"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.

"good value, good staff"
Great view from the 36th floor, including the Empire State Bldg. The room had everything we needed and was clean; looked like the website photo. We arrived at 4 am and had no problems checking in. We tended to be out late at night, so we interacted most with the overnight staff who were helpful and fun. Didn't have any worries about walking the neighborhood […] at night. Close to buses, subway, Amtrak and easy walk to Times Square. We hated to leave! Read more
"Central location: bad for good food"
The hotel is great- I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Staff is friendly and professional. Just don't go strolling around for a quaint restaurant- nothing but chain food up there.....
Great place and location for the price!

"Really great place for business travelers"
Loved the room, loved the free internet, loved the happy hour. Extremely helpful staff. Walking distance to Times Square.
"Excellent hotel for business or leisure"
It was an excellent experience. The registration desk is small and the lobby is somewhat frayed. However, the room was large and excellently maintained. The view of the city was stunning. The roof top deck is great. The breakfast was good, as was the wine hour.

"In the heart of New York City"
I enjoyed every minute of my stay at The Element Hotel. The staff is super-terrific! The room was lovely and the view was spectacular! Breakfast was included and they served complimentary beer and wine in the early evening from Monday to Thursday. Great value for the price!

"Wicked - Excellent Place!, Amazing staff"
I never write reviews - I just vote with my feet and never go back, but its not often you find a hotel with such great people-check in service staff - you guys rock. I was literally waiting for someone to screw something up but really nothing happened. Dont get me started on the room - perfect size not overdone and impeccably clean - I have found my […] NYC place, close to Times Square, Penn station etc - very nice place - thank you . Got the breakfast included rate - did not expect hot sandwiches, Kashi Cereals, toasted bagels the works included. Great stay - Keep it up. (If I may be greedy though - the coffee was a little weak- but there was a Starbucks on the corner so I was good. Ill be back! Read more
"Elementary"
This spot in Times Square (close to the E line and 8th Ave) is a great hub to start exploring Manhattan. Hotel is very clean and service is very good!
"Element Hotel"
I can't say enough good things about this hotel ! The room was perfect. Big bathroom, extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The room had a desk and as a huge bonus a kitchenette! As for the staff...they were beyond friendly. They provided 5* service from a toothbrush to getting a taxi !! Would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is only a […] couple of blocks from Times Square in the Fashion/Garment District. Read more
"Element Hotel: Close to the action and a HUGE room"
HUGE* by NYC standards. This hotel is a block from the subway and was a fantastic value given the size, amenities (including fully stocked kitchenette) and feel. We had a great view on the 36th floor. The only real drawback is the wait for the elevator. The elevators move fast, but leave yourself extra time around checkout and breakfast times. We loved […] our stay and this'll be the first place we look to re-book on future stays. We've stayed in NYC before--with very good luck--but this place absolutely beat expectations Read more
"The Eclipse, NYC, perfect for Spring Break"
I took my son and grandchildren to NYC for Spring Break. Our stay at The Element was perfect for us. From the comfortable beds to the friendly, helpful employees our four nights here were great. We enjoyed the full kitchen in our rooms. The location was convenient to many attractions. Breakfast was filling(nothing fancy) but a good start for busy days. […] I would definitely return. Such a wonderful experience. We were able to check in at 6:58 am and all of the hotel staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. The room was exactly what we were hoping for. The concierge was very helpful in arranging dinner reservations for us. The wine and beer reception was a very nice touch. We will definitely be staying here again the next time […] we come to the city! Read more
"Element Hotel"
Fuggidabout rude New Yorkers - none of them work at this hotel. The service staff was wonderful - kind, helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and very efficiently laid out. We loved the gleaming white bedding and the two head shower. We would stay here again! And included breakfast and wifi: a great bargain.

"Perfect choice for NYC"
Great, clean, comfortable hotel! This fairly new hotel was a welcome retreat after sightseeing each day. The rooms were very nice and clean and included a kitchenette. It's within 3 blocks of Times Sq and a block from the Subway. We will definitely stay here again when we return!
"need to do something about the elevators."
with 40 floors you need more then 3 elevators . also the elevators are shared with the housekeeping and maintenance staff which put you down to 2 elevators for the guest.i waited a long time most of the time for the elevators...which is unexceptable. if i wasn't 24 floors up i would of taken the stairs....this issue needs to be addressed...everything […] else was great Read more
"Great amenities, location and staff!"
I stayed at this hotel for business so the proximity to Times Square wasn't a factor for me, but it is just around the corner making it convenient for tourists. The staff was very warm and helpful, and helped to enrich the stay. The free wi-fi, breakfast and receptions during the evening were also an unexpected surprise, which saved me both time and […] money on extra services, dining, etc. The rooms were clean and comfortable with zero reports or evidence of bed bugs (which is a huge concern for me). I'll definitely be staying here again! Read more
"Don't Stay Here!!"
I am a frequent traveler and have used Hotels.com in the past, but this hotel was a bad experience from beginning to end. First, there was a 10 minute wait just to get to my hotel room, then no hot water, and when I woke up in the morning, a huge rash on my back and arms. When I went to speak to staff they kept passing me off to another person, it was […] always someone Else's responsibility, but apparently no one is in charge there. Then I get home to find out they charged my credit card over and over again - 3x as of today. Read more

"PUT MUSIC IN YOUR ROOMS & FIX KEY CARD DOOR ENTRY"
I was very disappointed that there was no music in my guest room. There was an audio port that could be used to hook up an IPOD to the AV system that ran to the TV; however, I was told that the hotel does not supply the audio cable that would have allowed me to hook up my IPOD and play music. I also was extremely aggravated that the card key door locks […] did not work properly. Instead of agreeing that the locks needed to be fixed, the 3 different staff persons who I spoke with on 3 different occasions gave me the same "canned" response to the effect that the key cards are very sensitive. After having them replace the key card, I went directly to the room (without putting key anywhere near cell phone or credit cards) and each time it would take me about 5 minutes to get the key to work to open the door!!! These shortcomings significantly diminished my enjoyment of this otherwise nice hotel. Read more
"Element NY Times Square West"
It has been a long time since we have stayed at a hotel that was as friendly and helpful as the Element NY Times Square! Also the location was great.
"Great Room"
I stayed in the King studio and thought it was a great room. Good view, clean, nice little kitchen, confortable bed and nice bathroom. Only gripe is that they take 50 dollars out of your account and it takes 10 business days for them to put it back in..
"Good hotel, some problems"
The rooms are comfy and well laid out. It's great to have a full sized fridge. They are nice and clean and new. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in better condition than a lot of places that I have stayed at in NYC. The location is great - you can walk to pretty much everything in mid-town. However, I probably won't stay […] here again. I found the hotel too crowded. There are only 3 small elevators (about the size of your average wheelchair accessible toilet) for a 40 floor hotel that probably has about 400 rooms. So that means waiting about 5 minutes just for an elevator to arrive, and when it does, it's either full when it gets there or it is by the time you get off. You also get to stop at every single floor on the way up or down regardless of the time of day. The breakfast downstairs is great, but it's like a feeding frenzy, nowhere to sit, anxious pushy people breathing over your toast apparently in fear that the food will run out! ALWAYS a line at the front desk. So... it was basically like a *really* nice hostel in a lot of ways. I was also disappointed that they used disposable plates/ plastic cutlery etc for the breaksfast, as one of the selling points for me was the hotel's "environmental focus". I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel whilst they were having a major plumbing/water crisis. No hot water the first day, no water at all the second day. Which meant no shower for 2 days. So a bit of a disaster, but not at all the hotel's fault. They did a great job in a terrible situation. They also compensated me fairly for the inconvenience. The only criticism I have for how they handled this situation is that they could have done a better job in communicating what the problem was, when it was going to be fixed, etc. Read more
"Awesome place near Times Square"
Super Modern Hotel near Times Square and Broadway. Every single staff person was very very welcoming. Always with a smile. "This hotel was a wonderful surprise"
We LOVED our room. It was small but it was decorated so nicely. The shower was great, the towels were wonderful, the bed was comfortable. It had a terrific gym in the lower level and a warm breakfast was included. It was a great stay.

"Go Green!"
We loved this hotel especially all of the green environmentally friendly details. As design professionals in architecture my husband and I enjoyed seeing and reading about the sustainable materials and fixtures used on the building. We will definitely stay there again ... View from our 32 floor room was great too.
"Good choice"
Finding a good hotel for a reasonable rate is hard. This has a kitchenette with a microwave and plates, etc. Very nice touch as I like to bring food in with me sometimes. WiFi worked well and the street noise was minimal. Room was clean and neat.

"The Element Hotel in NY near Times Square"
Te Element has very hip, chic interiors. The rooms are typical New York sized rooms but full of new and sight pleasing amenities. The halls could use a bit more care but the lobby is nice. Did not go to hotel happy hour but it is offered each evening. I will stay here again.
"Great Hotel"
One of the best hotels in the area. Staff is very friendly
"Element Times Square"
Beautiful hotel. So convienent and accessible. Would definitely stay there again.
"Element Hotel - Great!"
I stayed here during a work trip and was absolutely pleased with everything. I had heard about the size of hotel rooms in NYC and was not expecting very many accommodations. When I arrived at my hotel, the front desk staff was very nice and offered to help me find somewhere to eat (since it was already 11pm and I just arrived off a 5-hour flight). When […] I went up to my room, I was very happy to find that while it was smaller than what I am used to, everything fit so well in a way that it didn't feel small at all. I had a small kitchenette, a desk and even a couch in addition to my king-sized Heavenly bed. The hotel was in walking distance to not only my job's office off Fashion Ave, but very close to Times Square and lots of surrounding businesses. The cocktail hour was great too, free appetizers and beer/wine! I had a couple of friends staying at the Renaissance hotel a block away and when they saw my hotel room, they were floored with how nice, how much bigger, and how much cheaper my room was than theirs! The only negative thing I have to say is that when trying to go downstairs to check out, I waited about 10-15 min until there was an elevator that could accommodate myself and my luggage. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to NY, it was great! Read more
