I made a reservation that stated that the room had a king and queen size bed. When we arrived we discovered that we had a small room with only a queen size bed.

Room did not have enough chairs. It had one and it would have fit 2 nicely. It did come with fridge and microwave. They should have outside chairs so we could not sit outside. They have no screens in the windows. It does have AC and Heat. These are cabins and I could not understand why they did not have screens. People were very nice. The Lodges at Gettysburg are an excellent choice if you don't mind being a few miles out of town. The setting is beautiful. The cabins are large and comfortable. The view from the highest point in Gettysburg is gorgeous.

The Lodges' location is somewhat off the beaten track, but the service, condition of the hotel, and the price more than make up for he location. The bed was very comfortable, although I missed having a bath tub (there was a shower only). Also going to dinner means a 10 to 15 minute drive, and it does indeed get dark in the countryside. It would have been very nice to have more than a ten minute hot shower! That's all you get so be prepared for a very short shower! Other than that the only other problem i can say is that the walls are way to thin, you can hear everything that your neighbor is doing ( and i mean everything).

The staff at this hotel need a lesson in customer service, which is an absolute shame because it's a beautiful location. The front desk staff are not very knowledgeable, nor are they very friendly. The cabins/rooms are very cozy, but the walls are very, very thin. We could hear our neighbors watching TV all night. Another drawback for us was the distance […] from the heart of downtown/battlefields. If you want a beautiful setting and can put up with a sub-par customer experience, it's not a bad place to stay. Also, they advertise a spa onsite, but that isn't 100% true. We called to schedule an appointment and when we showed up for massages, we were told by the inexperienced girl at the front desk that she made a mistake on the time (since they sub-contract with a spa in town) and that we would have to reschedule, which wasn't possible for us. She never called us to notify us and wasn't very apologetic about it. The manager did make things right (after making many excuses) by comping us on a night of our stay. Read more

I upgraded from the corporal's quarters to one of the lodges and it was extremely comfortable, clean and well maintained. The view as you are leaving the lodge is quite lovely. They could do a better job with the grounds/landscaping, but other than that I was very impressed!

Nice place to stay. Reasonably priced and close to town. Only downside was the walls dividing the rooms were not very good at sound deadening. You could here people in the adjoining rooms way too well. Other than that, I would recommend this place to everyone.

The stay was nice, but the room was very small. when we made the reservation it was not apparent we were getting a small room and not the cabin with all the things listed on the reservation. no kitchenette, not balcony, no sitting area. we got a room with a bed, chair and tv. We stayed at the Lodges for a week and overall had a great experience there. We originally were in a one-room hotel, but decided to upgrade to a lodge. We would recommend the lodge portion because you are able to stay in your own private cottage. The cottage included a kitchenette, which was nice so we were able to have some smaller meals in the room. […] The lodges are in a very natural setting, so we saw all sorts of critters, including deer, rabbits and squirrels. The rooms could be cleaned a little better, in terms of spider webs. But, I really enjoyed their "green" initiative where we could have our towels and sheets changed whenever we wanted, but could also not if we wanted for a day or two. I wish the continental breakfast included more warm foods, like waffles. It included bagels, croissants, muffins, cereal, fruit and juices. The staff were all friendly and helpful when we asked specific questions regarding the Gettysburg area. We weren't able to venture out into their 60+ acres, but hope to do that the next time we come into the area. We'll definitely stay here again! Read more

The cabin that we stayed in was great. The room was very spacious and very clean. I loved that there wasn't an air conditioner stuck in the wall making noise all night, the air conditioning was the same as it would be in a home, air coming up from vents in the floor. The staff was always helpful and very nice. My husband and I got breakfast every morning […] in the lodge and often took it out to the chairs provided outside that overlook the beautiful mountains (you can see Big Round Top from this area). It is very quite and peaceful here. The cabins are a short distance from Gettysburg, about 3 miles, a very easy drive. If staying here the only recommendation I would make is to have plenty of snacks with you as there aren't any available on-site, there are water and pop machines. The lodges were nice, but we were not informed that the Corporal Quarters are actually attached to the side of other lodges. This caused us (my husband and me) to share a hot water heater with FOUR other people next door. Our showers were limited to about five minutes before running out of hot water. The walls were also very thin. The only other complaint […] is that our thermostat did not work. Our room stayed about 60 degrees the entire time. We would come back from town and have to leave the door open because it was so cold. As for the cleanliness, we returned every day to a fresh, clean lodge. Very nice. We travel a lot and look for places that offer something different from typical hotels. The Lodges at Gettysburg fit the bill and we had hoped to find a gem. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The walls are very thin so noise travels easily from the connecting room, we could have join into the other couple's conversation because there doesn't seem […] to be any insulation between the connecting wall. We didn't have phone service while we stayed in our room, which I found out by accident when my daughter called the hotel and they transferred her to our room it never rang because there was no dial tone, Even after reporting the problem to the evening caretaker, there was no apology or follow-up. Housekeeping did not replace our used towels, used glasses, or used coffee cups and I was told that they assumed we would reuse them. I thought the amount paid should have at least covered clean coffee and water glasses for the following day. Also, the same crew assumed we were done reading our newspaper which was left on the dresser (not in the recycled bin) and threw that out. We had booked three nights at this Lodge through Hotels.com. We were so unhappy there we left after two nights. Gettysburg is a wonderful town with a lot of lodging options......skip this one and stay where your business is appreciated. Read more

THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. THE HOTEL IS ABOUT 4 MILES FROM DOWNTOWN GETTYSBURG DINING SO IS A LITTLE INCONVENIENT IN THAT RESPECT BUT THE FRESH FRUIT, PASTRIES, BAGELS AND CEREAL/JUICE/YOGURT/COFFEE IN THE MORNING MAKE UP FOR IT. VERY QUIET LOCATION SET BACK FROM A LITTLE USED ROAD.

The view was spectacular. The staff bent over backwards to ensure that our stay was all that we wanted it to be, starting with delicious chocolate cupcakes at check-in. There was a problem with the air conditioning system in our unit. The on-site maintenance man was there within 5 minutes of notifying the front desk. When the unit couldn't be fixed […] we were quickly moved to a new unit with no disruption to our vacation. The follow up to ensure our satisfaction was superb! Everyone we dealt with during our stay was friendly, outgoing, and conscientious. I would recommend the Lodges to couples wanting to get away from the excitement of a tourist area and to families wanting more space than a hotel room.
