We had a beautiful 3 bedroom 3bath partial ocean view. Great bed and kitchen was well stocked for 12. Only issue, we had to walk a half mile to the beach at the Sheraton. The pool is wonderful. Really didn't want to go home.

The rooms are huge with a full kitchen and everything you would need like a blender, plates, silverware, etc. which comes in handy even if you don't plan to cook anything. This resort is not a beachfront property, but the best beaches to snorkel and swim don't have beach front resorts anyways. So save some money and get a huge room at a great price because the island is so small you can drive to the other side in about an hour, which is not far because the speed limit is 25-45 mph. We had a wonderful time in Kauai and Kaloa Landing was the perfect place for us. We loved having a the privacy and ability to relax in a full apartment vs yet another resort vacation. Kaloa Landing far surpassed our needs and the furnishings and attention to detail was exactly what you see in the pictures on the website! The rooms are look newly constructed and very roomy. The villa we rented was good enough for a family of 4. Kitchen had everything you could need. We got cereal and fruits from the local shopping center and mixed it up for breakfast every morning. There is no concierge desk but the concierge lady, Nikki, was nice. She let us borrow her Kauai guidebook […] which was very helpful. The place is a little over quarter mile from the Poipu beach and Poipu village. Same for the kukuli village on the other side. Sprouting horn is a short drive. The only thing I didn't like (or ended up not hating) were the noisy roosters roaming around in the hotel grounds. We didn't notice this in the neighboring hotels. Also, the day we were leaving we got a letter from the management that some construction was going to make the lobby inaccessible. The rooms were far away from the construction. Overall very nice hotel. At this point I believe all the units are 2-3 bedroom condo's. Made it nice to cook breakfast in the morning. Also our unit had a washer and dryer. We only visited the adult pool and it was nice but had no towels, and the music was pretty loud.

It doesn't have all the resort kinda stuff like room service or gift shops. The resort/hotel is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms VERY WELL equipped with high-end furniture and appliances (Subzero, Bosch etc.). The resort management staff was very friendly greeting us and checking us in & out. The one thing that can and needs to be improved is their house keeping service - white beds were made and sheets […] changed, the replacement of bathroom towels etc was very inconsistent and the mix of replacement towels (hand, bath, pool) random every day. The showers could also be cleaned / bleached a bit more as some mold was starting to build up in the coverns. Overall this is an excellent resort (VERY HIGH quality and standard) that we will come back to. Management seems to be aware of the issues with house keeping and is in process of addressing it. The resort is not within close walking distance to the ocean / beach, so expect to walk a few minutes or take your car. Read more

We ended up with two reservations (4 nites plus 2 nites) due to last minute changes in plans. Staff upgraded us from the reserved 1 bedroom construction view to a 2 bedroom construction/ocean view to ensure we would not have to switch unit mid-visit. These are multi-million dollar units and it feels like it - luxury. Caring and friendly staff - when […] the entire Kauai Island lost power one evening the staff immediately began checking the elevators and Units to ensure no one needed assistance. Location very convenient to several very good restaurants and there is a good grocery/markets if cooking/grilling at condo. Great for couples or families -- separate pool for adults only was far enough from family pool it was relaxing and quiet. Only complaint is electric plugs did not seem to be full 120v - my curling iron would not turn on and our electronics did not fully charge (camera batteries, eReader, and tablet computer) even when left charging overnight. Koloa Landing is absolutely beautiful and moderately priced. This is the nicest condo I've stayed in on vacation and the best priced. It is situated right in front of Poipu Beach, but is not located on the beach. They have a short path cleared to the beach. We did however drive to the beach with the park area and baby area because it is a little farther […] down the coast. We had toddlers and kids so it was easier to drive than walk. If you're visiting Kauai, I would definitely rent a car because the island is much to beautiful not to explore. The resort is still under construction, this is why the rates are so unbelievably low right now. We paid for the construction resort view, but was upgraded to the premium ocean view at no additional cost. We saw a TON of humpback whales everyday from our lanai!! Wyndham is a nice, quiet, get away resort if you want total peace and quiet. And the rooms were awesome and comfortable. But we were disappointed as it was not ideal for our family vacation with kids (2 and 7 years old). Wyndham has no restaurant, no service staff at the pool, really no beach access, landscaping was basic, and the $20/day resort fee […] was ridiculous for internet access that intermittently worked. We visited the Grand Hyatt and there was no comparison......they have multiple water slides, multiple pools, a snorkeling lagoon, beautiful beach, walk up restaurants and beverages poolside, service staff and life guards, beach side cabanas, and a beautiful beach. This is a wonderful place to stay in Kauai. Many (on other travel sites) have commented on this not being a "resort" and that was fine with us. We loved our very large room (2 BR, 2.5 bathrooms) with full kitchen, fully equipped with state of the art appliances. We had a first floor room in building 6 which looked right out onto the "adult" pool but […] we did not feel any lack of privacy and in a way it felt like the pool and hot tub were right in our backyard. The service was great, very friendly and accomodating. We got beach chairs (very nice ones with attached coolers) when we checked in (ask--they aren't automatically in the room) and they very quickly swapped out the DVD player that didn't work. There's an i-pod dock in the master bedroom. The master bathroom was as large as some hotel rooms! It is an easy walk or very short drive to get to the beach. Fitness center was clean and well-equipped, though we went running to Spouting Horn most mornings--a beautiful route. Walking distance to two upscale shopping areas with many restaurants. There were several events scheduled for guests there for the holidays (though we did not attend). Our only complaint was that the pools were quite cold; it would be nice if they heated at least one of them during the winter months. Overall this is a fantastic place for families or even just a couple if you want a very luxurious place to stay while exploring Kauai. Read more
