The Floatel Hotel provides the perfect balance between the three or fewer star hotels one finds in India for a reasonable amount; and those luxury hotels that are great but cost too much. This was my second stay there, and I will stay there on my subsequent trips to Kolkata. The theme is a nice touch, and I love the hotel's commitment to being ecofriendly. The buffet is always a favorite, too.

Just note: This hotel closes after 1am. gates locked and NO ONE around. don't book it if you are arriving late!
