Most everything was good about Fusion. The only issue we had was that while drinking our own beers from our cooler on the beach the waiter said he didn't mind at all but the owner does not allow it. We were clearly hotel guests using hotel lounges on the beach. We were told we have to buy beer/cocktails from the hotel bar or drink our own drinks in […] our room only. You can't beat this hotel on Location . It was less than 6 blocks from the ADO Bus station. The shower floor in Room 5 looked as if it had not been cleaned in years. The floor tile in the shower was in very bad shape. There was never a shortest of hot water.

It was about what I expected. The room rate was good and the hotel is on the sand. But the prices of the food and at the bar were a lot more like what you might expect at a 5 star hotel in the US... certainly a lot more than what I would expect in Mexico. Playa del Carmen has really gotten a lot more expensive over the years. It seems like it's trying to keep pace with Cancun. The first time I went to Playa del Carmen was about 20 years ago. The prices of food and drink were much more like what one would expect in a country where labor is plentiful and cheap. But not anymore. I guess anytime any place catches on, you expect dramatic price increases. But my whole reason for choosing Mexico to begin with is because it's inexpensive... no more. It was a bit of a shock coming from the 5-star all inclusive resort to the Fusion, but it was fine. The only real complaints we had were that the beds were like laying on cement blocks, and that they asked that you throw your used toilet tissue in the trash can. We stayed here only one night because we missed a flight but I really enjoyed it. It had a great location with everything in walking distance and just steps from the beach. The food was good. My fiance had the burger and he thought it was delicious. The drinks were a little more in price than some of the other bars but not by too much. Small hotel near the beach, not the prettiest out of the bunch. However you get great access to the features of being in Playa. A few blocks from the ferry to Cozumel, dining everywhere you turn, and shopping as well. Beds are small, but you can't complain for the price. Has a rustic feel, not a fancy modern hotel.

The room needs a lot of Maintanence, and there were terminates everywhere. Location is convenient with beach front. Defenetly a very hippy hotel not family oriented. Bar seemed nice with live music. I had to pay $15 dlls extra for parking, so I could had stay in a nicer hotel for all the money. Continental breakfast only includes coffee, orange juice […] and bread. Due to the low price and great location of the hotel, I did not have tremendously high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was small but clean and had nice updated fixtures. We were in room 6 which is an upper level room. After looking at the layout of the courtyard where most of the rooms are located, I was glad we had the room that […] we did. Entering and exiting the courtyard causes you to walk by a few rooms several times each day. I would not have liked having one of those rooms, but this was not an issue with our room. Our room also had a small terrace with a couple chairs on it which was nice, but it faced south so it was too hot to sit out there between 9am and 8pm. It had been 2 years since I had been to playa, so I was quite shocked by how much beach has washed away in front of fusion. It seems to be a daily effort to keep the beach they have remaining. Because of the small area, there are a limited amount of beach chairs available and they are very closely spaced. I thought the quality of the food and the service was very good. The free continental breakfast was a great start to the day and the two regular meals that we had were also very good. Overall a very good experience and I would stay here again. Read more

Some nights there is belly dancing and also a fire show. Prices and food are reasonable and very good! The staff and service is superb! This hotel is also in a great location right off of the main drag for all the shopping and restaurants in Playa! If you want to do some sight seeing, the front desk can help you book that as well. So disappointed in the quality of accommodations at this hotel. Rooms are very small with a full size bed (we were quoted queen size) and a footstool -- no closet, no bedside table, no dresser. The van dropped us off about 2 blocks away because it could not drive in to where the hotel was at, right at the beach (inside 6th St and 5th ave). We then walked into the lobby/bar, which turned into the restaurant, and were taken by the beauty of the beach and restaurant. It was nice and cozy, the staff was warm and welcoming. The drinks a bit pricy, but the food was good! Every afternoon they have an awesome reggae band, Changa Sound, belly dancing, and fire shows. Fusion was the only thing happening at night on the beach. And every night it was packed. The location was perfect. At the center off 5th ave. Overall, we would recommend Fusion and we loved it! The only real drawback was that there was no wifi in the rooms, so you had to go to the lobby or restaurant. We were told that there were issues with the router or whatever. Was in the Yucatan for 14 nights, 6 different locations and Fusion Hotel was by far my favorite. Besides the fact that the Playa del Carmen beach in front of the hotel was the clearest and calmest I experiences throughout the Riviera Maya, the hotel itself added much to the experience. What really stands out at this hotel is the outdoor tables and benches to lay out during the day... and better yet the tables set up outside while the great live entertainment plays at night. The candlelit ambiance on the beach with the live music felt like a scene out of a movie.
