"Club MV at Isola2000"
Arrived at Nice Airport 10am hoping to transfer to Isola2000 by bus but must have viewed the wrong t/table as the next one wasn’t for another 6hrs! Lots of to-ing’n’fro-ing but got a hire car (thx to the exceptional lady at Citer). Nav-skills went AWOL & so didn’t arrive at Club MMV until 18:30, just before front desk closed at 19:00 (check what process […] is if arriving out of hours). The flat was in a reasonably clean & tidy state & was mix of newly refurb’d contemporary (kitchen and bathroom) & the tired looking (mainly the separate toilet). Two (inc. towel rad) of the four heaters didn’t work & despite attempts of the handyman, never did. In fairness, the place wasn’t cold but their absence was evident. The kitchen had just about everything..except a kettle. Despite promises from the front desk we never received one. Totally unacceptable! The bed and sofabed were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had the displeasure of sleeping on & none of us had a decent night sleep there–though this was more an issue of the flat vibe than the dire beds. Flat cleaned once but at the end of our stay(!) Never checked out the facilities so can’t comment on them. Club MMV is a short walk (around 10mins in boots) to Front Neige. Isola2000 is great small resort for families with lovely quiet runs. Unfortunately, I can’t give recommendation for Club MV. But can’t I dismiss it as bad. Go with your eyes open and you shouldn’t be disappointed. Just don’t take the room we had.... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ryanair like hidden charges - false ratings"
Chose hotel based on 2012 positive experience : willing to pay higher rate for facilities such as pool - new owners in 2013 : all facilities to be paid for extra - eg €14 per hour per adult person for pool facilities : for family of 2adults and 2children thus costing an extra € 40/day; that's almost a 50% increase on the cost of the stay file a week […] - a rip off ( website doesn't make it clear that it is a cost per hour and this was added since we booked) . Hotel staff could not offer a family or weekly rate and were not willing to follow up with hotel management. Linen and cleaning also now extra unlike 2012 when included. Hotel is not on slopes but went for it for facilities Especially pool after a hard days skiing. Would not recommend going forward. ( bath not cleaned and broken heater in room as well ) hotel is trading on old positive ratings - all 2013 ratings are low. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A disaster stay"
We arrived at the hotel to find the following problems: 1. No bedding until late evening 2. No curtains in bedroom 3. No working TV. 4. No bath plug 5. Dirty room that had no been sufficiently cleaned. 6. Dishwasher not plumbed in and tested 7. One half of sofa bed broken. .... While most of these problems were resolved it took until mid-week to get […] a satisfactory resolution. What compounded the problems is that the reception is only open from 09:00-11:00 and then opens again at 16:00 ( although there is an emergency number..). Unfortunately, we were not the only residence with issues and every day as soon as reception opened then was a large queue of unhappy residents complaining of similar issues. During the week the Jacuzzi was completely out of order. Even in the bar the espresso machine was out of order. The bar area is also only opened when staff are present and so if you need to use WiFi out of hours you have a sit outside the lounge in the small reception area - no wifi in rooms. The staff were clearly overwhelmed and did their best. I completely blame the owners of this establishment - it's disgraceful and we will never return to this hotel... It's a real shame because the hotel is quite modern and wouldn't need much care to make it a nice place to stay in Isola. Aside from this, Isola 2000 has greatly improved over the years and we had a brilliant skiing week. The snow was fantastic and if you want a great meal we highly recommend the Cow Club... "Good Ski Accommodation"
The location of the C2A is excellent with lovely views of the mountains and resort. We booked a ‘2 - room’ apartment, this was actually 1 room with a sliding door between the living-room and bedroom. When the sofa-bed in the living-room is converted to make 2 single beds there is no room to walk around and the only place to sit is at the small dining […] table. Travelling with two teenage children I would book the 4 - 6 persons room next time. The biggest disappointment with the accommodation was the fact that the swimming pool, hot tube and steam room were all closed during our stay. When you travel during February you don’t expect the facilities to be closed for repair! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very disappointed pool and spa not in operation!"
Very clean, recently refurbished apartment with everything you could possibly need, including a dishwasher and 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets (only draw back was we had to make beds on arrival). Couldn't fault the apartment at all and had excellent views of the slopes. Ideal location, although quite an incline to walk back up after a day skiing, but we used […] locker facilities nearer to the main station so we didn't have to carry skis and boots up the hill. Reception always extremely busy as only manned between certain hours. We booked this accommodation specifically as they have a pool and spa, however this was out of action for the whole time we were and there were a lot of upset families with children. On several occasions the lift was also out of action, including the last day when we had to carry our bags down from the 6th floor.

Ellers måtte vi have sovet i bilen. Just back from 6 nights at this resort. Very happy with accommodation. Apartment was clean and fairly well equipped. We were advised to take linen which we did as its costly otherwise, and we hired towels. We had fantastic views to the ski slopes. Bathrooms were particularly well equipped.

We rented two large flats and were very satisfied with the space in them, as well as the cookware at our disposal. Parking the car outside was no problem at all, and we can reach the 'mall' by foot to rent skis or have dinner there. Spent a nice time in Isola.

We arrived during the allocated time slot for checkin 1600-1900. and there was not not a queue for a change. We arrived in our room a grand apartment to find that the kettle had been boiled dry and the cooker only had 2 working rings. That said a replacement kettle was provided straight away and the cooker hob replaced the next day. The apartment was cleaner than I have experienced there before. The pool was working this time but you now have to pay, 14 euros for pool, Jacuzzi, and turkish bath or 9 euros for the pool and Jacuzzi only, That is each person. A bit disappointing when you already are paying over 150 euros a night. Parking is available under the building at 10 euros a night but worth it if the weather is bad. The apartment is modern but poorly finished and the occasional skirting board maybe loose. Lots of hot water and the location is away from the noisy main building of the resort.

I have read a number of reviews about this place and felt I should add my piece. First of all, the room was fine, very clean, well equipped from the point of view of dishwasher etc, unusual hob that requires a bit of care, bed reasonably comfortable, very warm which was a bonus. TV is all in French, well you would expect that. Bathroom great, nice tiles, shower terrific, not a long stroll to the pistes. But you must bring everything else with you, and I mean, apart from cutlery, plates coffee machine etc., everything else. There are extra pillows and I think, an extra duvet. Staff very helpful, limited English. Garage below for parking. Overall very pleasant and excellent value. I think some of the reports have been far too harsh. But really only suitable for two, plus possibly a couple of your worse enemies or kids. In summary, practice, comfortable, v warm and clean. And they'll do your laundry for you at a knock down price ( but not ironed!) I clicked the wrong bits re pool etc, don't know to be honest but judging by the screams coming from the pool area, pretty good fun! Only other point is it is a bit of a scrum trying to check in, but if you take your own sheets etc. check in is literally two minutes.

I would advise, if you're thinking of booking this apartment, to read the accounts of other TripAdvisor members, which we found invaluable, before staying at this apartment residence. They were all pretty accurate! As mentioned by previous reports, the apartment is nicely decorated with modern bathroom, separate wc. Plenty of hot water, so you could have a soothing bath after a vigorous day out! But the apartments come with literally nothing. Not even a loo roll. This is where reading the reports from other members really helped us prepare. (We even brought an old bathroom rug thing to use in the entrance way as a doormat, as a TripAdvisor reviewer had mentioned how easy it was to trudge slush through the apartment). However, there IS, unusually for a French apartment, a kettle. AND a good-quality hairdryer. All apartments look over the resort, with a beautiful view and have a good size balcony, but this comes with a downside - noise. Again, as other reviewers have mentioned, from 05.30 onwards, the sound of lorries and snow clearing tractors can be heard (loudly!) - and if snow has fallen - automatic detonators to deflect possible avalanches.... (To be fair, these can be heard all over the area, and, in all my 35 years of skiing, I have never heard so many, even in Isola where I have skied many times before - on this occasion it felt like being in the war torn Lebanon....!). This is most definitely the noisiest side of Isola (I have in previous years stayed in the Pas du Loup, Le Druos and Les Adrets, and there was none of this noise so early in the morning). The smallest apartment, the one we booked, can be got at a very reasonable price - but is really only suitable for 2 adults. You could have two children with you, but in this case, I would probably try to go for one of the larger apartments. However, for two, there is plenty of space - it is larger than most French ski apartments of this type. We found there were not really enough glasses or cups. There is a dishwasher which worked very well with our 3-1 tablets and an induction hob (nightmare to get the hang of; we could have done with some instructions) and a microwave. Take a decent can opener. I would also take a cheap bathmat (possibly 2; one for the doormat), as the floor in the bathroom is tiled and the rest of the flooring is laminate, which is very slippery when wet. The walk to and from the ski area (front de neige) should not be underestimated. However, the resort lockers are a hefty 60 euros/week - otherwise, perhaps ask ski hire shop if they'll at least keep your skis for you overnight. To access front de neige, walk down to the little roundabout, then continue walking down to the hotel Chastillon. From there, you can ski over to the drag lift opposite, which will take you up a little to the main centre of the resort. Coming back at the end of the day, you are better off "dismounting" at the main gondola/ski pass office, as it is a downhill walk from there, until you reach the little roundabout.... The apartment staff are very sweet and speak some English. Reception is shut through the middle of the day, and reopens at 4pm, and, as has been previously mentioned, it is a scrum half at opening times for check-in. No discernable queuing system..... which will get you in the right frame of mind for the ski lifts (though to be fair, there is very little queuing in general at Isola though). The pool/hammam had reopened during our stay, and looked really nice, but in the end, we didn't get a chance to use it. Overall, the apartment was of a high standard, very warm and it was clean. The bed was a little hard on my back. The supplied pillows and duvets were extremely comfortable, and also very clean. The duvets were very warm. (Single duvets, but double bed). The ski lockers were large enough for 4 pairs of skis+poles. Boots can go above, but imagine most people take them up to their room, as there are no boot warming devices in the ski locker room. There is a laundry service, where for 6 euros, they will take your laundry, and return it to you the next day all done. Overall, I would recommend these apartments, but get a good deal - and don't forget your earplugs!!
"Dissappointing on many levels !"
02/25/13 macSomerset somerset
My husband and I and our two daughters stayed in a two room apartment (which is not two bedrooms, but a living room with a sliding door separating the sofa bed in the living room from a double bed in a small area off. The layout of the room had not been thought out that well as there was easily enough room just inside the entrance door to make a seperate bedroom, instead this was left empty with a wardrobe and nothing else. The apartment was furnished well (compared to others we have stayed in in Isola) however, it was not cleaned on our arrival and there were several essentials missing, ie glasses, knives & forks, chairs ! These items were replaced quickly once we were able to notify reception (They only opened for a couple of hours a day) Our greatest dissappointment was the whole spa area (including pool, sauna & jacuzzi) was closed for the week we were there and this was the main reason I booked this hotel. No refund or apology was made and my children were really unimpressed. Also, the bar was only open periodically and not when it was listed to be. We were on the 6th floor, however, it was still incredibly noisy all night (from apres skiers !) and early in the morning (5am) from the snow clearers. These negative attributes turned what could be a great aparthotel into a very average experience, where I would not return in a hurry.
"Could be excellent!"

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the C2A Isola. On arrival it was total confusion. We were given our keys but told that our rooms had yet to be cleaned. We asked why but were simply told that they didn't have time although we had booked a year in advance, therefore we notified reception that we wouldn't be paying the cleaning fee. We were also notified that the pool would be closed for refurbishment which I found baffling as the hotel had been closed for most of the summer so why wait until peak season to carry out the repairs?? I wasn't too bothered about the pool as we were notified beforehand that a charge of €14 per person per use had been implemented by the hotel. We were also notified that linen and towels would be charged for but we simply refused to pay this as it wasn't mentioned when booked through Hotels.com. When we did enter our rooms our initial reaction was that the rooms were better than expected. It looked modern and had been cleaned by the previous guests to a good standard, however on further inspection we found knickers and socks under the double bed and insulin in the fridge which I'm glad my daughter didn't find. The shower door was also hanging off the cubicle and 2 of the electric rings weren't working but as I said it still much better than many of the accommodations we have stayed in French ski resorts. The reception area and bar were quite nice but as previous reviewers have commented you could never be sure when they would be open. The smell of smoke in the bar was quite off putting as the French interpretation of the smoking ban means just simply open a window. If you are staying on the bottom floors avoid the lifts when it snows. My wife and children got stuck for 30 minutes and when the maintenance guy was called he honestly turned up with a table spoon and gave up after 5 minutes. I notified the lady in reception but when I thought she was going for help she was simply taking her dog for a walk, luckily a passerby managed to get them out. PROS: good location, nice bar, modern rooms by French standards, excellent price, good ski locker area. CONS: hidden costs (refuse to pay, they didn't put up much of an argument), smoking in bar area, poor maintenance, friendly staff but poorly run. This hotel could be excellent by French standards but poor organisation lets it down. I fear it will be completely run down within a few years which is a shame.

Be aware that the reception is not open 9-5 and certainly not 24hrs a day, I could never quite get the hang of their opening hours, but it was something like a few hours in the morning and again in the evening. However, when they were open, the staff were extremely accommodating and let me briefly use the reception computer with internet (Internet is only available in the reception area, you can request the code). Realising that basics are not provided, we rang ahead to request that sufficient sheets and towels would be placed in our room. We still had to make the beds on arrival, but at least we did not have to trek back down to reception, which may or may not have been open to sort this out. We had also stopped at a supermarket en route, which turned out to be the best idea of the trip, since everything was closed on arrival as well as the following day - and you need to bring everything, from toilet paper to dishcloths! We had booked a '2-room' apartment and so were surprised on arrival to realise that this meant 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 living-room with a sofa-bed that converts to 2 singles - the reasonable price now made sense! Also, the divider between the bedroom and the living-room was a sliding door that was more like a cupboard door, and so not great if you want to watch TV in the living room while your children are going off to sleep. This door also refused to stay closed, and I ended up using a stool to keep it shut, though it meant getting up to replace the stool every time my children got up in the evening... This is something reception probably could've fixed for us, but as they were not often there I never got around to it. So the room was fine for our purposes, but may not suit everyone. The hallway area is very useful for removing boots etc to keep the main area clean. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, although there is no oven, only a microwave. The location of the residence is excellent, only a very short walk down a slight hill and up another slight hill to get to the ski lockers, pistes, shops, restaurants, etc. Even our tired children managed the walk after a morning of ski school! We were lucky with the weather and most days were sunny with decent snow coverage, as it mainly snowed through the night. We packed too many jumpers and kept getting too hot between the hill-walking, the skiing and lugging all the ski equipment about! We never actually made it to the spa, as the swimming pool didn't open until 4pm when the children were too tired. All in all, a great trip with pretty reasonable accommodation.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with bathroom & shower room. It was lovely, clean and warm. Just a few small things could have made it perfect: Hooks in the entrance area for coats; towels (which were included in our package) had to be collected from reception with proof that they were included; reception had limited opening even on sat/sun when loads of people were arriving/departing; cooker was micro/grill this makes self-catering for a family a challenge; the floors when wet were lethal, sofa really too small to fit 4 and my final comment but this seems to apply where ever we go - MORE coat hangers please! The spa had limited access so got very busy in the afternoons - but was good to have the option. The views from the apartment were lovely and the road as slightly away from the main resort was quiet but the walk not too far. Internet is free from the lounge area but this was not open in our block so we had to walk down the road. We used Skimium for ski hire (http://isola-2000.skimium.co.uk/) were we left all our stuff (incl our own boots) and collected the next morning - the staff were really friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at C2A in a 3 room room. We were 3 adults and 3 children and the room size was sufficient to accommodate us all. The beds are firm but comfortable. The sofa bed pulls out into 2 singles and is quite comfortable and roomy. You buy bedding packs which are all freshly laundered and clean. The towel packs contain both large and small towels and again are very clean. The bathrooms are modern and pleasant to use. As you come in there is a nice area for removing your boots etc. to keep the rest of the room clean. There is underfloor heating and when the temparature was -13 degrees outside it was incredibly warm but became more bearable as the temparature warmed up. There is a TV but no English channels. Also there is no kettle but the coffee perculator works just as well for boiling water. The swimming pool was a bit cool but the hot tub and steam room were fabulous after a hard days skiing. Even though there were small children in the next room we could not hear them in our room at all. The location is wonderfully quiet all together. The only thing missing from the room was a mop and bucket to clean up the inevitable dirty snowmelt from boots as you come in. Overall this is a good location - not far from the resort centre and easily within walking distance, though up a slight hill. If you want a pleasant, modern, clean, convenient place to stay in Isola then C2A was almost perfect. The resort of Isola 2000 is very family orientated with most bars etc closing at 11pm but the public toilets are locked at 6.20. The Cow Club Restaurant serves its steaks with the most fabulous mashed potato and is well worth a visit. During the day Le Rendezvous has a very sunny terrace for meeting and sitting in the sun and is convenient for the centre of the resort with friendly staff and waiters. The ski instructors hillipe ans Sabastien from ESF were kind an patient. Overall for a group of 18 people, some novice and some very experienced, both skiiers and boarders, and from 18 months to 46 years old, the whole holiday was very relaxed and felt very safe and I couldn't recommend both the resort and accommodation highly enough.
