"Great inn in the Shenandoah Valley"
The stay (3 nights) was great....love the location, the staff is extraordinary, the restaurant is affordable fine dining. Highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Hotel and neighborhood"
The Hotel has lots of charm that a building build in 1902 would have, with lots of period pieces of furniture and photos. (The toilet was not working very well, and looked like the guts needed to be replaced inside the tank.) Breakfast was very nice and there were nice neighborhoods to walk to and it's close to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Picturesque old hotel near the northern entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Comfortable room with antique furnishings. Nice continental breakfast, no malted waffles thank goodness!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel Strasburg was a quaint hotel, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Staff was extremely pleasant. Breakfast was more than adequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is a nice, clean hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but that was all we needed for a one night stay. I was surprised that the hotel being old that it had no musty odor or other smells that usually come with old properties. We were happy we decided to stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved it-but was bed really "Select Comfort?""
I loved staying here, it fit my needs and was a step back in time for me. The only criticisms I have is (1) staff not looking under the bed to ensure the Kleenex and water bottle be removed prior to my arrival. I found these things and discarded them myself; (2) I don't believe the bed really was a "Select Comfort-Sleep Number" bed. The bed was comfortable […] and I had no trouble sleeping. My SC-bed is more than 10 years old, so maybe the technology changed. Loved the TV-DVD unit, so I could play the movie I brought one night during my stay. Looking forward to my next opportunity to stay there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Unfortunately we were only for a few hours of sleep and wish we could have enjoyed our stay a little longer. It was perfect for what we were looking for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice old fashioned hotel"
Nice circa 1900 hotel with restored rooms. The food and everything about was very economical and it's a very pleasant place to spend a few days.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We love the area. We have stayed in several places"
Pleasant staff. Great food. Fair prices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent restaurant for dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Celebration Site"
We enjoyed a pleasant stay in a quiet setting. The staff extended themselves to meet our every need. My wife and I returned to the restaurant after checkout to help my mother celebrate her 80th birthday. They continued their superb service. We enjoyed a dining area to ourselves, and our server took any pictures we requested.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
enjoyed two night stay, had been here lat year. Loved the room except the AC was very loud and the wifi access did not work. The hostess at breakfast was very attentive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Above and Beyond"
The staff was more than wonderful! Our room was a fantastic walk back in time, yet superbly comfortable with great details. The restaurant was great. The hot breakfast was delicious as well. This was a gem that should not be overlooked for a box hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice small town getaway"
We love this hotel. It doesn't pretend to be what it's not. It's like a set in a western movie, with American antiques and a Victorian feel. Dinner is to die for, and we chose seafood pastas. We were charged $10 per night for our small dog, which is very reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Skyline Drive Visit"
Nice older hotel, staff was excellent, food was very good. The room need work. Converted store room, small bathroom, ceiling needed work. We travel to VA 2 or 3 times a year, I would stay at the hotel again, but not in the same room (306). The Hotels.com price made it worthwhile.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Step into the past"
Staying at the Hotel Strasburg is like stepping into a time capsule. It is an old-fashioned hotel with quaint decor, friendly staff, good food, and reasonable prices. It is also pet-friendly. It has all the modern amenities within an atmosphere of yesteryear. It would be a great place for a romantic getaway given the proximity to the Skyline Drive, […] Luray Caverns, and the whole Shenandoah Valley. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old town charm"
Nice quant town for a little antiquing, etc., perfect place to stay while there. Hotel restaurant was pretty good for both dinner and breakfast. Went down to main street to Christina's for dessert (holy cow it was good) and live Blue Grass music. Also the bar/pub in the hotel gets very good marks!Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful, clean hotel. You could feel the atmosphere as it was the beginning of twentieth century. They had free w-fi and breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exquisite old-time elegance one can afford"
Full of character, a very nice change (at a reasonable price) than the generic chain-name hotels for the frequent business traveler. Had a great good "home-cooked" gourmet dinner in hotel restaurant, only one there on a weeknight, they sure deserve more business!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Kind staff at the Charming Strasburg"
The Strasburg is very nice and cozy. The staff couldn't have been nicer and allowed us early check in. When I told them I was going hiking and wished for a bit more protein than the standard starches in the continental breakfast offerings, 2 hard boiled eggs were wonderfully and magically offered to go! Thank you! That sort of kindness cannot be measured […] and saved my hike later! We had one of the smallest and least expensive rooms, and even so, it was charming. Next time we will upgrade for a bit more space because we saw from open doors into empty rooms that there were many more and nicer alternatives. We liked our room. On mini breaks, I like venturing into the strange world of antiquey hotel rooms -- I'm a voyeur when we travel, they are nothing like my own spare and clutter-free home. Charming! Unfortunately, our bed was not comfortable and my husband suffered sore hips. The hotel is clean, but the lobby could use a good reassessment as far as clutter goes. After many years, the taped notes and all the endless stuff really detracts from what could be a more upscale presentation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great historic place!"
Our third stay in this Victorian styled inn and motel. Great charm and helpful service people. Internet was slow, however, and food was not as good as the other two times. Room was clean and quiet atmosphere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Weekend Get-Away"
We were looking for a romantic get-away in the Valley. She's a B&B fan, I love hotels. Hotel Strasburg is the perfect compromise. Great rooms. Nice bar. Good breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Avoiding Cookie Cutter Motels"
We just needed a clean, warm, convenient place to stay on our way south. This place filled the bill. Not too hard to go back a hundred years while looking around the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old hotel, excellent service"
The service was amazing, and the complimentary continental breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel. The hotel itself was very old- and it showed. There was a gap along the bottom of the door that was 3 inches at its widest, and the room was a little small. Still enjoyed our stay very much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not impressed ......wifi did not work.....room temp was cool even after turning heat on ...service in dining room was slow and overall would not go back to this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Uniqueness of the hotel"
Fun and interesting. We enjoyed the pub.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This beautiful, historic hotel, in combination with a historic town with a pace and family traditions that make you feel like you stepped into another century, made to an unforgettable getaway for my husband and me. However there is a warning I want to give. The pictures of the rooms on hotels.com website are random and have nothing to do with the room […] that the price corresponds to. With that caveat, I can say that the hotel exceeded all our expectation. The room we thought we picked on the basis of the website picture, was spacious and intimate at the same time. The hotell was gracious enough to allow us to stay in that room, in spite of the fact that it regularly costs twice the amount we paid. It was in a separate building next door, but still part of the complex of buildings that, early in the last century, used to be a hospital and housing for the doctor and nurses The rooms are furnished with beautiful period pieces but have all modern conveniences. The hotel restaurant, with lace tablecloths and complete Victorian furnishing and decorations, is another treasure in the hotel. The food is great and the atmosphere transports you to the Victorian era. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"An overnight birthday stay."
I love the old Victorian charm. The restaurant has amazing food, the pub is relaxing, service was outstanding (the woman who checked me in was a grandma so I couldnt ask her to carry my bags :( ) and our room was a smaller size but cozy. There are no amenities-such as pool or spa, but the old charm is inviting and for a one night stay it felt great […] to get away and relax. I would leave the kids home. "Cozy and romantic"
This hotel was just what we were looking for-- quaintly decorated, affordable and friendly staff. We also really enjoyed the Sunday breakfast buffet. It's not the most updated place around, but it was perfect for our getaway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Little Hotel!"
The staff was friendly, responsive and helpful. The rooms were clean and decorated in their Victorian theme. A great spot to spend the night and venture along the town strip, go hiking or on winery tours. The restaurant was also very good. I would recommend and I will likely be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Hotel near the Blue Ridge Mountains"
This little hotel has a lot going for it: location, history (it was built in 1902), nice staff and manager. We purchased a queen for two nights through Hotels.com, when we got there we had been upgraded to a suite with a whirlpool tub because they had run out of queen bed rooms. The problem was that the bed was hard as a rock and it was tough to sleep. […] On top of that on both Fri and Sat night we were there the Volunteer Fire Dept sirens went off which woke us up. The manager, Sam, was very nice and apologetic and gave us a gift certificate for the next visit. He said they are upgrading the beds and he has a complaint in re: the sirens. "A quaint Hotel that is a real suprise"
You should make note that there is no elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we have to go up 2 flights of stairs. Also, although our room was very quaint - it really was tight for 2 people. However, the front desk girl was sooo nice and very helpful that she really made our stay enjoyable. I think her name was Ronnie (not sure) but she was just […] as helpful as she could be. "a trip to a time long forgotten"
neat hotel this is a one of a kind place to stay. if your looking for something more than your run of the mill hotel this is it. from top to bottom it is a unique experience, it's like stepping out of the modern world into the 1800's. the staff where awesome and genuinly friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great old-timey hotel."
This is a quaint little hotel which reminded me of a bed and breakfast or an old time inn. It seems to be housed in an old renovated home in the downtown area. I only stayed one night and left early the next morning so I did not use many of the amenities. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, with coffee (of course), fruit, and bagels. There […] was also a variety of cereals available, as well as fruit juice. One drawback is the hardwood floors, which creak when someone walks by outside the room. The decor of the hotel reminded me of my grandmother's home when I was growing up, with antique-looking furniture and old pictures on the walls. There was even a tatted lace doily in the room. Overall it was a great place to stay and I would recommend it and would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It is a unique place if you enjoy antiques. Service was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everyone was very freindly. Service was great. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleased. No need to leave the hotel. Dinner was reasonably priced. "Close to Highway"
Just staying over night between destinations. Arrived late and found the hotel did not have information on us at desk. We were given the room held for another late arrival not yet there. I had all the confirmation documentation from the internet and that was helpful to secure the room. The accomodations were like a bed and breakfast. The room was more […] American Heritage and included fireplace and sunken tub. Didn't have time to enjoy but nice to see. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Lovely quaint hotel, only bad thing was the quality of their wifi. Could stand to be remodeled, but that was part of the charm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Imagine a B&B without the awkwardness"
Our experience far exceeded our expectations! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere in the hotel was calm and welcoming. We enjoyed the antiques throughout the hotel (they leave the doors of unoccupied rooms open so you can explore) and we appreciated the little details that made each room unique.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was extremely attentive. The atmosphere was lovely victorian and the food was very good. The only think I wish I had known in advance was the fact there was not elevator. Since we were on the third floor, it was a bit of a hike, particularly with luggage. Although, the staff was thoroughly prepared to carry or luggage for us. We love this little gem. When we don't have much time to get away, we anticipate coming back because this first experience was so enjoyable and wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It's a great place to stay if you are looking for something other than a big box chain hotel/motel. The staff-all of them-were great. I would recommend wi-fi, better cable, and perhaps more assistance getting settled in to the rooms. However, none of that should be considered a negative. Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend more comfortable pillows and using fitted sheets. Otherwise everything was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Poor first room"
No elevator. Putting senior citizens on 3 rd floor when hotel is not fully occupied is poor management. First room and second room were on third floor. First room didn't resemble the rooms shown on your site and tv totally didn't work well. I spoke to receptionist about the 3 rd flight issue and how the room didn't look at all like the posting on Hotels.com. […] They switched us to a much larger room on same level that was well decorated and much larger. This is the second time that I felt that the room assigned was below standard in a place of business after booking with you.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
