Islamnagar (11 Km)
From the hilltop palace complex of Dost Mohammed, visitors can see the Chaman Mahal and the two-storied Rani Mahal.

Bhojpur (28 km)
The enormous 11th century Shiva temple built during the reign of Raja Bhoja is incomplete, but still well worth a visit for its unusual design features and the massive 2.3 m high lingam.

Bhimbetka (40 Km)
As one of the world's largest collections of painted pre-historic Stone Age rock shelters and cave paintings dating back to 10,000 BC, it is rather awe-inspiring.

Sanchi Stupa (46 Km) and the Vidisha caves (55 Km)
The world famous Sanchi Stupa and the Vidisha caves can be seen on a half-day trip from the hotel.Sanchi, renowned and venerated as the site of the oldest Buddhist Stupa in the world, also has Buddhist temples, monasteries and pillars dating from the 3rd century BC to 12 the century AD. The profound peace pervading the area is as much of a draw as everything there is to see there.

Sanchi
46 Kms from Bhopal, the tranquil hill of Sanchi contains one of India's best preserved and most extensive Buddhist sights. From the 3rd Century BC to the 12th Century AD, this was a thriving Buddhist establishment of Stupas and monasteries.

Bhimbethka Caves
45 Kms from Bhopal. The Upper Palaeolithic period rocks paintings still adore the walls of the caves.

Bhojpur
28 Kms from Bhopal city. Founded in the 11th Century by Parmara King, who also established Bhopal, Bhojpur is dominated by the monumental though incomplete, Bhojeshwar Temple. Impressive sculptures cover parts of its unfinished corbelled ceiling and its entrance doorway.

Ujjain
188 Kms. On the banks of Shipra river, Ujjain is one of India's seven scared cities and one of the four sights of Kumbh Mela. In the 4-5th Centuries it was the second capital of the Gupta Empire with celebrated Sanskrit poet Kalidasa as one of its leading lights. Its glory was however eclipsed in the 13th Century after it was sacked by the Delhi Sultans. Indore- 187 Kms. The busting commercial center of Madhya Pradesh, Indore was a princely estate untill 1947 ruled by the Marath Holkar Dynasty.
