This is a phenomenal boutique hotel that is less than half the price of the nearby expensive monster hotels. The rooms are clean and modern, staff friendly and location is terrific. The downside is that it is right next to a nightclub that seemed to play Gangnam Style from 2-4 AM every morning. Make sure to stay on the 'other side' of the hotel...

This was our first time in Hong Kong. I had a tough time finding a hotel that accomodated a family of 4. We stayed in their Suite. While the room was quite large, the "king" bed barely fit the four of us. You will definately need a separate cot for the kids. The staff at the Hotel was top notch. The carpets throughout the hotel need a good shampoo. If you are not accustomed to smoking in a hotel, this definately is not the hotel for you. The cigarette smoke permeated into all areas of the hotel. I found it odd that there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. The suite room we stayed in was in need of a facelift. This hotel was referred to me by a work associate who used to stay in Hong Kong frequently. The Hotel is in TST and a short walk to the MTR. The location can not be beat. Rooms are small (I stayed in a standard) but if you're only using the room to sleep anyway, it is more than sufficient. To get to this hotel from the airport, go to the Octopus/Airport Express stand, buy an Octopus card for HKD 250 (50 for the card which is refundable when you leave and each trip to/from the airport is HKD 90 which gives you a little left over to use the MTR). Take the airport express train to Kowloon station. Take the K4 shuttle bus to the Park Hotel. Go back to the main road (maybe 20m behind where the bus drops off), turn Right, Prat is the next street on the right, hotel is on the left. Read more

I always try to stay at the butterfly but despit the excellent, responsive service, I was a bit disappointed that the halls smelled musty and I ended up changing my room in the middle of the night because the AC was so musty I couldn't take it anymore. What was worse that the lovely boy wasn't sure what I was talking about. He claimed to understand […] 'musty' but couldn't smell it and I was getting sick from it. But he gladly moved me to a different room and waited with me till I approved its AC before he could rest. I arrived early however, the staff held on to my luggage which allowed me to wander and explore TST without having to lug my suitcase around with me. Bonus - their staff spoke English. I have stayed at this hotel before and it is a really nice place compared to similarly priced hotels in the area. The decor is interesting and some of the rooms are much more spacious than even much more expensive hotels in Hong Kong. One problem. They have free WIFI but it is terrible. After checking in, with a grudging front desk reluctant to refund the charge for an extra bed we didn't need, and upon seeing the cramped, warn room, we searched for an alternative in TST. But the Butterfly on Prat is less expensive than nearby hotels, so we stayed put. The Butterfly is in a niche - a relatively good value, but only because surrounding […] prices are so high. TST is very vibrant. The tiny, newish Butterfly is efficient, quaint and modern, but already wearing out. The paint is peeling, the carpets in our room were badly stained and patched. The rooms are well-designed but furnishings sparse. Our room was a bit dingy. The front desk first met our request for a second bedside lamp (only one side of the queen bed had a lamp) with the claim that the room wasn't designed for two lamps, but eventually relented. This was typical of responses to several of our other requests: reluctance at first, then eventually a satisfactory accommodation. On the plus side, the shower was very roomy and luxurious. The sparse linens (large but not new bath towels, and just two small hand towels) detracted some, but overall the bath was the most comfortable part of the room. By the end, we thought, not that bad. Have been traveling to HK for almost 20 years and usually stayed in "Western" chain hotels. Tried Butterfly as an experiment and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is new and very well maintained. According to the clerk, at check-in, I was upgraded. My room was on the 13th floor with no view to brag about, but it was modern, clean and comfortable and […] even had a fridge and a microwave. A couple of observations: no chair to sit in for relaxation and not a single electrical outlet in the bathroom. The hotel has a great location in TST for shopping and eating with many restaurants very near by. The Hotel is not on a regular (free) shuttle bus route for the Kowloon Station train to the airport, but if you walk about 400m or 1/4 mile you can pick up the K4 shuttle. All and all, a very good experience and I would go back as well as recommend. Read more

Pros: Great hotel and location for travelers wanting a metropolitan experience. The front desk staff was amazing and spoke English very well. Room is small but comfortable for one or two guests. Microwave, refrigerator, electric hot water pot and hair dryer are provided. Bottled water, coffee, tea, etc. is replenished each day. Bed is low to the ground […] but comfortable. Room is decorated nicely with a modern feel. Bathroom had a very large shower. There is a large closet, in room safe and plenty of drawers and desk space. It's very close to the MTR station and large public busses and mini busses. I will stay here again. Cons: The air conditioner seemed to add more humidity to an already humid summer climate. There are no public spaces or lobby. Request an upper floor because the street noise can be loud if you are not used to the city life. I stayed on the 16th floor and the noise level was fine. TIPS: Get an Octopus Card when you arrive at the airport. You can use it for transportation, museums, 7-11s and many other places. I did my laundry at a "Chinese Laundry" around the corner called Happy Dry Cleaners. I had nine pounds that was washed, dried and folded in two hours for very little. If you are looking for western food there is a very good Mexican restaurant and a Ruth Chris Steakhouse nearby. Any Starbucks accepts US currency and gives you change in Hong Kong dollars at the best rate...better than banks or money exchange places. Read more

The hotel location is great, it is clean and well kept and still feels new. My only complaint would be the rooms are very small and the lobby entrance is sort of small and a challenge to shlep suitcases inside. Bathroom is great with a good roomy rainfall shower. This hotel scores high on Location, Service, Cleanliness, Proximity to restaurants etc. Only thing is I would prefer a hotel which is at a walkable distance to ferry terminal as ferry is one of the cheapest and best way to commute in hong kong. Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is close to this hotel, around 7~10mins walk. McDonald is just a stone throw away […] from this hotel. I would have prefer a better latest TV in this hotel as the LCD TV they had was a pretty old Model from LG which did not even have an USB port. So I could not play the mp3s and videos that I had with me in an USB Stick. Read more

I was arriving on a very early flight. I had emailed and called ahead for early check-in accommodations. I heard no reply from my email except for the auto-response, and when I called them to inquire about early check in, they said they'd gotten my email, but couldn't let me know until the morning I arrived. This was because if there was full occupancy […] the night before, I would only get early check in if a prior night's guest checked out early. Bad luck for me that they had full occupancy the night before. I got in at about 8:30 and had to wait until 10:00 a.m. for a room. I just wanted to cry at that point, because there IS no comfortable lobby or lounge to wait in here. All chairs are very ultra modern plastic. There are two giant Mac computers in the micro lobby, but no place to sit while you surf on them. I ended up going to the micro-gym on the 4th floor and laying down on a yoga mat. They did accommodate me as quickly as they could, and the room was very clean and roomy enough. The bath was nice and deep and room had blackout curtains. Very clean. Staff was super nice. One thing....the location is great, but it's in an alley off of another alley that flows into Nathan road. It's easy to get turned around and wander around looking for Prat and Hart. The Deli France restaurant is good for a quick breakfast. There is a 7 Eleven and CIrcle K if you want to stock your otherwise empty fridge with beer or soda. If you are looking for a full service hotel with room service and a lounge to hang out in, this is not your place. The location is good and you can get the Airport Hotel Shuttle directly to the BOP. This hotel is so ideally located for my interests that my feet still hurt from all the walking I did. Lots of good restaurants, upscale shops, close to the subway, the harbor, shopping streets, it's no wonder my feet hurt. I'm gonna stay there for my return trip (and walk a little less). Great hotel, very reasonable price.
