The Risata was close to the airport and close enough to get to Kuta but there weren't enough restaurants or shops in the immediate area. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the gardens were amazing. We paid for a deluxe room but it was far from that, while comfortable the rooms are very tired and in need of updating. The service was really good, hotel room was very clean and tidy. All staff were very friendly and had no issues at all and value for what we paid was excellent. Hotel in good location away from the busy market place but still a 5 minute drive from main markets by taxi. Restaraunt - daily breakfast was excellent! It's not the most modern hotel but the Risata certainly provides all that could be wanted for a comfortable stay. This property - even where slightly faded - maintains a traditional elegance and has a lovely pool area, a good restaurant and bar and beautiful gardens. While all may not be brand new what is on offer is lovingly cared for and well presented […] by staff who really do go the extra mile to be pleasant and helpful. Another big draw card at the Risata is the lush garden that surrounds the bungalows - each of which houses approximately 4 separate apartments. The trees also provide welcome shade over some of the pool area. There are some great extras you would normally associate with a premium resort - a small library of books and magazines to read while you sunbathe, a great little pizzeria, a chess set, nintendo & DVD hire, dart boards and a carp pond. A hint to the incoming guest - some rooms are currently undergoing upgrade and may be preferable to the older suites on offer. Upon our arrival we were initially shown to a deluxe suite showing a fair amount of wear and tear however upon asking staff if anything could be done we were offered a suite that was in much better shape. We had a lovely relaxing stay at the Risata and can recommend it for the easygoing traveller who values comfy surrounds, good value for money and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Read more

Its unfortunate because seemed lovely but the hotel itself was quite flawed. Rooms were simple as I expected but other small things made the stay very disappointing. The water used in the bathroom had a smell to it almost like bore water and after showering left the room with a dreadful stench. The hotel beverage and food menu were ridiculously priced. […] For example to sit at the pool bar and have a beer would cost you around AU$5 were if you just walked over the road and bought beer from the shop it would set you back AU$1.5 each. And likewise with the food walking down the beach or down the street could find you many cheaper dining options. Hotel was nice, water in rooms was a bit off. Was cheaper (exactly half the price) to go across the road buy bintangs then pay the corkage fee at the bar then buy there. Hotel was cheap but there food, drunks and spa was all very over priced.

We arrived late in the evening and the service was excellent. Room was clean and very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, with great ambience. Personnel agréable. Chambre pratique et agréable. Services et équipement de l'hôtel sont complets à mon goût. Travaux en cours dommage car quelques nuisances sonores surtout quand on est au spa. Proximité de la plage sur la carte mais cette plage est impossible à la baignade, pas du tout propre. La plage la plus proche accueillante est à environ 20 […] min de marche. Et hotell med et veldig fint ytre, men vi ble skuffet da vi endte opp på et rom med et veldig slitent bad og ingen balkong/terrasse. De skriver på sin egen hjemmeside: Each room features modern home comforts together with a private balcony or terrace that embraces the natural greenery of the outdoors. Vi fikk beskjed om at det var fullt på alle disse […] rommene, og fikk derfor ikke byttet rom. Frokosten er veldig god og utvalget stort! MAten i restauranten er også veldig god :) Servicen hos de som jobber i restauranten og i renhold er på topp. De som sitter i resepsjonen/lobbyen er ikke like serviceminded dessverre. A lot of construction going on at this hotel in may 2011 so a lot of noise and scaffolding and construction-workers around. The location of the hotel is nice, a 20/25-min. walk south of the centre of Kuta. Pool is nice too, with poolbar. Very commercial ofcourse, like everything in Kuta; you pay for every little thing, wi-fi included.
