The Pensione Accademia was a beautiful and quiet spot in a busy and crowded Venice. It is a few minute's walk from the Accademia vaperetto stop which was so convenient. There were also tables to enjoy our breakfast every morning which was very good. Inside on the main floor was a lovely sitting room. Our room was on the 2nd floor, which had a large salon overlooking the gardens on one side and the canals on the other side. The salon contained comfortable and beautiful furnishings and art works. Our room was a junior suite which overlooked the garden. It was nicely furnished and very spacious. It had a nice sitting room with a desk and comfy chair and day bed. There were two cupboards for clothing. The bathroom was large and very modern. We are in love with Venice and part of the reason why is this beautiful hotel. Read more

This hotel located in a great location away from the very crowded St Marks Square but close enough with a short walk. The garden courtyard is very nice and a welcome respite after a day exploring Venice. The breakfast buffet offers something for every diet and is very good. Would recommend this hotel.

We love this place! Ten years ago we stayed here, and it lived up to our memories. Just around the corner from the Grand Canal, it's truly an oasis, not far from the Accademia vaporetto stop. The front courtyard (breakfast al fresco) and the back garden are lovely. The staff is welcoming, and they gladly made reservations for us when we wanted to have […] lunch at the Hotel Cipriani on the Giudecca. We left before breakfast on our last day, and they packed us a box to take to the airport. The room was air-conditioned, with wonderful territorial views in three directions; only drawback was that it was on the third floor (no elevator) with low beams and thus a bit cramped. The Accademia staff is warm, enthusiastically helpful and it was a pleasant visit back to the past. A charming place, with impeccable manners and anxiousness to please. Venice is NEVER easy with luggage, and it is costly just to get to the hotel when you no longer are young enough to hop on to a vaporetto with several pieces of luggage (although vaporetti […] staff are great about assisting) or trudge through crowded streets and haul bags up and down small bridges. This was a good location not far from the Grand Canal and accessible on the south side by water taxi also. The property is quiet, gardens well maintained and hotel staff very helpful with directions and suggestions about site-seeing. The hotel decor is amazing - obviously well cared for and Venice at it's best.

Pensione Accademia was perfect in every way for the two of us. The location is really convenient-- a five minute walk from the Accademia vaporetto stop, the room was large with a view of the canal, the bed comfortable, the AC in working order. Lovely and quaint hotel in an old venitian house. Rooms are nice and well kept with all amenities. Buffet breakfast was good and hotel serves complementary fruits and lemon ice tea in the afternoons. The staff were really nice and helpful. Beautiful experience and will stay there again!

Walking up the stairs, and entering the sitting room with a glass case housing an armor, made us know we were no longer in the US! The room was lovely.The location was great - and very easy to find. The hotel is in very good shape for an old building with lots of history. My room was small, however, bed very comfortable and modern bathroom. The location is just 2-3 blocks from the ferry stop Accademia. Breakfast was fine, but there appears to be no elevator so you better be able to walk up stairs. Good hotel, good location.

Unfortunately only got to stay one night at the end of a cruise at this atmospheric oasis in the middle of Venice during toursit season. A garden in front and back with green grass and blooming plants. You can sit in either. There is a first floor (above ground floor) sitting room. Very welcoming when we arrived. Brilliant location as it's quieter than some areas but close enough to walk to San Marco and close to Vaporetti stop. Near the Guggenheim and other art galleries. I don't think a hotel of this class and price should be so particularly unhelpful as the receptionists were when I explained that as a fairly old and very sick woman I could not face carrying all my luggage over the small bridge necessary to reach the vaporetto on departure and could I have some help ? I did not feel their response was helpful either […] in consideration or helpfulness. First there was no question that any member of staff might helpm an absolute final negative, and secondly I had to really dig to get them to admit there might be a possible solution to my problem. Each suggestion I made they found reasons for it not being possible. Thirdly the solution eventually provided - a quite expensive water taxi and a singularly unhelpful and extremely expensive porter at the other end was not optimal to say the least. In fact I ended up having to carry my baggage very much further than probably would have been the case had I gone on the vaporetto and depended on the help of any chance passer-by. Really I was left with the impression that if you asked for anything which required some sense of fellow humanity it would not be provided. Otherwise all perfectly in order. Other than that the hotel has some charm which the management has done its best over the years to eradicate by the lack of taste in refurbishment . The garden is nice to have but could be so much more charming. In fact this applies to the hotel generally. A disappoitment. Read more

Right on the Grand Canal, and handy to the Accademia Bridge, this hotel was clean and quiet, with lovely surrounds and a good breakfast. Not all rooms have a view, but a nice ambience anyway. Good value.

The complimentary lemon tea, biscuits and fruit provided every afternoon between 4 and 8 in the bar were extremely welcome after a long day of sightseeing.
