Butterfly on Wellington - Hong Kong

Absolutely perfect location, right in the thick of central HK. About a 15 min walk to the metro and ferry. Small rooms, but well maintained and clean. The staff was very helpful in answering questions about where to go and what to see.

Rates seem to vary greatly for different times, but then so do most hotels in Hong Kong. It is good value when the rates are at their lowest. Don't expect a grand hotel experience but it is definitely worth consideration, particularly if you have business in the Central district. Not really a holiday hotel.

This hotel is all about location--right near the Mid-level escalators, great restaurants, shopping, train station, etc. Few hotel amenities but you won't spend much time there anyway. Superior room is cozy for two. Plenty of storage space.

Not much more to say than what my rating says: It was perfect. Great location. Super service. Clean. Quiet. Modern. Even the frosted bathroom doors (as noted in other reviews) really wasn't that big of a deal since I was travelling alone. I highly recommend this hotel. No hesitation at all.

The rooms are Hong Kong small, but clean and well maintained. The bathroom is set off from the room by two large sliding glass panels--a bid funky for privacy, but certainly adequate. Near the mid-level escalators, so getting around is not a problem.

Very close to IFC mall, literally less than 5 minutes walk. Which it was great! The mid-level escalator is right next to hotel. Very convenient and nice after being out all day. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Very close to Lan Kwai Fong, if you like bars and lounges.

Location is good, once you can figure our your bearings. Room is small but nice, however it smelled a bit like poor plumbing and smell was stronger each night (yuck). Front desk staff was helpful in providing map & recommendations. Bathroom has only glass doors (mostly frosted) separating toilet/shower from bedroom. Not the most comfortable situation […] if you are sharing room with someone, but no problem for solo travelers. Front desk offered masking tape on second day to cover bathroom door for privacy. 2 bottles of water were provided each day, nice touch. The hotel is clean, quiet (desptie the hustle/bustle of Central) and modest. The space is smallish but not confining. The whole point of visiting a city like Hong Kong is to take advantage of what the city has to offer as opposed to staying in a hotel room. Great location in Central Hong Kong. Comfortable with nice decor, staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Definitely more a place to crash than a place that you would spend lengthy time in, but as a tourist in Hong Kong you don't want to be spending too much time indoors anyway.

The room was small but very functional and there is no breakfast or food in the hotel, apart from these very manageable issues everything else was perfect. Location: 7' on foot from the airport express (Through the corridors and bridges). You can find a million choices for breakfast and food within 5'. Staff friendliness. They were perfect. First impression of the outside is a bit doubtful, but inside is clean and comfy, staff very friendly, we felt safe, and beds were great, plenty of hot water, and great room for 3 people in the room (extra bed added in, and we could still walk around). No breakfast or extras that larger hotels would have (fitness centers, pool), but didn't expect it. […] Great breakfast can be found just up the hill on Graham St. at the Green Waffle Cafe. Tons of great restaurants in the area. Walking around is great to see the small market stalls, mixed in between the high rises. We walked to the Peak Tram station and back, which was a good way to see the city, too. After living and traveling in SE Asia for 6 years with kids, I'd have to say the beds were some of the best I've slept in, not too soft, not too hard. Room was quiet, didn't hear our neighbors; just a bit of construction outside, nothing to keep us awake or from going back again. Location is excellent, especially for Michellin Star Rating Restaurant and Bar Street (Lam Kew Fan). Shower Room is super in the room, which is larger than typical same level hotel in Hong Kong Island. Recommend.

This hotel was in a great location about a block from the elevator. When arriving at the airport you should take the express train to Hong Kong then ride the elevator up to Wellington. The hotel will be a short walk to the right and on the lefthand side of the street. The rooms are smaller and the beds are harder than American standards, but the pillows […] are soft. We stayed on the 15th floor and had no trouble with noise. I think it's a pretty quite street. We came with a small group of people just to shop, eat, and party for a week, and this hotel was perfect for us. The only downsides are that it would have been nice to have a pool, the bathrooms have glass doors seperating them from the room (privacy), there is no food in the hotel. Read more

I was extremely annoyed, after arriving very late after a delayed flight, to find that I had been given a room with what I eventually realised was a disabled-equipped bathroom. The washbasin and mirror in the bathroom were extremely low and difficult to use. It was already 2 a.m. and I really wanted just to go so sleep, but using the bathroom in the […] morning was quite inconvenient. At first glance, the neighborhood where the hotel is situated looks rundown. However, it's PERFECT for quick access to all sorts of fun things: street vendors, tons of restaurants (of all varieties) and shops, and within walking distance to IFC, ferries, subway, and all sorts of tourist sites like the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Hong […] Kong Park, the tram to the Peak... It's relatively cheap compared to some other places to boot! Hotel condition is nice and clean. You can even find slippers in the closet to wear after using their great showers!
