had a shared bathroom, but it was with only one other person and we never clashed. Everything was cleaned daily, the room was large and light and the bed comfortable. Breakfast is in the bar next door and there is a little park across the road with trees and benches. I caught the bus several times, but I also walked into the centre of Rome which only takes about 15 minutes of casual walking alongside the river. This is definitely a B&B I would recommend and would like to stay here again when back in Rome.
