"Good Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel and staff are great, the only problem is the way the rooms are set up. The chairs are on the same side of the room that the TV is on. The only way to watch TV is to sit on the bed which is very unconfortable. There should be at least one chair that one can sit on to watch TV.

"Cose to our sights in Gettysburg."
We stayed in a cabin which was nice. The only problem I had is that you could really hear what was going on in the other part of the cabin that was rented by someone else.

"quiet country lodge"
THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. THE HOTEL IS ABOUT 4 MILES FROM DOWNTOWN GETTYSBURG DINING SO IS A LITTLE INCONVENIENT IN THAT RESPECT BUT THE FRESH FRUIT, PASTRIES, BAGELS AND CEREAL/JUICE/YOGURT/COFFEE IN THE MORNING MAKE UP FOR IT. VERY QUIET LOCATION SET BACK FROM A LITTLE USED ROAD.

Very accommodating. We needed to leave a car for a few days and it was not an issue for them. We were very grateful.
"Great spot"
It was lovely! The staff was very accommodating when I needed to amend my reservation for a bigger room upon arrival. The rooms were clean, comfy and nicely furnished. The grounds were quiet and pleasant. It was a few miles way from downtown Gettysburg but it was ice to be in a quiet and restful space (the downtown hotels can be noisy with traffic, […] people, etc) Read more
"different approach to hoteling"
I was pleased but felt the "Lodge" was lacking in providing a place to put your stuf in the bathroom and should have had a night stand next to the opposite side of the bed (only had one night stand. Lodge also should have had another strategically situated chair so bother my wife and I could sit rather than having to sit on the bed.
"A fantastic place!"
It was a great place, very high end finishes. A great room!
"Great place to stay"
This is a great place in a gorgeous location in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania overlooking Gettysburg. You do have to drive into town, but you can't beat the views here and the accommodations. These are separate lodges and they are roomy and luxurious. We loved them and so did our son.
"Gettysburg"
The Lodges at Gettysburg were wonderful! They are a little farther out of town, but absolutely on gorgeous property. We had our family of five and stayed in the Presidential. It's a beautiful single cabin, very well maintained and appointed. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
"Lodges at Gettysburg--right on the battle field"
Lodges at Gettysburg is the ideal spot to stay when visiting historic Gettysburg. The location affords you the opportunity to see beautiful landscapes as well as a covered bridge--all within 5 minutes from downtown. The staff is exceptional! You will enjoy the private cabins and peaceful surroundings. I would highly recommend Lodges at Gettysburg […] ! Read more
"Lodges at Gettysburg a must-bucolic, serene."
My family stayed there 2 nights this past week. It will go down as one of our favorites. It added to the entire Gettysburg experience-the property overlooks beautiful fields and has a lake. The cabins are rustic but beautiful, comfortable and cozy. We felt very relaxed there. We actually extended our stay by a day. This is a hidden gem.
"Awesome View of Mountains"
This place is a well kept secret. Very nice room and well kept. Will stay here again.

If you are looking for a place to unwind, this is the place for you! Surrounded by nature, The Lodges is the perfect escape from the hurriedness of life. Yet, it's only minutes from downtown and all of the attractions. The bed was firm and the cabin was very nicely appointed. I can't speak highly enough about the staff (Steve, Melissa, and mommy-to […] be)and masseuses (Kate and Bridget) - their attention put the crowning touch on our stay!!!!!!!! WE WILL BE BACK. "Cottage feel, modern style.."
Lovely beams in the rooms, unique 'cottage' feel but with modern and new furniture. Only 'minor issue' was it had a shower - not a tub. I liked how the rooms were actually 'chalets' spread out over the field.
"The Lodge at Gettysburg"
This is out of town, and very quiet! It was a lovely setting and the staff was very nice. We totally enjoyed our stay.
"Beautiful Country Location Close to Gettysburg"
Really enjoyed the rural feel of this place. We were there for three nights, a few days before christmas and mostly had the place to ourselves. We saw other reviewers mentioned that the breakfast wasn't great, but it seems they have improved it. Nothing spectacular, but a solid continental breakfast.
"Outside of town of Gettysburg, but very nice!"
Although the Lodges are outside of town, it was still not a bad ride to get there. Lovely view and this was in late Fall. Very helpful staff and accomodating for our late arrival. Only complaint was that a shelf in the bathroom would be nice for toiletries as the vanity was too tiny and don't like to leave our things on the back of the toilet. Room […] was spacious enough. Nice to have a refrigerator and large coffeemaker. Continental breakfast was included with the room which is nice since there is nothing really close by to grab a bite to eat. Read more
"Lodges at Gettysburg Out of this World!"
Wish I had the time to stay longer than one night. These Lodges were incredible. Just about an 8 minute ride into town, nice and quiet but beyond beautiful. Breakfast needs some work as there is not much there beside mini-muffins and cereal. Would definitely stay here again.

"Lodges @ Gettysburg"
Great place to stay. Furnished and decorated with top of the line. Very clean and it was nice having our own little place. Very convenient to access Emmitsburg or Gettysburg areas...right in between....would highly recommend

"Beautiful Place, Terrible Service"
The hotel grounds are beautiful and peaceful, the room we stayed in looked nice and comfortable. Unfortunately at 10pm when our neighbors decided to show up we realized the walls are paper thin. They stomp around for hours and talk very loudly, keeping us from sleeping. When we woke in the morning there was no hot water and it is 32 degrees outside, […] when we asked the office they told us they knew about the problem but they could not offer a solution. I was also disappointed that all they had for their "continental breakfast" was bagels and a toaster. Needless to say, we will never stay there again, nor would we recommend it to anyone. Read more
"our one night stay at the lodges"
My boyfriend and i went to Gettysburg. We stayed at th gettysburg lodges. First of all...let me say the lodge itself was BEAUTIFUL . It was in a very peaceful rustic setting...very quiet and beautiful view. The only problem we had was FINDING IT. The road sign was missing, for gettysburg rd. We drove around a long time, ask directions, etc. Finally […] when we were guided to the right road, we passed the lodges, because there was only a SMALL sign there, behind two large pillars, and it was very hard to see at night. If these two problems are corrected, it will be easier for people to find. Once we got there, we had a great time and loved the lodge....beautiful and serene. Read more
Very nice "getaway" place to stay. It is a bit a way from downtown Gettysburg, but that makes it nicer! Only thing I wish they had was a gas fireplace...I will be back!
"every thing was great"
every thing was great
"A Work in Progress..."
Other than the 2 specific things I mention below, this place will be fantastic. The cabins themselves are beautiful and offer plenty of space. The view of the surrounding landscape is really nice. Even the bathrooms and kitchenettes are really well done. However, our stay was negatively affected by two factors: 1. Stink bugs in the cabins. Even though […] they're harmless and don't actually stink, they're pretty creepy, and it was a little unnerving to find at least a dozen of them in our room during our 1-night stay. (No joke.) Made for a restless night. They're aware of the problem, but as of May 2011, had no solution. Ask about this before booking! 2. Construction everywhere. As of May 2011, the majority of this place was under construction, making it dirty/muddy and hard to find/get where you're supposed to go. Once everything is complete, though, this will be a non-issue. Read more
"Nice setting, but a little overpriced"
Although the lodges are in a beautifull setting, I had a couple of complaints: 1. Check in time (4:00 PM) is too late in the day 2. Check out time (10:00 AM) is too early 3. Price somewhat to high for what you get. For the Saturday night price I could have stayed in a luxury Spa.
"Comfortable and Spacious"
We stayed in a Captains Room/Lodge. The room was very nicely fitted out. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus. The location would not suit if you didn't have your own transport but for us it was perfect. Set in beautiful country surrounds only a few minutes drive from the main attractions. […] It was very quiet and serene. If we had the chance to visit Gettysburg again we would certainly stay here again. Read more
"Gettysburg"
Best can sum up by saying of want to live like a King for a night... This is the place.. The cabins are so quiet, had trouble falling asleep. King Beds are the best as is the rest of the individual cabins..
