"Loved the moonrise over half dome"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 2, 2012
Very basic accomodations much like camping but with more privacy and less hassle.
"Very nice and close to park"
It was easy and convenient location. Only 15 minutes from the gate. They had not problem with our late check in and friendly staff showed us where our room is. Room was spacious and clean. Just all you to crash after a hike and then wake up early and leave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Yosemite trip"
Room was like staying in a well furnished cabin. We enjoyed it. Had thought we were actually booking inside Yosemite park so it was a little of a let down. Also, the hotel would have no control over this but the well water smelled very strong of sulfur and we did not like that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Yosemite trip"
We were at Yosemite Riverside Inn for two nights. Got in fairly late on a Tuesday night in search of food. Janette at the desk directed us to the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. Kitchen had closed by the time we got there but we liked the place so much we went back the next night for dinner. It was GREAT!! The Inn was very quiet and peaceful, rooms were […] neat and clean. About a 45 minute from the park but a beautiful ride along the way! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Peaceful and relaxing"
To our surprise, the Inn is charming and peaceful. It sits along side a creek and the owners put plenty thoughts into providing a comfortable outdoor area to their guests: BBQ, swing, picnic table, children's play area, etc. The room we stayed in has a queen size bed. The room and its bathroom are small but comfortable. Each room has its own A/C unit, […] and old school 20" color TV. There is no telephone in the room; and there is no cellphone signal. You are truly spending time with the people you are traveling. We loved it. Breakfast was continental style. The nearest town, Groveland, is about 24 miles where you'd find good coffee and breakfast. But it is going towards the opposite direction of Yosemite. overall, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to have the opportunity to come back to the Inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A very poor value!"
We were extremely disappointed with this facility. It is not well maintained, from plumbing to roofing to doors! Maintenance sheds are in full view and cluttered with debris. The bathroom was tiny and had one small bar of soap and one hand towel for two people (we were able to get additional materials for the second night). It is at best a third-rate […] facility and not worth the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was clean but had a Stuffy smell to it.the grounds where nice and the location is as close to the park as you can get without being in the park. but if you stay in the park you will pay twice the nightly rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"vacation"
It was a good location. Would have been nice if location had a general store to buy food items since no restaurants in surrounding area are opened late. Breakfast our second morning was not ready by 7 am.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"disappointed"
for the price I expected more. The toilet seats were worn and wobbly. The shower head was short and hanging out of the wall. You could hear every neighbors door opening and closing. I got sick and wanted to cancel the last night but no cancellations were allowed. I was also told over the phone that it was only 20 minutes to the valley floor. However, […] it was 20 minutes to the park entrance and another 45 minuted to the valley floor. I would not return to this motel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"What a nice little surprise"
Had a little trouble finding the resort as its off the main road closet to yousamite than we thought. With that being said, it's a great place right on the river, with great grounds and nice rooms. Well worth the price we paid. Look them up. We even met a kitty we named "Lodge". Very friendly and smart. Doesn't go into the rooms, but loves chocolate […] milk. ;~). "Yosemite Riverside Inn"
We stayed the weekend of Jan 27, 28, 2012. The location is about 15 miles east of Groveland, headed towards Yosemite. A beautiful and slightly remote area. This is the off season and renovations are in progress at the hotel. No mention was made of this on their website. The owners/contractor is/was not doing a good job of keeping the grounds clear of […] debris. The room was clean and the bed was fine. But the room had that smell of not being open or used in quite awhile. Our room also needed updating. Lastly their towels were rough, thin and old. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 2+. Only because of extra points for cleanliness. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Yosemite Riverside Inn - never again"
This was a disaster from the start. The "office" was being remodeled and no one was to be seen There was a note on the door asking that I knock loudly when I arrived. I did so and waited for fifteen minutes. Finally, by coincidence someone came out and provided me a key to my room. While the room was clean, there are not any nightstands next to the […] beds and the cable service was spotty at best (okay, so TV should not be a high priority when visting Yosemite, but if it is offered, it should at least be adequate). Later, due to the room not containing a phone and a complete lack of a cell signal ( I recognize this is not the inn's fault), I walked out on the porch and found a phone in a wall box for common use. The instructions stated that if I didn't have a phone card, I could purchase one from the office. After knocking loudly for over twenty minutes at the "office" door, I recdeived no response. I had to get in my car and drive ten minutes just to find a cell signal strong enough to place a call. Considering what I paid for these accomodations, this was the worst hotel experience pf my life - I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good place. Location is a little bit confusing though..."
Hotel is pretty good, is surrounded by trees and mountains. Very close to Yosemite park, and is relatively cheap. We stayed there on our trip to Yosemite and are overall satisfied. However, if you go to this hotel, you should know, that both google maps and garmin navigators find wrong place, when you search for this hotel address (11399 cherry lake […] rd). The hotel is located at the very beginning of cherry lake rd -- you enter the road from big oak flat rd, and in one mile hotel will be on your left. GPS navigator and google maps, though, will suggest you to go 11 more miles, and will bring you to the deep mountain road with no cell/3g signal to verify that you're not lost or call the hotel to ask for directions :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"close to yosemite"
Nice location. Close to Yosemite. not expensive. Old hotel in ok condition. Cheap towels, soap, coffee etc. Not sure if I would go back. Groveland is farther away, but has more to offer. No food available at hotel. Not good for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for Yosemite"
This was a good location after having travelled through the park on the Tioga Pass Road and with our plans to tour the valley the next day. It was late in the season, so no breakfast service. Closest restaurant is 3 miles. Room was clean but don't expect much in amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Yosemite Riverside Inn"
Aside from our gps not being able to get us to the Inn, our stay was exactly what we were looking for. It is about 15 minutes from the park entrance and Buck's Meadow is 3 miles west for late night dining (open until 9pm). We were able to use the Inn as a base camp for our Yosemite Park adventures without staying in the Valley with the crowds and prohibitive […] hotel expenses. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Yosemite Riverside Inn"
Very reasonable price. Extras could be added at an expense like internet access. Appreciated not having been charged right off the top but would have been more convenient if we were aware it could have been added for an additional expense.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Not fancy, but comfortable. Very convenient to entrance to Yosemite along 120. Trust GPS directions - we thought we had passed it. Hotel is secluded outside of Groveland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Riverside Inn - a remote but lovely place to stay."
The Riverside Inn lies a bit outside of the yosemite national park (about a half hour drive). It may be a bit hard to reach*, but its located in a very nice place and offers you a beautifully calm place to rest. The hotel is operated by a nice family and I had the pleasure to enjoy their friendly place for the second time already. * some GPS devices […] may incorrectly locate the address on the 'far end' of a dirt road. The hotel is located just about 0.5 mile of the main road to Yosemite National Park though. Still a remote place, but about an hour less to drive than indicated by your GPS. Rustic inn off the road going into Yosemite National Park. Rustic, but very comfortable. Was a little concerned about the cleanliness of the shower and the bathroom was in need of repairs. Definitely not sound proof.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We won't go back"
We decided to go to Yosemite the week before so there wasn't a lot of selection, either really expensive lodges in the park or motels 90 minutes away. We chose the Yosemite Riverside Inn despite the reviews because it was the closest and the setting was appealing. Pros: beautiful setting in the woods along the middle fork of the Tuolumne River; 15 […] minutes from the park entrance and 45 minutes from the valley; nice barbecue and picnic area along river outside room.. Cons: really bad housekeeping staff; 5 drawer chest of drawers had only one drawer operable; tiny room; hard bed; the nice picnic area was a party until well after 11 each night; continental breakfast didn't begin until 7:30 am which meant if you wanted to beat the crowds into the park you missed it. My wife said it was the worst place we have ever stayed and we just come from 3 nights at a Super 8! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel"
This one is a great experience with beautiful trees and a nice water flowing on the side of the hotel. But the only thing i dont like is the enterance. There should a big board with the hotel Name and Number on it and that will be a great help to all. "Close to Yosemite"
Based on other reviews, I was worried about this booking, but we found the Riverside Inn to be clean, pleasant, and near the Yosemite boundary. The bathroom looked newly tiled, which goes a long way to making a room feel decent. The continental breakfast was sufficient. We didn't request any extra amenities, so I can't comment on anything beyond a basic […] room. It's not the most fabulous place you'll ever stay but for getting close to Yosemite without camping or paying the price for a Valley hotel, this place is perfect. "Good location but needs some TLC"
We spent 3 nights at this motel which is really close to the park entrance. The grounds are nice. However, the rooms were not so nice, pretty dated furniture, spider webs in corners and some left over garbage from earlier visitors. I also dislike that all breakfast plates etc. are disposable. The internet connection is a disaster and the manager's attitude […] regarding this matter is too. If you need phone coverage or internet, expect trouble. The rates are competitive, at least for the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel..."
Due to my last minute decision to visit Yosemite, I was not able to find any hotels within the park. This hotel is about 30+ miles from the park. The hotel was very neat and clean..nothing fancey but comfortable and affordable. I loved the stream along side of the hotel. The owners were quite friendly. There is a nice restaurant located about a mile […] away from the hotel. I was pleased with my stay and would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relatively convenient to Yosemite but needs repair"
This hotel is about 10 miles from the northern (Hwy 120) entrance to Yosemite National Park. However, it takes another 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic, to reach Yosemite Valley after you enter the park, so it's really 40-90 miles from any park amenities or information. The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast room is nice. However, […] several things in our room needed attention: one bedside lamp didn't work, the ceiling fan didn't work, and the curtain rod was about to fall off of the wall. I filled out a maintenance request form that was in the room, and they repaired the lamp and ceiling fan, but not the curtain rod. The bathroom shower was very small and the towels were low quality. My biggest beef, however, occcured when I accidentally spilled water on the bed and the cleaning service did not replace the sheets; they simply re-made the bed, so I returned to a damp bed after a day of hard hiking in Yosemite. Thus, I did not tip the maid. Also, despite the address, this hotel is NOT in Groveland; it is 15 miles east of Groveland. There's a greasy spoon restaurant 3.5 miles from the hotel that's open until 10 p.m., or other mediocre eating establishments back in Groveland that close before 9 p.m. Overall this hotel worked out OK because I booked two rooms about two months before visiting Yosemite in the busy season, and the setting of the hotel was very nice. If you don't mind lots of driving to hike in the park and mediocre food, plus chintzy amenities but friendly hotel staff, you can probably deal with staying at this hotel. "Too old and toofar from Yosemite"
This was one of the few places available in or near Yosemite so we booked it at an outrageously high rate. Place looks to be very old style with small cramped rooms. But they were clean and the water was hot and the shower worked! Also they provided a reasonable free breakfast. WIFI was $5 a night. I did not use it.Genuine Expedia guest review
