Vacation Villas at Bluebeards Castle - St. Thomas

Great location & very clean. We only have 2 complaints--- Staff never answered phone when trying to call for towels and called to report we had no hot water in shower. We had to walk in office to tell them both times. We had hot water in kitchen but not bathroom??? Never did get fixed.

Great location. Close to the port, shopping, grocery store, and restaraunts. Hotel very clean. Staff very helpful and nice. Mini fridge and kitchen in room. Hotel is on a steep, STEEP hill that IS walking distance but a pain to go back up it! 3 places to eat on site. 2 are really expensive. We ate at the Cabana bar the entire stay. Tried to go to different […] places but the food was so good we kept going back. Simple menu, cheap prices but very, very good! Took cabs everywhere (because the whole island is hills and steep slopes you have no choice) but were $4 bucks each person unless you are going to the other side of the island which then it's $10 bucks per person. I almost didn't book this place because a review said it was on a hill and you couldn't walk, however I realized that you probably can't walk anywhere on the entire island because of the hills and narrow roads. Great pool! Ate breakfast at the pool bar. Good reasonable priced dishes for breakfast and tasted very good. They used fresh herbs and veggies. Had an overall experience. Read more

I have stayed at Bluebeard before, but not in this current suite. Would prefer staying at the Hilltop Villas I or II at Bluebeards instead of Vacation Villas, have to make sure I check the correct one next time.

Stayed for two nights after a week on St John. Nice resort with an excellent staff. I stayed in an end room and my only complaint was that they had a garbage dumpster (large one) on the road that passes right in front of the balconies. I also could see a "shack" from the balcony which was on the property.It is not a fancy room (others at the resort […] are nicer but more expensive) but was very clean and had everything we needed. The hotel was great! The bar at the pool was the best. Try the grilled fish sandwich & drink anything made with Cruzan Rum while you enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay & mountain view. I enjoyed it very much . We stayed in the studio apptmnt with the view on the harbor. the view was breathtaking!. The balcony was very spacious and clean . the kitchen was small and outdated , but we didnt cook, bathroom wasnt inpressive , but the view did it all! When comparing hotels you will find the price is excellent! They tell you at check in that if you want towels our your room service to call the number(which they wrote on my key card slip). The hotel sits upon a hill with 2 very different and beautiful views of the bays on each side of the property. It is close to Kmart, Wendys, Senor Frogs, Several […] local Taverns/Rest, and the shopping district(Tommy Hilfiger, etc). The grounds are well kept and we enjoyed lunch one day with a frozen daiquiri at the pool side bar. There are 3 restaurants to choose from and we ate at 2/3. The third was "fine dinning" with dress attire required. The service at first was not pleasant, but I quickly learned the front desk was dealing with an issue. As soon as that was resolved the customer service improved. I did not find St Thomas to be very customer service friendly anyhow. There is a concierge in the lobby to help plan day trips or recommend local attractions. I did not have time to use there service. There is also a computer in the lobby with internet access and ask that you limit your turn to 15min at a time. For wi-fi in your room you'll pay more than six dollars for a 24hr pass. Other pass options are available at a higher price. The wi-fi unfortunately would not work on the balcony. The wi-fi is provided through another company so if you have problems you'd have to deal with the company and not Bluebeards. I found there to be pleanty of parking available and would definitely stay here again! I spent several mornings on the balcony drinking my coffee and watching the cruise lines arriving and departing. This hotel has many owner time-share units so the majority of rooms booked online do not have the premium views you see in the pictures although the place is on a small mountain so you will have some view from any balcony. Plan on renting a car as the walk back up the hill from the grocery store is grueling and takes about an hour round trip. No maid […] service at all due to the time share occupancy. You can request towel service through the front desk. The pool was nice with an excellent view and the staff was friendly. I don't have many complaints for the price we paid but no matter how great of a price paid, I still would expect the floor to be clean and the cabinets not to have grease and food spots on them. The bed was mushy but sheets were clean. The view was outstanding.

You need a car to get around extreme steep hills on property. Walking to the shops is quite exhausting. If you have a car the hotel is being renovated and should be finished soon.
