Very comfortable hotel, luxurious rooms, wonderfully kitsch lobby with late-night crooner, and among the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel. Hotel is set in parkland with nothing much else around, however just a few stops by tram from the centre of town.

This is our 2nd stay here. they give a free tram pass which makes it very easy to get into town to see all of Documenta. We got a free coffee pot, free apples and the desk spoke perfect English. Only problem was cost of WIFI (9 euros for 5 hours) and high cost of breakfast buffet. There are many places by the hotel to get cheap breakfasts and sundries. With window open, the near by trams can be a bit noisy but otherwise the hotel is quiet for sleeping.

Everything about the stay was fine, except one caveat. Having booked the hotel through a booking site more than 2 months before, our preferences (non-smoking, room to the back obviously have not been noticed). I was able to sort it out with the front desk, but still this is something that should not happen. In most hotels you are greeted and at least the receptionist mentions your preferences and if they could comply. Apart from that, great location, close to the park and a short tram ride to the city.

Great location for visiting the Dambusters site. The rooms are lovely and the village is very nice. The service was not the best as breakfast was supposed to start at 7am but was more like 0745 so if you have an early start then don't bother paying for breakfast. Be wary of the city tax. This was applied to our booking twice. The rooms do not have tea […] and coffee making facilities and we found this in most of the hotels we stayed in in Germany so if you are keen for a brew then take a kettle with you. There seemed to be lots of other nice hotels in the area and i imagine we paid a premium for staying in the castle which you can visit even if you are not a resident. Read more

I was surprised by a continous noise in my room of a motor or a machine that was working all the time and when asked to change the room the noise was in the new room they proposed. But the view is fantastic and the food was very good and the location is very close to the sight reeing area

Et super dejligt ophold i de skønneste omgivelser. Rent og pænt overalt, og en dejlig morgenbuffet, man kan nyde med den flotteste udsigt ud over Edeersøen. Servicen var helt i top.

Mit dem verbrachten Wochenende haben wir uns einen lang gehegten Wunsch erfüllt. Der Edersee gehörte schon immer zu den Anlaufpunkten bei Ausflügen, Schloss Waldeck war ein Teil davon. "Einmal dort im Hotel übernachten", und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht !! Wir haben uns zwei Tage trotz widrigem Wetter sehr wohl gefühlt, die Sauna und Wellnessabteilung […] genutzt. Die Zimmer, das Restaurant und alles "Drumherum" ist wunderschön und absolut empfehlenswert. Allein der Blick beim Frühstück und Essen auf den See und weit ins Land ist sensationell. Das Personal ist zuvorkommend, besorgt und super freundlich ... für uns hat alles gestimmt !! Dies war bestimmt nicht unser letztes Wochenende auf Schloss Waldeck. Read more
