The Red Lion - Townhouse hotel - Cotswolds

Everything that we read about was true, great beers, good food, warm comfortable bar and nice accomodation. There is no restaurant service on Sunday evening here (or in any of the other hotels) but the Thai restaurant in the village is excellent. We were unlucky that the bar was closed all day Monday while a new carpet was laid, so we had to go elsewhere […] for lunch. There is a very large beer garden and I imagine this place gets very busy in the summer. We had no problem but parking is on the street; transfering luggage might be a hassle unless you can find a suitable spot nearby. Great place to stay. Attached to a fantastic pub with its own brewery to the rear – honestly one of the best nights stay I have had in a long while. Food was amazing: had a great breakfast and suburb evening meal featuring completely locally sourced ingredients – Did I mention gin-hour? Don’t take my word for it come see for yourself …

Very pleasant overnight stay. Good food. Would have preferred more light in the room and provision of instant coffee would be preferable to having to boil kettle twice in order to get 2 cups of coffee via the cafetiere

This B&B is highly convenient to access the last tranche of the Thames path, and would appear to be the best choice for Cricklade. The rooms are rather new and clean, and the restaurant offers very good food. On the minus side, access to the rooms is via the back yard, not very pleasing, and the extract fans can be heard late into the night.

The Red Lion was a lovely place to stay. It was well situated and reasonably priced. The reception area is at the bar, so that was a novel experience. But the bar area was busy, vibey and full of character. We were shown to our room by a very friendly lady. The room was large, comfortable and clean, and the bathroom spatious.

we booked in to the Red Lion fairly last minute and found the ideal for our needs the accomodation very clean and comfortable in what was a very friendly pub/hotel.Breakfast was well cooked and well presented and certainly set you up for the day ahead. The restaraunt was fine and we enjoyed a smashing meal when we booked on the second night. The only […] negative was we were led to believe there was on site parking which was not the case and we had to find a space on arrival and each night on a very busy high street. We stayed here for one night whilst walking the Thames Path. Everything was extremely good - the room was HUGE with massive bed, all really clean and in good condition. The restaurant was very good with interesting range of dishes all locally sourced. My only comment would be that there was a bit too much red meat/ game on it for me - but husband was […] very happy! The staff could not have been nicer. There was a bit of noise from the garden in the evening but we were so tired after walking that it didn't disturb us, but on another night it might have been a bit of a problem.
